Purpose: This study was conducted to identify relationships among nursing activities, the use of body mechanics, and job stress in nurses with low back pain. Methods: Participants were 225 nurses with low back pain working at an university hospital. The data were collected with self-reported questionnaires at March, 2012 and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$e test and multiple regression analyses. Results: There was significantly a higher degree of pain in subjects who working at special units including intensive care units and emergency room than at general wards. Low back pain was negatively correlated with the use of body mechanical principles while it was positively associated with the degree of job stress. According to results of multiple regression analyses, low back pain was significantly associated with the use of body mechanics and job stress in nurses working at general ward and special units including intensive care units and emergency room. Conclusion: The use of the principles of body mechanics and reducing job stress are important to prevent low back pain in nurses. It is necessary to develop and apply stress management and education program about the use of the principles of body mechanics.
We designed this study for verifying the differences of causes and individual results of job stress between Koreans in Korea and Chinese in China of a same company. The results in the study are as follow. Significant differences between two groups were identified in job stressors: Koreans showed higher levels than Chinese for factors like inter-group conflicts, supervision/evaluation, job overload, task characteristics, socio-demographic factors, and Chinese showed higher levels than Koreans for factors like job conflicts, job ambiguity, family-related factors. We also identified that levels of stress perceived by individuals as anxiety, depression, and physical symptoms of Koreans are higher than those of Chinese. As to the influence of job stressors on stress level, Koreans show significant results for supervision/evaluation, decision making/responsibility, family-related factors, and Chinese show significant results for family-related factors, social support, socio-demographic factors. Based on the results of this study, implications, limitations, and future research topics were discussed.

This study investigates the relationship between occupational stress, depression, drinking among heavy industrial male workers. The participants of this study were 312 workers in a local heavy industry. The data were collected by self-report using questionnaires from May to June, 2014. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. t-test, ANOVA, and pearson correlation coefficient, scheffe test, stepwise multiple linear regression with the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. The total mean scores of occupational stress on the subjects were $53.77({\pm}6.33)$, depression were $12.10({\pm}7.44)$, drinking were $10.32({\pm}7.55)$. The study showed that drinking is positively correlated with occupational stress, depression. Also drinking explained 15.9% of occupational stress in heavy industrial male workers. This study provides baseline data for the preparation of management strategies that can address the occupational stress, depression, drinking of heavy industrial male workers.
The meaning and application of 'lesion corporelle' in the context of a variety of mental or psychic injuries is less clear, while there is very little disagreement about its literal translation. U.S. Court decisions since Floyd allow recovery for a range of claims involving emotional injury under Article 17; in some cases there is no recovery, while in others there is full recovery, depending on the allegations and the nexus between the alleged injury and any related or accompanying physical injury. Courts are in agreement that pure emotional injury is not compensable under the Convention. Most courts agree that emotional injury is not compensable in those cases where it has resulted only in physical manifestations such as weight loss or sleeplessness. At the same time, most courts generally agree that emotional injury is compensable if it proximately flows from a physical injury. The issue as to whether the courts would associate PTSD with bodily injury as envisioned in the present Warsaw structure or even the new regime reflected in the Convention proposed by ICAO would largely depend on the extent to which courts would be ready to embrace the compelling scientific findings with regard to mental distress and its application within the term 'bodily injury'. Taken together, these points when the current under Article 17 of the Warsaw Convention, 'physical injury' notion of 'mental injury' is to be extended. Of course, the current terms of the Warsaw Convention have been maintaining a precedent for many countries appear to have a statue of the original purpose of the treaty does not contribute to the diffusion. Therefore, in future treaties 'bodily injury', the term 'injury', the term 'personal injury' or 'health undermined' the term should be replaced or revised.
The purpose of this study was to examine factors related to the oral health by stress in college women. This survey was conducted between June 16, 2014 and July 18, 2014 to investigate the correlation between stress and oral health Data were obtained from 393 women students of 5 colleges in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do. The oral health of college students is related with the stress which has a correlation between oral condition satisfaction(-) and inconvenient(+) of mastication and pronunciation (p<0.01). Also, factors affecting stress are discomfort during mastication and oral state satisfaction and discomfort during mastication. The discomfort during mastication showed the highest stress while the higher status of oral satisfaction showed lower stress (p<0.05). Therefore, college women stress is related with oral health. Colleges should consider developing a program which can appropriately manage and regulate stress to relieve their stress.

Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the correlation between defense mechanism and posttraumatic stress disorder in burn patients. Methods : We recruit 40 burn patients and we evaluate sociodemographic characteristics, characteristics related to burn, korean version of Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), Korean Version of Center for epidemiologic studies depression scale (CES-D) and Ewha Defense Mechanisms Test (EDMT). Multiple regression analysis was performed to evaluate the correlation between EDMT score and IES-R score. Results : Factor 2 of EDMT which consists of Ego-expansion subjects was significantly correlate with IER-S score. In factor 2, Controlling (β=-0.299, p<0.05), Sublimation (β=-0.276, p<0.05) is significantly correlate with IER-S score. Conclusions : Some subjects of defense mechanism was significantly correlate with IES-R score. it might be helpful to understand defense mechanism for the posttraumatic stress disorder in burn patients.
Objectives : The object of this study was to investigate the relationship between coping strategies and perceived stress or pain discomfort in patients with chronic low back pain. 80 patients with chronic low back pain and 100 normal controls participated in this study. Methods: Global assessment of recent stress (GARS) scale and Stress Response Inventory (SRI) were used to measure perception for stressors and stress responses. Coping scale and pain discomfort scale were used to measure coping strategies and pain perception. Results : Scores of perceived stress related to work or job, interpersonal relationship, changes in relationship, sickness or illness and the total scores on the GARS scale were significantly higher in those with chronic low back pain than normal controls. Scores of the SRI fatigue subscale scored significantly higher in those with chronic low back pain than normal controls. No significant difference was found on total scores of the pain discomfort scale between those with chronic low back pain and normal controls. The patients with chronic low back pain scored significantly higher on planful problem solving and positive reappraisal than normal controls. In the patient group, pain perception had significant positive correlations with total scores of the SRI and scores of stress perception related to illness or injury. The extent of escape-avoidance showed significant negative correlations with age, whereas the extent of distancing or escape-avoidance had significant negative correlations with the level of education. Significant difference was also found in accepting responsibilities between male subjects and females. However, no significant correlations were found between coping strategies and perceived stressors, stress responses or pain perception. Conclusion : The results suggest that patients with chronic low back pain were more likely to use more active coping strategies than normal controls, though the former had more perception for stressors than the latter. It was also found that coping strategies used by the patients were associated with sociodemographic factors, but that they were not associated with perceived stressors, stress responses or pain perception.
