  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of physical activity in the elderly with osteoarthritis on stress and health-related quality of life (EQ-5D). This study performed data analysis using the SPSS 17.0 program in 104 elderly people with osteoarthritis over 65 years old using raw data from the 7th National Health and Nutrition Survey. The main results of this study are as follows: Males exercised more strength than women, and the better the subjective health status, the higher the rate of walking and aerobic activity. The group that felt stress showed a higher rate of walking and aerobic activity than the group that had no stress, and one group that felt a little stress practiced walking more than 3 days. The exercise ability of the elderly with osteoarthritis was better in the group who practiced walking, strength training, and aerobic activity than in the group without physical activity, and in self-management, the group practicing exercise and aerobic activity had problems with self-management. There was no daily activity, and the group that practiced walking and strength training also showed a high level of daily activity. In the area of pain/discomfort, the group practicing walking showed less pain/discomfort, and in the area of anxiety/depression, the group practicing walking showed less anxiety/depression. In conclusion, it is considered that in order to increase the quality of life of the elderly with osteoarthritis and to manage the stress, active efforts to increase the level of physical activity are necessary.

The obtained results were as follows; 1. The average burnout points are 2.61, and we could gain each point as follows; emotional burnout 2.76, physical burnout 3.41, and declination of job efficiency 2.77. 2. The job satisfaction was under the greatest influence of the emotional burnout, followed by declination of job efficiency, physical burnout. All the factors had a negative impact on their job satisfaction. 3. The turnover intention was under the greatest influence of the communication, followed by workload, freedom factor, rationality of organization, and possibilities of workplace.

  • In this paper, we propose Modified Multi CAMShift Algorithm based on Kalman filter and Weighted Search Windows(KWMCAMShift) that extracts skin color area and tracks several human body parts for real-time human tracking system. We propose modified CAMShift algorithm that generates background model, extracts skin area of hands and head, and tracks the body parts. Kalman filter stabilizes tracking search window of skin area due to changing skin area in consecutive frames. Each occlusion areas is avoided by using weighted window of non-search areas and main-search area. And shadows are eliminated from background model and intensity of shadow. The proposed KWMCAMShift algorithm can estimate human pose in real-time and achieves 96.82% accuracy even in the case of occlusions.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the association of oral health of the elderly and oral health quality of life. The subjects of this study were 282 participants who received the fluoride application and the scaling service through program targeting elderly people carried out by a public health center located in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. Data were collected from January 2011 to December 2011. The result of comparing subscale scores of quality of life related to oral health depending on socioeconomic characteristics showed that functional limitation scores were lower as educational level got higher. The result of comparing subscale scores of quality of life related to oral health depending on status of oral health and frequency of tooth brushing showed that quality in functional limitations, physical pain, psychological discomfort, physical disability, psychological disability, social disability and handicap scores were lower as the number of cavities got more. The result of multiple regression analysis to identify the factors affecting the quality of life related to oral health showed that the number of cavities and installation of denture were significant variables. The results of this study showed that there was significant association of oral health status and oral health related quality of life of the elderly. In order to maintain the oral health related quality of life, it is important to keep many number of residual teeth even if a person gets older and to support the installation of dentures if necessary.
