Kinetic Studies on Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions of Alkane Sulfonylchlorides with Anilines in MeOH-MeCN Mixtures (메탄올-아세토니트릴 혼합용매에서 염화알칸술포닐과 아닐린의 친핵 치환반응에 대한 속도론적 연구)

  • Nucleophilic substitution reactions between Alkanesulfonylchlorides and p-substituted anilines in methanol-acetonitrile mixture have been studied kinetically. Reactivities of substrates, substituent effects of nucleophile and solvent effects indicate that the studied reaction proceeds via $S_N2$. The kinetic results show that transition state of the reaction between i-PSC and anilines becomes looser as the composition of methanol increases.

  • The reaction of thianthrene cation radical perchlorate with thioxanthene in acetonitrile gave thianthrene and dark reddish thioxanthylium ion instead of thioxanthene cation radical. Addition of aromatic nucleophiles such as anisole, aniline, N,N-diethylaniline, catechol, ethylbenzene, to the above mixture yielded the corresponding thioxanthenes with substituent at 9 position. Reactions with dibenzo-18-crown-6-ether, diphenylmercury, and triphenylphosphine gave similar products. However, reactions with aromatics with electron-withdrawing group were either too slow or inert to such a reaction.

폴리톨루이딘 합성 및 전기화학적 특성분석

  • Poly-o-toluidine (POT) was chemically and electrochemically synthesized for the study of the electronic and steric effect of methyl substituents. It was found that the steric effect was dominant in POT. The IP 4.95 eV, EA 3.24 eV, Eg 1.71 eV of POT were found by the CV (Cyclic Voltammetry) and CCPSA (Constant Current Potentiometric Stripping Analysis).

  • Poly-o-toluidine (POT) was chemically and electrochemically synthesized for the study of electronic and steric effect of methyl substituents. The turn-on voltage of organic light emitting diode (OLED) was 9~14 V. ITO/POT/Al structured OLED were fabricated with various oxidation states of POT. PL, I-V characteristics and EL spectra were investigated.

  • The rate constants for the nucleophilic substitution reactions of substituted benzoyl chlorides with p-nitroaniline in such solvents as acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, etc. were conductometrically determined, and the activation thermodynamic parameters were also evaluated. In result, the reaction rates were faster in protic solvents than in aprotic solvent; in the solvents of similar property, the reaction rate in the solvent of the large dielectric constant was faster than that in the solvent of the small dielectric constant. Hammett plots in individual solvents showed the straight lines with positive slope; and we concluded that the reaction occurred via the addition-elimination mechanism.

The Effect of Solvent and Doping Matter on the Electric Properties of Polyaniline Films (폴리아닐린 필름의 전기적 특성에 미치는 용매 및 도핑물질의 효과)

  • Polyaniline free standing films cast from N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone(NMP) solution, camphorsulfonic acid(HCSA), dodecylbenzensulfonic acid(HDBSA), inorganic matter(carbon black, graphite) and metal(silver) were prepared by processings. The properties of these films such as crystallinity, near-infrared absorption spectra and conductivity were investigated. The HCSA and HDBSA doped polyaniline films cast from m-cresol and chloroform solvents showed the metallic property and high crystallinity, respectively. The value of conductivity in the HCSA doped polyaniline film obtained 180 S/cm. We have obtained the value of conductivity 200 S/cm in the metal(silver) doped polyaniline film, which is higher than that of the HCSA doped polyaniline film. The metal(silver) doped polyaniline film shows good properties as a electromagnetic shielding material.

  • Polyaniline free standing films are prepared by various processing. The properties of these films such as electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding efficiency are investigated. The conductivities of films doped with a camphorsulfonic acid and a silver are found to be 170/cm and 190S/cm, respectively, indicating metallic behavior. The films added silver, which are casted from hydrochloric acid and dodecylbenzensulfonic acid, show that the electromagnetic shielding efficiency are obtained 42∼52dB and 46∼56dB in the frequency range of 10MHz∼1GHz, respectively. This suggests that the films added silver, which is casted from dodecylbenzensulfonic acid, can be used as electromagnetic shielding material.

  • 실리카와 폴리아닐린의 core-shell 복합체 나노입자를 실리카 나노입자 분산용액을 이용하여 제조하였다. 제조된 복합체 나노입자를 전기변색박막의 소재로 이용하기 위하여 알코올 용액에 분산하였고, 분산된 용액에 Tetraethoxysilane (TEOS)를 소량의 HCl 용액과 함께 첨가하여 코팅 용액을 제조하였다. 코팅 용액을 인듐주석산화물(ITO) 박막이 도포된 유리 기판위에 도포하고 열처리 하여 매우 높은 부착력을 갖는 전기변색박막을 얻을 수 있었다.
