  • Memorials in Joseon Dynasty created a arena where the intellectual and political power met. This thesis traces the process of a certain political faction's rebuilding of the political structure of the elite groups by leading the intellectual controversies through memorials, especially those about the evaluations of Pak Setang(朴世堂) and I Gyeongseok(李景奭). This is what happened: Song Siyeol(宋時烈) submitted a memorial which disputed I Gyeongseok's petition, which provoked complete controversies around the memorials between Noron(老論) and Soron(少論). This led to the academic censorship against Sabyeonrok written by Pak Setang. The analysis of act of writing and submission of memorials by Noron and the role of the Kim Family of An-dong(安東 金門) specifically is the main topic here. The members of Soron ceaselessly criticized Song Siyeol, while the Kim Family strongly defended him. The trigger of the strife was a letter written by Kim Chang-Heup(金昌翕), a member of the Kim Family and the Kims played a significant role in the background during the process of political fights using memorials. The series of memorials criticized or supported certain political figure or his writings, but the opinions of Noron and Soron were directly opposite to each other. Even though the expressed difference was the result of the existing political factions, however, it also caused the new power structure of elite groups. The expressions and logics used in the arguments also have its significance. The Noron's memorials evaluated the contemporary people and their writings based on Chu-Hsi and Song Siyeol, who was regarded as a identical figure of Chu-Hsi. The arguments and writing strategies in this regard gained political strength enough to reorganize the intellectual society by changing alignment of political parties, and this led to the rebuilding of academic environment afterward.

  • This paper analyzed the theory of the Nature and Principle of Kim Mae-soon, who was a representative scholar of the Nak-ron(洛論) in the early 19th century, focusing on Horak Controversy. He not only embodied his academic view based on the tradition of Andong Kim's family, but also faithfully succeeded the view of the Nak-ron closely linked to the his family academic tradition. He was more familiar with Neo-Confucianism than any other scholar of his time, and he completed the commentary on 《ZhuZiDaQuan》(朱子大全) developed after the 17th century. He also wrote a series of works that specifically describe his academic views through a detailed understanding and confirmation of various Confucian scriptures, including 《Zhongyong》(中庸) and 《TaHsueh》(大學). In particular, he systematized his own neo-Confucian view, which he achieved through deep thought and literature review, into the 《Gweolyeosanphil》(闕餘散筆) at the end of his life. This paper is the first study of Kim Mae-soon's theory of Confucianism. Through this paper, I first examined his life in terms of thought formation and development. And then I analyzed his views specifically on the subject of Hoak Controversy, focusing on the discussion of the nature of people and things in 《Geueolyeosanphil》. Finally, I carefully examined his academic influence in a poetic way, focusing on scholars who had communicated with him.

  • This study aims to identify the relationship between climatic factors and stand mean Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) for two major tree species; Pinus densiflora and Quercus mongolica in Andong-dam basin. Forest variables such as age, diameter distribution and number of trees per hectare from the $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ National Forest Inventory data were used to develop a DBH estimation model. Climate data were collected from six meteorological observatory station and twelve Automatic Weather System provided by Korea Meteorological Administration to produce interpolated daily average temperature map with Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) method. Andong-dam basin reflects rugged mountainous terrain, so temperature were adjusted by lapse rate based correction. As a result, predictions of model were consistent with the previous studies; that the rising temperature is negatively related to the growth of Pinus densiflora whereas opposing trend is observed for Quercus mongolica.

Applicability Analysis of FAO56 Penman-Monteith Methodology for Estimating Potential Evapotranspiration in Andong Dam Watershed Using Limited Meteorological Data (제한적인 기상자료 조건에서의 잠재증발산량 추정을 위한 FAO56 Penman-Monteith 방법의 적용성 분석 - 안동댐 유역을 사례로 -)

  • This study is conducted to estimate potential evapotranspiration of 10 weather observing systems in Andong Dam watershed with FAO56 Penman-Monteith (FAO56 PM) methodology using the meteorological data from 2013 to 2014. Also, assuming that there is no solar radiation data, humidity data or wind speed data, the potential evapotranspiration was estimated by FAO56 PM and the results were evaluated to discuss whether the methodology is applicable when meteorological dataset is not available. Then, the potential evapotranspiration was estimated with Hargreaves method and compared with the potential evapotranspiration estimated by FAO56 PM only with the temperature dataset. As to compare the potential evapotranspiration estimated from the complete meteorological dataset and that estimated from limited dataset, statistical analysis was performed using the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), the Mean Bias Error (MBE), the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and the coefficient of determination ($R^2$). Also the Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) method was performed to conduct spatial analysis. From the result, even when the meteorological data is limited, FAO56 PM showed relatively high accuracy in calculating potential evapotranspiration by estimating the meteorological data.

  • This thesis investigates wrote by Lee Han Jin who edited "Chung Ku Young Un(靑丘永言)" with supposition that was affected by Lee Han Jin's literary activity and poetic direction, and Wayu(臥遊) was enjoyed by Sajok(士族) in the late Chosun Period. Lee Han Jin kept company with The Yeonam Faction and their friendship was based on Lee Han Jin's blood-relationship. Lee Han Jin's musical sense and poetic direction are verified by records about their poetic activity. In his old age, Lee Han Jin retired in the Yeongpyeong of Gyeonggido and edited "Chung Ku Young Un", Lee Han Jin's poetic direction is also verified by Sijo's theme which was included in "Chung Ku Young Un" and Lee Han Jin's Sijo. Meanwhile, Kyunghwasajok(京華士族) in the late Chosun Period wanted to overcome their situation that they could not leave city by imagination about landscape. That activity was Wayu. They didn't consider whether they see landscape, and they made good use of many genre of literature for effective Wayu. Lee Han Jin and his group's literary activity was formed by that cultural air. Lee Han Jin wrote though his retirement in mountain. It was also for effective imagination about landscape that he didn't see. So unworldly landscape was appeared in compared to other fishermen motif poems. The tension between Situation that he couldn't see real landscape and desire for effective Wayu get solved by form named that have distinct characteristic as a Jipgusi(集句詩).
