Nowadays, the various developments of the CAD/CAM have been coming to realization at an intimidating speed. However, in the field of the aesthetic dentistry, the extremely natural aesthetics must be realized eventually by human hands, and for this purpose, it is considered that the endless challenges and practitioners' own beliefs are necessary. While practitioners are normally exposed to surgical methods of aesthetic restorations via domestic and foreign books and lectures, it appears that there are not many of such necessary information that is summarized for easy understanding by dental technicians. Accordingly, as a result of pondering over this matter for years, the presenter has been devising the 'Esthetic Check List' that is a guideline for the aesthetic restoration practice, and the balanced and harmonious prostheses have been produced based on this guideline. In this presentation, this protocol is introduced.

The growing of healthy aged edentulous peoples in these days increases the demands of denture which is excellent in function and aesthetic. The Biofunctional Prosthetic System(BPS) is being introduced as a curriculum in a large number of schools in the United States, Europe and Japan. Each stages of BPS are standardized and systematized, on this account BPS is the system that even less experienced clinicians is able to produce highly satisfactory denture for patients. Additionally, the combination of BPS and suction mechanism of mandibular complete denture would make it possible to produce stabilized mandibular denture during oral function. The purpose of this article is to describe a process of producing fuctionally and aesthetically outstanding denture by using BPS combined with mandibular suction mechanism.

치경부에 발생된 병소 부위(cervical lesion)는 "우식성 병소(caries lesion)"와 "비우식성 병소(non-caries lesion)"로 분류할 수 있다. 우식성 병소는 구강 내 세균들의 활동에 기인하여 발생된 병소로서 경조직 손상 부위의 수복과 함께 우식이 재발하지 않도록 체계적으로 대응하는 것이 필요하다. 비우식성 병소는 산성 물질, 저작력 및 이물질에 의한 마모 작용과 같은 다양한 원인에 의해 발생될 수 있으며, 수복 치료에 앞서 병소에 발생 원인을 규명하는 것이 중요하다. 먼저 병소 유발 원인에 대한 분석과 이에 대한 적절한 조치를 취한 후에 수복 치료를 시행하는 것이 바람직하다. 심미적인 요구가 높은 치경부 병소의 수복을 위하여 사용될 수 있는 재료는 "불소를 방출하는 재료"와 "불소를 방출하지 않는 재료"로 나뉘어지는데, 세균의 활동에 의해 형성된 우식성 병소의 수복에는 불소를 방출하는 재료를 사용하는 것이 추천된다. 우수한 심미성과 보다 강력한 유지력이 요구되는 경우에는 복합 레진계 수복 재료들을 사용하여 수복하게 되는데, 이 경우에는 "접착 술식(bonding procedure)"이 중요한 역할을 수행하게 된다. "접착 술식"은 수복물의 일차적인 유지 뿐 아니라 지각과민을 해소하고 2차 우식을 방지하며, 궁극적으로 수복물의 수명을 좌우하는 결정적인 역할을 수행한다. 자연 치아를 최대한 보존하고자 하는 "최소침습(minimum intervention)" 개념에 바탕을 두고 세심하게 형성된 와동에 각각의 증례에 최적화된 수복 재료를 선택하여 수복치료를 시행한다면 보다 심미적이고 환자가 편안한 치경부 수복물을 완성할 수 있을 것이다.

I think the following conditions should be met for a successful anterior aesthetic restorations. They include the patient's facial and dental harmony, the coordination between the tooth and periodontal tissue, and the continuity with the adjacent teeth. However, in the laboratory process of making restorations, the dental technician works on the model without meeting the patient in person, so he or she has to rely on his or her knowledge and skills to make restoration within limited information. In this article, I discuss the biological criteria that I think as a dental technician and the forms of restorations and how to grant them to the sound periodontal condition.

Monolithic zirconia has been widely used in fixed partial dentures due to high strength and fracture toughness. Nevertheless, the usage of monolithic zirconia in anterior restoration was limited because of opacity. Recently, esthetic monolithic zirconia blocks are developed by improving translucency and using various shading systems. Manufacturer introduces 3M $Lava^{TM}$ Esthetic with increased cubic phase and fluorescent ingredients is more esthetic than previous monolithic zirconia. This case report describes favorable anterior restorations using translucent monolithic zirconia.

When maxillary anterior tooth is extracted due to alveolar bone loss, the augmentation of alveolar ridge is very important for esthetic implant restoration. Because alveolar bone loss increases after extraction, the ridge preservation performed right after tooth extraction is meaningful for esthetic implant restoration. However, no achievement of primary closure during ridge preservation can negatively affect bone regeneration. To overcome this problem, we can use granulation tissue in the extraction socket for primary closure. This case report confirmed that primary closure using granulation tissue resulted in not only ridge preservation but also ridge augmentation by providing an environment more advantageous of bone regeneration than the open wound.

This study excludes how to define the concepts and categories of the Ah-ak(雅樂) and Sok-ak(俗樂). In the process from the early Joseon Dynasty to the late Joseon Dynasty, the aesthetic appreciation system of the Ah-Sok(雅俗) in traditional music, which is consistently projected on court music and folk music centered on Pungryubang, was revealed through specific historical records. Through this study, we were able to examine as follow : In the early Joseon Dynasty, the aesthetic of music related to the the Ah-Sok(雅俗) was mainly projected on the court's ritual music and Yeonhyangak-music for korean court banquet-, and in particular, the aesthetic thoughts of Geomungo[玄琴] was at the center. As we descend to the late Joseon Dynasty, the aesthetic of music related to the Ah-Sok(雅俗) has been expanded to the private sector, reflecting the aesthetic of Pungryubang music, and it can be seen that the aesthetic thought of Geomungo[玄琴] was at the center.

This paper is a product design convergence study to improve the aesthetic quality of CIGS solar cells for utilizing urban living structures, identifying problems of existing solar cell panels and drawing expert aesthetic elements for improving CIGS solar cells through survey and [Group discussion of experts] based on aesthetic elements of product design. Out of the aesthetic elements derived, the top three models of the product design process were 'environmental harmonization', 'pattern balance', and 'period universality' to derive the design and assembly design of the CIGS solar cell module for improving aesthetic quality, and applied to apartments, veranda, windows, and streetcar through product simulation. This study is suitable for applying aesthetic and CIGS solar cell function later to actual urban living structure, and future research direction needs to be studied on various patterns and structural design development of design.

In this study, aesthetic impressions were used for a high-level feature of image retrieval. The term, 'aesthetic' has been studied in psychology, art, and literature. It means unconscious, instantaneous parts of visual perception and emotion. The literatures related to aesthetic impressions were reviewed and four kinds of aesthetic impressions were defined operationally : strong impression, soft impression, courteous impression, and refined impression. 66 image files of paintings were sampled randomly from 1100 paintings and low-level color features were extracted from them by a using perceptual color model(Lai, & Tait, 1998). The high-level features of an image, that is, four kinds of aesthetic impressions of each painting were measured by 4 subjects and averaged. In CBIR, 2 subjects performed image retrievals using example queries. They were asked to retrieve images by using the aesthetic impressions or the keywords. In evaluations, subjects showed that they were satisfied with the aesthetic impression-based image retrieval system on the average. And R-precision of the image retrieval with both color features and aesthetic impressions was higher than that of the image retrieval with color features only. But further studies with larger test collections and query sets should be followed for generalization of the result of this study.

Recently, there are cases where anterior esthetic prostheses are fabricated for better esthetics, but biologic, mechanical factors could be overlooked, too focusing on esthetic factor. This leads to changes in neutral zone, dentition, position of tongue and lips, occlusion and anterior guidance causing inaccurate pronunciation. Therefore, consideration of systematic diagnosis and treatment procedure are required. In this case, prosthesis was refabricated through a systematic diagnosis and treatment procedure using four factor (acoustic analysis, esthetic analysis, occlusion, neutral zone) for the patient who complained of inaccurate pronunciation and esthetics of the fixed prosthesis fabricated 10 years ago. Thus, by promoting functional, esthetic recovery, this case report demonstrates satisfying results to both the patient and dentist.
