This study was to identify the main predictors of smartphone overdependece of infants perceived by mothers and to provide basic data useful for education and practice. For this, data-mining decision tree analysis was performed using SPSS program, and the fianl 410 researches were used for analysis. The results. In the case of the whole infants, the most important predictor of smartphone dependence was father's leisure activity parenting participation. For boys, their father's leisure activity was the most dependent on their smartphone dependence. This research aims to make people realize the importance of styles of father's communication and ego-resilience in school life adaptation and, furthermore, provide necessary data for the communication between father and children by confirming the mediation effect of ego-resilience in the relationship between the styles of father's communication, which the child recognizes, and the school life adaptation. The selected research questions to achieve such research purpose are like the following. First, what is the correlation among school life adaptation, ego-resilience, and communications styles of father that child recognizes? Second, does the ego-resilience show mediation effect in the relationship between the school life adaptation and communication styles of the father that child recognizes? The subjects for this research were 345 children in 5thand 6thgrades from B elementary school in Seo-gu, Incheon. SPSS 18.0 program was used for the collected data, and correlation analysis was performed in order to discover the relationship among variables. Regression analysis was performed to verify the mediation effect of ego-resilience. The summary of this research is like the following. First, as the result of the correlation analysis of the father's communication styles, ego-resilience and the school life adaptation, which the child recognized, the three variables showed statistically significant correlation. Among the functional and dysfunctional communication styles that child recognized, the placating style showed positive correlation with ego-resilience and school life adaptation, and among dysfunctional communication styles, the intellectualizing style, distracting style, and blaming style showed negative correlation with ego-resilience and school life adaptation. Ego-resilience and school life adaptation showed positive correlation. Second, after looking at the mediation effect of ego-resilience in the relationship of the father's communication style and school life adaptation, the result showed that ego-resilience had partial mediation effect in the relationship of the father's communication style and school life adaptation. In this research, it has significance in the aspect that it confirmed the relationship and route between the father's communication styles, school life adaptation, and ego-resilience, which child recognized. Therefore, the effort is required to research and apply desirable communication method between fathers and children in order to help students to adapt well in school life, and moreover, it is also required that ego-resilience improvement program gets developed and applied at the school field.
Increased multi-cultural families over the recent decade have led to more studies on the current situations and problems they face. Fathers in multi-cultural families are supporters who can help their migrant wives adapt their new surroundings; however, it is difficult to find studies on them as their roles as fathers in multi-cultural families have been overlooked. This study develops educational programs for fathers in multi-cultural families and analyzes the effect of the educational programs. The educational program development for fathers in multi-cultural families was based on consideration of related articles, studies, and reports. The effect analysis for the educational program for fathers in multi-cultural families was performed through the investigation of 'self-esteem' and 'parent self-confidence' about educated fathers in multi-cultural families. The educational program for fathers in multi-cultural families was composed of 5 themes which can improve their self-esteem, understand the father's role and function, learn the skills of playing and conversation with their children and express the father's thoughts for his own family using positive methods. We educated 12 fathers in multi-cultural families through the development of the program over 5 weeks to verify the effect of educational programs for fathers in multi-cultural families. The results showed the following : The level of father's self-esteem in multi-cultural family increased 124% and the level of parent self-confidence increased 141%. In conclusion, the educational effect for fathers in multi-cultural family exists and their desire for a successful multi-cultural family increased through the educational programs.
The purpose of this study is to develop a program which aims at providing a better understanding of parenthood, establishing a desirable value of being a parent and preparing for being a good father positively affecting children, and determine effects of the program on unmarried men who are in the so-called stage of 'not belonged youth'. The program consisted of 5 sessions titled 'My father, 'I will be a father, too', 'Being a good father I', 'Being a good father II' and 'I will be a respectable father'. 7 unmarried men surveyed here were asked to participate in the program held at B church located in Busan from Oct. 3 to Nov. 7, 2004, with 1 session a week and 120 minutes per session based. Before and after the program, tests were carried out with the father acceptance-rejection scale and the scale of confidence in father's role'. For each of the sessions, a process evaluation was performed. Results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, the pre- and post-tests with the father acceptance-rejection scale showed some changed recognition that father's attitude of child raising would be more acceptable and unrejectable. This indicates that the program made some achievements in relation to understanding and reestablishing relations with father. Second, significant differences were found in confidence in father's role between before and after the program. Especially, anxiety about father's role as a sub-area of such confidence was most considerably reduced. In conclusion, such objectives of the program as removing vague anxiety about father's role, establishing a desirable view of fatherhood and improving confidence about being a father proved to be achievable through getting skills of child understanding with the concept of developmental perspective and narrative therapy based.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of parenting education program for adolescents. Parenting education program for adolescents was developed and implemented at three secondary schools in Seoul, Chungcheong province, and Gwangju metropolitan city with focus on the following topics respectively 'parent-child communication', 'understanding fatherhood', and 'preparation for parenting based on self-understanding'. Data were collected from self-reported inventory and 97 data copies for pre- and post tests were used for analyses. Data were analyzed for frequency, percentage, paired t-test and One way ANOVA using SPSS/PC 21.0 program. The results from mean comparison of pre- and post tests were as follows. First, perception of necessity for parenting education and needs for including parenting program into regular secondary school curriculum increased statistically, which means that parenting program must be implemented regularly to meet the demands of adolescents for parenting program. Second, the main reason for not having children was 'burden for rearing children', which means that enough child-care skill and information need to be included. Third, the mean difference between pre- and post tests regarding perception of performing parents' roles was statistically significant, which means that the participants' perception of performing parents' roles became positive. Fourth, the 32 high school students participating in parenting education of 'understanding fatherhood' did not have significant difference in gender role. The 29 middle school students participating in parenting education of 'parent-child communication' had significant difference in perception of communication. The 36 high school students participating in parenting education of 'preparation for parenting based on self-understanding' had significant difference in self-esteem. This results identified the effectiveness of parenting education for adolescents. Therefore, Home Economics subject must be selected to give the opportunity of parenting education to high school students.
