An Indoor Localization and Guidance System for the Visually Impaired Person Based on Bluetooth 4.0 (시각 장애인을 위한 Bluetooth 4.0 기반의 실내 위치 추정 및 안내 시스템)

  • The scope of activities of the visually impaired is increasing. But they are not easy to visit the destination safely because the building was complicated and larger than ever. There is a guide system for visually impaired such as GPS and Audio alerts, Braille guide block, Acoustic signaller, etc. But they are not suitable for indoor because most of them are the outdoor guide system. Therefore, in this paper, I propose a system that provides guidance information to the visually impaired using Voice Technology, TTS (Text to Speech) and Haptic Technology, Beacon based on the wireless sensor networks. It informed the visually impaired of guidance information about destination such as distance, height, and obstacle to the destination using the generalized smart phone. The user could be received guide info about searches for the optimal route to the destination using the TTS technology and Haptic technology in test result of the proposed system.

  • Road signs are guide facilities for road users, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has established and operated a system to enhance the convenience of managing these road signs. The role of road signs will decrease in the future autonomous driving, but they will continue to be needed. For the accurate mechanical recognition of texts on road signs, automatic road sign recognition equipment has been developed and it has applied image-based text recognition technology. Yet there are many cases of misrecognition due to irregular specifications and external environmental factors such as manual manufacturing, illumination, light reflection, and rainfall. The purpose of this study is to derive location-based destination names for finding misrecognition errors that cannot be overcome by image analysis, and to improve the automatic recognition of road signs destination names by using Levenshtein similarity verification method based on phoneme separation.

  • This paper describes the development of a network-based passenger information system(PIS) which provides the convenience of the passenger of the train and heightens the effect of the subtitle service, the advertising and the shelter guidance broadcasting against the urgent event. The existing system uses VGA signal distributor in order to broadcast information with image and subtitle and voice guidance. In this paper we improve the existing system by applying the UDP and TCP/IP protocol and use a reference clock to solve a data loss and synchronization problem which occurs in this case. We also developed an XML-based subtitle authoring tool which can edit and play the subtitles with various 3D to improve the automatic guidance broadcasting and advertisement effect according to the operation schedule of the train. The system performance was evaluated through a simulation.

  • As the world's elderly population increases, the proportion of visually impaired is also increasing, and there are still many restrictions on the use of outside activities, such as safety problems and lack of guidance information. To solve this problem, research on smart devices such as smart glasses with optical character recognition (OCR) function is being actively conducted. In this paper, we propose a system that recognizes obstacles ahead and informs information by voice, and also guides the way to the destination. Using the deep learning object recognition model Yolo, it let them to recognize the risk factors as obstacles such as stairs and Larva cones. and it also deliver the information with a voice. so you can expect that the visually impaired can do a lot of different activity even more now that system takes the visually impaired to the destination by using the directions API, voice recognition, TTS library.

  • 최근 모바일 단말 기술의 발전과 무선망의 성능 향상에 따른 다양한 서비스가 제공되고 있는 추세이며, 위치정보인식시스템과 결합된 서비스에 많은 관심이 높아졌다. 본고에서는 GPS(Global Positioning System)의 신호가 미치지 못하는 건물의 실내환경에 적합한 경로 안내서비스 및 지하시설물 안내 등 초정밀 실내 측위 서비스를 제공하기 위한 융합 측위 방안을 제안한다. 융합 측위 방안은 실내외 연속 측위를 위해 실외에서는 GPS를 이용하고 실내환경에서는 WLAN 기반의 측위 전용 AP(Access Point)를 이용, 전파신호의 LoS(Line of Sight)를 확보하여 측위하고 전파음영지역에서는 스마트폰의 가속도, 자이로센서 등 여러 가지 관성센서를 활용하여 PDR(Pedestrian Dead Reckoning) 알고리즘 등을 적용하여 측위한다. 또한 측위 정확도 향상 및 오차를 줄이기 위한 방법으로 LSE(Least Squire Estimation) 및 EKF(Extended Kalman Filter), KNN(K-Neighbor Node)/MSSM(Maximum Signal Strength Model) Algorithm 등 다양한 융합 측위 알고리즘을 적용하여 실내환경에 적합한 최적의 초정밀 실내 측위 서비스를 제공한다.

Deep learning based optimal evacuation route guidance system in case of structure fire disaster (딥러닝 기반의 구조물 화재 재난 시 최적 대피로 안내 시스템)

  • In case of fire in a structure, it is difficult to suppress fire because it can not accurately grasp the location of fire in case of fire. In this paper, we propose a system algorithm that can guide the optimal evacuation route in case of deep learning-based (RNN) structure disaster. The present invention provides a service to transmit data detected by sensors to a server in real time by using installed sensor, to transmit and analyze information such as temperature, heat, smoke, toxic gas around the sensor, to identify the safest moving path within a set threshold, to transmit information to LED guide lights and direction indicators in a structure in real time to avoid risk factors. This is because the information of temperature, heat, smoke, and toxic gas in each area of the structure can be grasped, and it is considered that the optimal evacuation route can be guided in case of structure disaster.

  • Place names of road sign mean various place names being used on road signs for path guidance of drivers such as administrative district, facility, road, etc. It is very important that not only the choice method of place names for connectivity of road signs but standard establishment of spatial impact zone according to place names. However this standard are not established currently, so it is difficult to fix the spatial range for changing place names around the main facility according to the new construction or relocation of main facility in urban region. Considering the use of big data, one of the Government 3.0, we need to utilize actively the road sign management system database. This paper suggested a methodology for standard establishment of spatial impact zone according to place names of road sign in urban regions based on the road sign management system database. To perform a case study, we selected a major facility ("City Hall") which is the most frequently used the place name of road signs and presented standard of spatial impact zone by urban size in 84 cities.

  • Although the demand of Variable Message Sign(VMS) has become pervasive in fulfilling the ITS policy, there are still several unsolved problematic issues. The most critical ones of them are inequality and inefficiency of providing traffic information. This paper proposes the Infra-free Variable Message Sign in order to provide useful informations such as road condition, weather, and traffic of the area, where constructing the infrastructure of communication and power supply is relatively very hard. First of all, the characteristics of infra-free Variable Message Sign are studied and analyzed in deep because of differences between normal Variable Message Sign and Infra-free Variable Message Sign in the configuration and the operating method due to the nature of the Infra-free Variable Message Sign. Futhermore, for effective power management of operating Infra-free Variable Message Sign with limited power acquired through stand-alone PV system, new battery connection structure and dynamically variable power managements for the differently shown messages on Variable Message Sign are proposed. The proposed structure in this paper can be applied to not only power management for Infra-free Variable Message Sign but also power management for the various applications using parallel connection battery system.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the current status of hospital life guides in Korean and overseas hospitals, draw problems, and propose a design improvement. in order to improve the visual convenience and efficiency of information delivery of hospital life guidelines. As a result of examining and analyzing the current status of the notice on hospital life in 16 hospitals at home and abroad, problems such as information selection without certain standard, increase of items due to unnecessary items, and forms that do not consider the convenience for notice use were discovered. In order to solve them, this study suggested a survey questionnaire for finding detailed improvements, and it divided the participants into two groups of 50 patients/nurses and 50 nurses in each. The study carried out a user awareness investigation and survey on the efficiency and understanding of information, number and importance of items, and color and form, and then made another sample notice to conduct a detailed survey on color and form. As a result, the study could identify that important items for each users were different. It is considered that a new design with improved visual convenience of users and efficiency of information delivery, by applying layout and graphic elements as well as selecting information that meets consumer demand, will be proposed based on this.

  • 미래의 로봇 산업은 기존 자동화 산업 뿐만 아니라 안내, 보안 등의 가정, 공공기관 또는 우주, 심해 등에서 인간을 대신할 대안으로 활용되어질 전망이다. 이는 기존의 단순반복에서 벗어나 자율이동, 자기학습 등이 가능하도록 개발되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 로봇을 공공기관에서의 안내, 보안 또는 위험현장, 군사용으로 적용하기 위해 필요한 기술인 자율이동시스템을 개발하였다. 로봇이 자율이동하기 위해서는 자기위치추적, 장애물 탐지 및 회피 기술이 필요하다. 이를 위해 초음파센서를 이용해 로봇을 탐지 시스템을 구성하였으며 LM신경회로망 제어기를 사용하여 로봇의 이동을 제어하였다. 또한 시뮬레이션을 통해 장애물 회피능력과 이동성능 결과를 검증하였다.
