  • 본 논문에서는 일대일 전송에 국한되어 사용되는 전이중 패스트 이더넷 방식을 응용하여 고속 브로드 캐스팅 통신망을 구성하고 실시간 전송을 요구하는 데이터를 효율적으로 전달할 수 있는 알고리듬을 제시한다. 제안된 통신망의 세부구조와 통신망의 데이터 송수신 동작 등을 설명하고, 실시간 데이터 전송을 보장하기 위하여 실시간 메시지 스케줄링 알고리듬을 제시한다. 제시된 알고리듬을 적용하였을 때의 각종 시변수들에 대한 수학적인 분석을 통하여 실시간성 보장에 대한 성능평가를 포함한 통신망 성능 평가를 수행한다. 제안된 통신망 FER(Full-duplex Ethernet networks for Real-time communication)의 실제 구현 및 응용 대상에 대해서 언급한다.

  • 본 고에서는 IEEE 802.3 이더넷 LAN에서 TCP/IP를 이용한 VoD서비스를 구현하고, VoD 서비스에서 고려해야 할 사항들을 제시한다. VHS 품질의 비디오를 제공하기 위하여 MPEG-1 을 준수한 복호기를 구현하여 사용하고, 대화형 서비스를 제공하기 위해 서버의 정보를 화일 형태로 클라이언트 시스템에 제공하는 방법을 사용한다. 응용물은 윈도우3. 1에서 동작한다. Backbone으로 FDDI를 사용하며 Router와 이더넷을 사용하는 광운대학교 LAN에 연결하여 실험을 한다. 제작한 프로타타입 시스템은 실시간으로 VHS 수준의 품질을 제공한다.

  • This paper describes the implementation of DCS communication network that provides high bandwidth and reliability. The network for DCS in this paper adopts the Reflective Memory (RM) architecture and Fast Ethernet physical media that have 100 Mbps bandwidth. Also, This network uses Ring Enhancement Device (RED) which is invented to reduce the time delay of each node. The DCS network that is introduced in this paper is named as ERCNet (Ethernet based Real-time Control Network). This paper describes the architecture and working algorithms of ERCNet and performs numerical analysis. In addition, the performance of ERCNet is evaluated by experiment using the developed ERCNet network.

  • In this paper, we consider the following two issues for implementing the synchronous Ethernet systems. First, a synchronous Ethernet system employs a fixed size superframe which is divided into a synchronous period and an asynchronous one. We note that the starting point of a superframe is not deterministic when an ordinary data frame's transmission is overlapped the superframe boundary. This overlap may be a fatal drawback for strict jitter bounded applications. Circumventing the problem, we propose a frame fragmentation scheme to provide a zero jitter, and compare its delay performance with the hold scheme which also provides the zero jitter. We next concern that IEEE 802.3x pause frames cannot be promptly transmitted in a synchronous period, and thus asynchronous traffics may be dramatically get dropped at the input buffer of a switch. To handle the problem, we propose an efficient flow control by allowing the transmission of the pause frame in a synchronous period, and investigate the blocking probability of the asynchronous traffics by the simulation.

  • This paper proposes a reliability enhancement of industrial real-time Ethernet using master redundancy method for NPPs(Nuclear Power Plants). In this paper, Ethernet Powerlink is investigated for distributed control systems for NPPs considering real-time and reliability performance. The proposed method can reduce a master switch-over time using PReq signal when Ethernet Powerlink master(Managing Node) failure was occurred. Using the OPNET simulation results, the performance enhancement of master switch-over time of Ethernet Powerlink is verified for NPPs.

  • 본 논문에서는 산업 현장의 자동화 시스템의 네트워크에서 실시간 제어를 보장하면서 대량의 데이터를 처리할 수 있는 개방형 표준 이더넷 호환성을 가지고 있는 산업용 이더넷프로토콜인 EtherCAT[4]을 기반으로한 모터 BLDC 모터 제어용 인터페이스 모듈을 설계, 구현하고 이를 BLDC 모터 제어 시스템에 적용하여 네트워크 기반의 제어 기법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • Recently, new appliances have become built-in ethernet Port but most of the old devices have serial port. So, it complicates and needs long time to maintain at a long distance. It can only controllable and fixable using modem. In this paper, we developed an embedded STEP converter within Linux operating system and other application software so that serial devices(PBX) can control in the ethernet network After completion of development processes, test was conducted. In the remote places, it was connected the STEP converter and controled the serial PBX. Finally, we confirmed that it can apply to other equipments.

  • This paper discusses a design and performance analysis of control network on large-scaled ship. Ship control network can be composed many actuator, sensors and controllers considering reliability and real-time performance. SMS(Ship Message Specification) is based on real time Ethernet is proposed for ship control networks. Considering ship environment, the proposed scheme is investigated through computer simulation.

Physical Topology Discovery Algorithm for Ethernet Mesh Networks (이더넷 메시 망에서의 물리 토폴로지 발견 알고리즘)

  • Earlier researches have typically concentrated on discovering IP network topology, which implies that the connectivity of all Ethernet devices is ignored. But automatic discovery of Physical topology Plays a crucial role in enhancing the manageability of modem Metro Ethernet mesh networks due to the benefits of Ethernet services, including: Ease of use, Cost Effectiveness and flexibility. Because of proprietary solutions targeting specific product families and related algorithm which depends on Layer 2 forwarding table information it is impossible to discover physical topology in the Ethernet mesh networks. To cope with these shortcomings, in this paper we propose a novel and practical algorithmic solution that can discover accurate physical topology in the Ethernet mesh networks. Our algorithm divides the Ethernet mesh networks into bridged networks and host networks and those bridges located in boundary are named edge bridges. Our algorithm uses the standard spanning tree protocol MIB information for the bridged networks and uses the standard Layer 2 forwarding table MIB information for the host networks. As using the standard MIB information to discover physical topology we can offer interoperability guarantee in the Ethernet mesh networks composed of the various vendors' products.
