  • This study attempted to identify convergence effect factors affecting career-preparation behavior among nursing students with clinical practice. Study participants were 159 students in D city and data were collected from September 25 to October 4, 2014. Participants' responses were analyzed using a stepwise regression analysis. As results, satisfaction with major, professional values, and positive psychological capital were positively correlated with career-preparation behavior. Significant and convergence predictors of career-preparation behavior were curriculum satisfaction, a subdomain of major satisfaction, and social awareness as a professional value. These findings showed that nursing students' career-preparation behavior was partly determined by major satisfaction and nursing professional values. positive psychological capital need to be investigated as a convergent influence factor of career preparation behavior of nursing students by further study.

  • This study examined the influence of meta-cognition, self-efficiency and clinical competence in nursing students. A convenience sample of 153 subjects were recruited from fourth year nursing students, and the survey was conducted from September 1st to 30th 2015. The data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed SPSS/Win 18.0 program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, t-test, one-way ANOVA and hierarchical regression. Significant positive correlation among the meta-cognition, self-efficiency and clinical competence were found. The regression model explained 27% of the clinical competence. The meta-cognition and self-efficiency for the nursing students were factors influencing clinical competence. Therefor, it is necessary develop an educational program to improve the meta-cognition and self-efficiency of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the eighth grade students' performance of open investigations for two kinds of tasks: the qualitative one which involves the descriptive approach through observation, and the quantitative one which involves the quantitative data processing through control of variables. Researcher's observation, interview data as well as students' investigation reports, self-evaluations were analysed. The difficulties of qualitative open investigation lie in detecting and dealing with unexpected observations, of which the acceptance and interpretation were influenced by preconceptions. On the other hand, managing several variables, making reliable and valid measures, and quantitative data processing constituted main difficulties of quantitative open investigation. Some students could recognize the deficiencies of their methods and findings in qualitative one, but few in quantitative one. These results suggest the teaching point for each task of open investigations.

  • This study seeks to propose and develop library science courses required in the digital age by investigating overseas LIS courses and surveying field librarians. Such courses must help the future librarian develop familiarity and skill with emerging technologies. As a result, required courses in the digital era were found to be: 'Design and Management of Databases', 'Library Planning, Marketing, and Assessment', 'Understanding Information Technology for Managing Digital Collections', and 'Information and Communication in a Digital Age' in that order, and should therefore be offered as core courses. In addition, 'Service for Information Disadvantaged Users' and 'Organization and Utilization of Web resources' were derived. The study also recommends different required courses based on different librarian types and duties.

This program was mainly designed for improving self-efficacy of older adults and enhancing their communication in the community by using SNS. This program was composed of several sub-programs; understanding the value of communication, meeting with SNS users, SNS education and practice, having activities with SNS, promoting SNS, holding public rehearsals and starting ceremony, and having off-line meeting. This study applied analytical framework based on logic model of systems theory, collected data from the subject group, and evaluated the sub-programs on dimensions of process and outcome. The results showed that this program has an effect on improving self-efficacy through participating SNS activities, enhancing communication through boosting SNS, creating new culture for older adults, and changing attitudes between generations. Based on these results, the practical guidelines for expanding the communication enhancement program through SNS, leading by older adults in the community, were suggested.

  • Study analyzes whether the 3D CAD class using the flipped learning-based PBL is effective in acquiring professional knowledge and nurturing talent. A Flipped Learning-based PBL class was implemented for 3rd grade students of Robot and Automation Engineering Major, Dong-Eui University, and a survey was conducted on satisfaction and effectiveness. The students seemed to be generally satisfied with the class, and the flipped learning-based PBL appeared to be effective in improving the competency required by companies. In particular, it is hoped that it will contribute to the use of video education in practical subjects in the future by proving that practical classes can be operated effectively even in non-face-to-face learning. Moreover, this study is an important indicator for future research and will be used as a quantitative indicator for class improvement.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the curriculum implementation of 「Food Safety and Health」, a Home Economics elective course, for high school students. Accordingly, several units of the 「Food Safety and Health」curriculum were piloted in six high schools in Chungbuk, Gyeonggi, Daejeon, and Sejong, and 1,199 questionnaires collected from students who participated in the classes were analyzed. The results are as follows. The 「Food Safety and Health」class had a significant effect on improving the total score of 'food safety and health' knowledge of high school students and scores for sub-dimensional area. Compared to the pre-test, the overall rate of correct answers for the post-test has increased by 7.99%p, and schools that implemented the relevant unit class relatively more had higher improvement scores. In addition, the 「Food Safety and Health」class has positively changed the eating behavior of high school students, and had a significant effect on having a habit of eating a variety of foods evenly. High school students who participated in the 「Food Safety and Health」class evaluated their classes very positively (4.27 out of 5 points), and responded that the content of the class was interesting, easy to understand, and helpful for their diet in daily life. According to the responses to the open-ended questions, students responded that the class was helpful in acquiring food-related knowledge in their real lives, while there were so many limitations for experiencing lab class and group activities due to COVID 19. In preparation for the high school credit system, this study is meaningful that it has expanded the elective courses in home economics area, as well as the right to choose subjects for high school students.
