A Study on the Consumer-required Attributes of Apparel Product for New Elderly Women (뉴 실버 의류제품 요구속성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper studied the apparel product attributes that women in the new elderly generation require in formal wears and in casual wears. The purpose of this study was to provide the design guideline when considering the changing and diverse buying patterns of the new elderly female consumers as opposed to the traditional elderly generation. We employed a qualitative study methodology of one-on-one in-depth interview with open coding. Between August 10 and October 3 of 2012, we interviewed sixteen female consumers of age 60 or above residing in the metropolitan area who considered themselves as young-minded. Our findings were as follows: The consumer-required attributes that the new elderly women wanted to present have five dimensions of symbolism, aesthetic, fitness, usefulness, and maintenance. The main focus of the apparel product attributes that the new elderly women wanted was the dimension of symbolism in formal wears and the dimensions of usefulness and maintenance in casual wears. The new elderly females were the emerging group of consumers of diversified clothing products who emphasized overall balance and wore appropriately for occasions. Apparel products for the new elderly females should incorporate the design attributes that they want as well as the overall balance among individual wears.

The Elderly's Lifestyle and Their Purchasing Behavior of Apparel Products and Hairdressing Services (실버소비자들의 라이프스타일에 따른 의류제품과 미용서비스 구매행동)

  • Recently, the growing of the aging population resulting from the medical and science development has made the elderly consumer as a new market. The purposes of this study were 1) to examine the purchase behavior of apparel products and hairdressing services of elderly consumers, 2) to investigate the purchase behavior in the apparel store and hairdressing shop on lifestyle types. Data were collected from 853 women in their 50s and 60s living in Busan. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach#s alpha, Chi-square analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and Duncan test using SPSS WIN 12.0. The results of the study were as follows: First. when elderly consumers purchased apparel product, they were likely to use credit cards, to shop alone or with friends at a department store, and to use the store as information source. In their purchases of hairdressing services, they tended to visit the near shop for a permanent service bimonthly and to depend on their past experiences for hairdressing. Second, elderly consumers were classified by the lifestyle into the Active self-fidelitist, Economy family-oriented, and Passive-stagnant. The purchase behaviors in the apparel store and hairdressing shop were different among lifestyle types. Implications were suggested for the consumer behavior researchers and retailers of the elderly fashion market.

Effects of Inhaling Essential Oils from Lavender, Silver Fir, Grapefruit on the Restraint Stress in Mice (라벤더, 실버퍼, 그레이프후룻 정유 흡입이 마우스의 구속 스트레스에 미치는 효과)

  • The effects of inhaling three essential oils (lavender [Lavendular angustifolia], silver fir [Abies alba], and grapefruit [Citrus paradise]) against restraint stress were investigated in mice. Serum cortisol levels were significantly increased in the 1h-restraint group. Also, silver fir and grapefruit oils prevented the elevation of cortisol levels under experimental conditions. Inhalation of 10% lavender oil for 30 min before inducing stress significantly inhibited restraint-induced hypothermia. We also investigated the effects of restraint stress on triglycerides, total cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. It was found that the concentration of triglycerides in the serum samples increased after restraint stress. Silver fir essential oil inhibited elevation of triglyceride levels. Taken all together, the correlation of herb essential oil inhalation against restraint stress in animals can partly be explained.

Effects of Service Quality on Consumer Satisfaction and Repurchase Intention of Apparel Products and Hairdressing Services for Silver Consumers (의류제품과 미용서비스 구매시 점포서비스품질이 실버소비자만족 및 재구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, the growing of the aging population by medical and science development, silver consumers were became new consumption market. The purposes of this study were to investigate the effects of service quality on consumer satisfaction and repurchase intention in the apparel store and hairdressing shop. Data were obtained from 853 women in the 50's and 60's who living in Busan. Data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, 1-test, and path analysis using SPSS WIN 12.0. The results of the study were as follows: First, service qualities of apparel store were composed of Personal Service, Facilities Service, Product Service, and Policy Service. Service quality of hairdressing shop were consisted of Personal Service, Facilities Service, Skill Service, and Policy Service. Second, repurchasing intention was differently influenced by perceived store service quality and consumer satisfaction when purchasing apparel products and hairdressing services. Salesperson or hairdresser was the most important variable for silver consumers' satisfaction, which influenced the repurchase intention of apparels or hairdressing services. This research extends a domain of fashion market research from the product to the service. Additionally, this study provides an insight into silver fashion marketers and retailers for developing market strategies for silver common. Implications are drawn for the information useful to consumer behavior researchers and retailers of the silver fashion market.

A Study on the Development of One-Mile Comfort Wear Products for New Silver Women (뉴 실버 여성의 원마일 컴포트웨어 제품개발 연구)

  • Currently, Korea is on the verge of entering into an ultra-aged society and the associated market size is growing. In this regard, customer-centered design that understands the consumer needs of the new silver generation, which is emerging as a new consumer group, and reflects them in products is the key to the success of the high-value-added fashion industry. Therefore, this study reviewed the changes in physical, biological, social, and psychological characteristics of the new silver generation, through a review of related books and previous studies, and secured the direction for clothing product development for the new silver generation. The literature review was supplemented by group interviews to accurately identify the needs of silver consumers. In addition, the study conducted case analysis through web searches of fashion magazines, newspaper articles, brand web sites, and trend information sites to investigate the market trends of one-mile wear products that have emerged due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the characteristics of one-mile wear brands, and products for new silver women, including size specification analysis and sewing techniques that minimize skin irritation while reflecting the consumer's characteristics. Based on the results of this study, a competitive design and product development were proposed from an economic and industrial perspective that can enhance the product value and maximize the marketing effect by developing consumer-oriented one-mile comfort wear products with aesthetic, practical, functional, and economic values that satisfy the characteristics and needs of new silver women.

고령자를 위한 u-Healthcare 기반의 FitWellness 서비스

  • u-Health 관련 보건 비용의 지속적인 증가와 건강 및 사전 예방에 대한 관심이 증가함에 따라 온라인을 통한 상담, 정보제공, 동영상 서비스 및 e-commerce등 건강 관련 서비스 시장이 확대가 되고 있다. 특히 노령인구의 급증에 따른 국내 고령층에 대한 실버산업이 대두되고 있다. u-Health 의료산업은 원무행정 분야에 대한 초기 정보화 단계에 있으며, 대학/종합병원들의 IT예산은 급속히 증가하고 있으나, 중소형 병/의원/약국의 경우 IT 투자예산 확보에 어려움이 있다. 이를 대처하기 위해 u-Health와 Wellness를 통합 함으로서 BT, NT 및 IT 관련 기술을 활용하여 u-Fitwellness 시스템을 구축하여 Ubiquitous 네트워크를 통해 고령자를 위한 건강과 의료관련 서비스, 제품, 정보를 제공하고 개인의 삶의질을 향상시킴으로써 홈 네트워킹 기반 u-Healthcare Total Solution을 통한 융합형 서비스를 제안하고자 한다.

인간과 교감하는 감성로봇 관련 기술 및 개발 동향

  • 최근 들어 로봇 기술은 팔과 다리가 달린 인간형 로봇 휴머노이드(Humanoid)와 같이 겉모습뿐만 아니라 히노애락(喜怒哀樂)과 같은 인간의 감정을 흉내 내는 지능형 감성로봇(Emotional robot)으로 진화하고 있으며, 사물인터넷(Internet of things, IoT), 빅데이터(Big data) 및 인공지능(Artificial intelligence, AI) 기술까지 융합하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이러한 기술 발전을 기반으로 로봇산업은 전통적인 제조업뿐만 아니라 의료, 실버, 국방, 건설, 생활가전, 물류, 드론 등 다양한 분야에서 활용이 가능하며, 또한 교육, 문화, 예술에도 접목을 할 수 있어 넓은 분야에서 발전 가능성이 매우 큰 산업이다. 본 논문에서는 인간과 교감하는 감성로봇의 개념과 주요 기술을 소개한다. 아울러, 최근까지 연구 개발되었거나 제품으로 출시되었던 감성로봇 사례를 소개하고 향후 전망에 대해서 논의한다.

  • 모바일폰의 컨버전스가 가속화됨에 따라 사용자가 습득해야 할 정보량이 증가하였고, 사용자들이 이를 이용하기 위하여 학습과 숙련의 과정을 거쳐야 하는 부담이 발생하게 되었다. 모바일폰의 주 사용자층인 20-40대 외에 10대와 50대 이상의 이동전화 이용률이 꾸준히 증가하여 실버폰과 키즈폰 시장이 형성될 조짐을 보이고 있지만, 제조사에서는 획일적인 인터페이스 디자인만을 제공하여 다양한 사용자 층의 요구와도 서로 맞지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 모바일폰의 휴먼인터페이스 요소 중 메뉴요소에 해당하는 메인메뉴의 네비게이션 방식에 중점을 두어 각 사용자 유형별로 사용성을 측정하였다. 국내외 모바일폰 제조사에서 2006년 출시된 제품에서 메인메뉴 네비게이션 방식을 추출하여 8가지로 분류하였으며, 이를 토대로 플래시 기반의 시뮬레이터를 제작하여 사용성 측정에 이용하였다. 모바일 사용성 평가를 위한 요인을 중심으로 10대부터 60대 이상의 다양한 사용자를 대상으로 시뮬레이터 사용을 관찰하여 분석하였으며 또한 기존에 사용하고 있는 모바일폰 기종을 고려하여 설문지로 사용성에 대한 만족도를 평가하는 방식도 병행하였다. 본 연구에서는 사용자 유형별로 사용성이 높은 인터페이스를 선별하고 사용자의 개성과 선호도를 고려한 선택적인 UI 개발방향을 제안하였다.

  • 현재 의료기술의 발달로 실버 인구가 늘어남에 따라 주변의 도움이 필요한 일들이 많아지고 있다. 특히 무거운 물체를 옮기는데 도움이 필요한 경우가 많은 것이 현실이다. 그래서 사용자를 따라다니며 도움을 주는 로봇의 필요성이 인식되면서 추적로봇이 만들어지고 있다. 기존방식은 초음파를 이용하는데 이와 같은 방식은 송신기를 휴대해야 한다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 그것을 보완하기 위한방법으로 카메라를 이용하여 영상처리를 통한 방식을 제안한다. 표적을 부착함으로써 사용자를 인식 및 추적이 가능하게 됨으로써 생활에 편리한 제품으로 자리 잡을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A Case Study on Curriculum for Re-educational Work of Field Engineers for Invigorating The Elderly-Friendly Industry (고령친화산업체의 활성화를 위한 현장인력재교육사업 교과과정 사례 연구)

  • In this paper, to invigorate elderly-friendly industry, a case study on curriculum for re-educational work of the field engineers is introduced. The curriculum has been developed to retrain technicians and engineers in IT-based elderly-friendly business industry, to help them develop elderly-friendly products, and it have been evolved by operating it and analyzing outcome and satisfaction levels since August in 2009. The re-education work of the field engineers are designed for invigorating the IT-based elderly-friendly business industry, based on the instruction system design(ISD) model. To develop IT-based elderly-friendly products, the elderly-friendly accessible design and the elderly-friendly living and health care equipment design are required. For the elderly-friendly accessible design, it consists of "Elderly-Friendly Engineering Based on Human Characteristics", "Color Sensibility and Universal Design for The Elderly", and "Design Understanding and Process". For the elderly-friendly living and health care equipment design, it consists of "Embedded System Design and Debugging Experiments for Elderly-Friendly IT Equipment", "Elderly-Friendly Android Implementation Design", and "Design and Experiments of Silver-care Android-based Smart Equipment".
