Evaluation Methode for LPMS Sensor of Nuclear Power Plant (원자력발전소 금속파편감시계통 센서 건전성 평가)

  • 원자력발전소의 금속파편감시계통(LPMS : Loose Parts Monitoring System)은 원자로냉각재계통 내부에 존재할 수 있는 금속 이물질과 구조물 이완부에 의한 충격신호를 조기에 검출하여 원자로 구조물 및 핵연료 손상, 제어봉 구동장애 등을 미연에 방지하여 발전소 안전운전을 담당하는 중요 감시설비이다. LPMS는 금속 이물질이나 구조물 이완부에 의한 충격신호를 검출하기 위해 충격파에 민감한 가속도계를 원자로냉각재계통 중 금속파편이 자연적으로 모일 수 있는 각 구역의 표면에 최소 2개 이상 설치되어 있다. 원전은 규제요건에 따라 설비의 건전성 확인을 위해 24시간, 7일, 31일, 91일 마다 각 1회의 설비 건전성 시험을 수행하며, 계획예방정비기간 중에는 가속도계 주변에서 강구나 스프링 타격기를 이용한 충격시험을 통해 설비 전체의 건전성을 확인하고 있다. 설비 건전성 확인을 위해 경상운전 중에 수행하는 설비 건전성 시험에는 설비 특성상 가속도계 및 전치증폭기의 건전성을 확인할 수 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 경상운전 중 가속도계와 전치증폭기의 건전성을 확인할 수 있는 기법을 제시하고자 한다.

A Maximum Power Point Tracking circuit for Thermoelectric Generators using a Boost DC-DC converter (부스트 컨버터를 이용한 열전소자의 최대전력점 추적회로)

  • We have proposed a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) circuit for thermoelectric generator (TEG) using a Boost converter. The key point of the proposed MPPT circuit is that the duty ratio of the boost converter automatically moves to Maximum Power Point by comparing of consecutive sampling voltage using two comparators. From the simulation results, we showed that the proposed circuit can find the maximum power point within 2 CLK periods and to generate optimal PWM signal within 3 CLK periods. The proposed MPPT circuit was designed by using a CMOS 0.18 um process, and it is now on the fabrication.

  • An actuator system is a type of motor designed to control a mechanism operated by a source of energy, in the form of an electric current by converting energy into some kind of motion. As audio actuators, transforming electric voltage signal into audio signal, speakers and amplifiers are commonly used. In applications of industry, high output power systems are required. For these systems to generate high-quality output, it is essential to control output impedance of audio systems. We have developed an adaptable power supply for driving active amplifier systems with variable loads. Depending on the changing values of resistance of the speaker which produces audible sound by transforming electric voltage signal, the power supply source of the active amplifier can generate the maximum power delivered to the speaker by an adaptable change of loads. The amplifier is well protected from the abrupt increment of peak current and an excess of current flow.

  • A new high performance and low cost unified power system is proposed through investigating conventional Power-Integrated Drive(PID) system and Power-Separated Drive(PSD) system applied to LCD TV. Since the proposed system consists of two stage, namely power and inverter stage it features high efficiency and cost effectiveness. To satisfy the safety standard of the High voltage transformer, 1:1 transformer is employed between inverter and high voltage transformer. Moreover, to ensure the Zero Voltage Switching(ZVS) of all power switches and the Pulse Count Modulation(PCM) method is employed, which controls the number of pulse at the fixed frequency and fixed duty cycle. Therefore, it features high efficiency, improved heat generation, cost effectiveness and good EMI performance including no additional current balancing coil. To confirm the validity of proposed system, comparison of conventional system, verification of experimental results are presented.

  • A large number of motors and sensors are used to drive a humanoid robot. In order to solve the wiring problem that occurs when connecting multiple actuators, a controller based on a communication network has been used, and CAN, which is advantageous in terms of cost and a highly reliable communication protocol, was mainly used. In terms of the structure of the controller, a torque control type structure that is easy to implement an advanced algorithm into the upper controller is preferred. In this case, the low communication bandwidth of CAN becomes a problem, and in order to obtain sufficient communication bandwidth, a communication network is configured by separating into a plurality of CAN networks. In this study, a stability analysis on transmission time delay is performed for a multi-motor control system in which high-speed FlexRay and low-speed CAN communication networks are hierarchically connected in order to obtain a high communication bandwidth, and sensor information and driving signals are delivered within the allowed transmission time. The proposed hierarchical network-based control system is expected to improve control performance because it can implement multiple motor control systems with a single network.

  • In this paper, we proposed the design of the intelligent traffic control system by using multiprocessor architecture. The inter-processor communication of the architecture is implemented by sharing the serial communication channel. In comparing the conventional traffic control system using single processor architecture, the proposed system uses multiple processors controlling the sub systems such as the signal lights, traffic measurement unit, auxiliary signal lights and peripherals. The main processor controls the communication among the processors and the communication protocol link to the central control center at remote site. The proposed architecture reduces the load and simplifies the program of each processor and enables the real time processing of the add-on features of intelligent traffic control systems. The architecture is implemented and the common channel inter-processor communications and the real time operation is experimented .experimented .

  • Interface modules design between image sensor and external components are designed by FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) in this paper. Generally speaking, to satisfy synchronization for the poor quality data in image, SRAM is needed. To receive synchronization signal and image signal data with pixel dimension, the proposed interface logic technique is implemented. From the proposed technique, we can obtain more clear screen by implementing with pixel dimension. Operating frequency of image sensor and that of TFT-LCD are 50MHz and 6.5MHz, respectively. Most of control logic functions are embedded in FPGA. The designed logic gate counter has 33,216 and is designed by Quartus II.

  • In this paper we propose a VLSI implementation technique for camcorder's digital zooming system. The proposed VLSI includes the system clock(CLK), vertical drive(VD), horizontal drive(HD),blank(BLK), and field(FLD) signals as inputs, and produces magnified image as an output, with 256 different magnification ratios. In general, the above mentioned input signals are provided by the CCD driving IC in most camcorders. As a result, the proposed digital zooming VLSI can magnify a part of the input image by up to 256 times, where the magnification ratio can be chosen among 256 different steps. In the application point of view, the proposed VLSI can be used in any digital camcorder for realizing near continuous step digital zooming without any additional circuitry, such as micom or a general purpose digital signal processor.

  • As Single households increases for reason of communication development, extending human life, there are many problems occuring all over the world. In order to solve this problem with an invasion of privacy and manintain a healthy life, this paper suggest non-contact type bio-signal measurement system using IR-Radar, displacement sensor and Pan-Tilt system. The proposed system can increse the distance of measured respiration from 1m to over 8m, which is comprised of two IR-Radar for location tracking, one displacement sensor for non-contact type bio-signal measurement and one stepping motor drive system. The proposed system is verified through experiments and were confirmed the possibility.

A Study on the System of Performance Test for High-order Aspheric Lens (고차 비구면 렌즈의 성능평가 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • We propose the Fizeau-type phase shifting interferometer(FPSI) system for the performance test of high-order aspheric lenses. The proposed system is divided into two parts : optical part and signal processing part. Those two parts are operated by a program for hardware control. We also developed an analysis program adopting the phase shifting algorithm to analyze the obtained interferograms. We can confirm that the proposed system is efficient and adequate by direct comparison with the standard criterion in Mark IV interferometric system of Zygo. The peak-to-valley and RMS values of surface errors which are used to characterize high-order aspheric lenses are 0.845 wave and 0.1871 wave, respectively. The measurement errors between the proposed system and Mark IV are less than ${\lambda}/100$ and the repeatability is also calculated at less than ${\lambda}/100$.
