Development and Evaluation of an Indirect Illumination for Tongue Image Acquisition (설 영상 획득을 위한 간접 조명 구현 및 평가)

  • The color and shape of the tongue reflect the physiological and clinico-pathological condition of the body. Recently, various tongue image acquisition devices have been developed for accurate diagnosis based on quantitative and objective tongue features. Since a color information is essential for tongue diagnosis, the performance of an illuminator is very important for the tongue image acquisition device. In this study, we developed an indirect illumination, which is possible to improve a homogeneity of light intensities on the tongue surface, and evaluated its performances. In order to realize the indirect illumination (II), a semi-ellipsoidal solid structure (SESS) for the light reflex was located in the system, and two high-brightness white LEDs were placed for illuminating the areas under frontal camera in the SESS. The tongue surface was illuminated by reflected light from the SESS. The light homogeneity induced by three different illuminations including the II was evaluated by calculating coefficient of variation (CV) of illuminance of five regions. The II showed less than 0.01 of CV and the direct illumination (DI) and the direct illumination with a light diffusion plate (DILDP) showed 0.16 and 0.13, respectively. The reflexed pixel ratios of tongue phantom images show 5.76%, 4.22%, 1.79% for the DI, the DILDP and the II, respectively. The homogeneity of a tongue phantom was evaluated by calculating CV of mean pixel values of six different tongue regions, and showed less than 0.06 in the II. If the II technique apply to tongue diagnosis system, it is expected to improve diagnostic accuracy in clinic.

  • These days, school education is making every possible effort to bring up a human able to opposed creatively to 21 century social, because of society is global and informational step by step. For this, the special activity in the seventh curriculum is expended and reorganized from three areas to five areas. On the other hand, the special activity is pushed ahead with the developmental activity in consideration of student's ability and aptitude. However, the teachers are difficult to organize of the developmental activity in based on student's ability and aptitude. Because of developmental activity is organized in the beginning of a term, not only the teachers are fallen to realize student's ability and aptitude but also students ignore ability and aptitude themselves. Therefore this paper designs a program based on MI(Multiple Intelligence) theory to compose developmental activity effectively. Up to now, MI is introduced nine kinds of intelligence, Linguistic Intelligence, Logical-Mathematical Intelligence, Musical Intelligence, Spatial Intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Naturalist Intelligence, and Existentialist intelligence. this paper designs the K-MIDAS test[1] based on seven kinds of intelligence areas and implements developmental activity program suit to student's ability and aptitude based on the MI test result.

The Medium Access Scheduling Scheme for Efficient Data Transmission in Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN 환경에서 효율적 데이터 전송을 위한 매체 접근 스케줄링 기법)

  • IEEE 802.15.6 standard, a Wireless Body Area Network, aims to transfer not only medical data but also non-medical data, such as physical activity, streaming, multimedia game, living information, and entertainment. Services which transfer those data have very various data rates, intervals and frequencies of continuous access to a medium. Therefore, an efficient anti-collision operations and medium assigning operation have to be carried out when multiple nodes with different data rates are accessing shared medium. IEEE 802.15.6 standard for CSMA/CA medium access control method distributes access to the shared medium, transmits a control packet to avoid collision and checks status of the channel. This method is energy inefficient and causes overhead. These disadvantages conflict with the low power, low cost calculation requirement of wireless body area network, shall minimize such overhead for efficient wireless body area network operations. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a medium access scheduling scheme, which adjusts the time interval for accessing to the shared transmission medium according to the amount of data for generating respective sensor node, and a priority control algorithm, which temporarily adjusts the priority of the sensor node that causes transmission concession due to the data priority until next successful transmission to ensure fairness.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide fundamental data for the plans to reduce occupational stress by analyzing occupational stress of medical technologist. The experimental group comprised of 193 medical technologists working in Gyeonggi province. Occupational stress was 49.74 out of 100. In detail, job insecurity showed a high value of 64.42, followed by organizational system, lack of reward, physical environment, job demand, insufficient job control, interpersonal conflict, and occupational climate with respective values of 52.46, 52.30, 51.18, 49.57, 48.43, 39.78 and 39.77. It is recommended that those in high-stress job group increase physical activity and reduce job insecurity to improve health. The development of programs to reduce occupational stress are necessary, and this study can provide objective information using biological indicators.

Community-Based Participatory Project to Reduce Health Disparity: Focusing on the Residents' Autonomy Council (<사례보고> 건강격차 해결을 위한 주민참여형 보건사업: 주민자치회 중심 전략개발)

  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to develop strategies aimed at reducing disparity of physical activity in urban community. Methods: The study was conducted in a urban vulnerable area, focusing on the establishment and operation of a community health organization through the residents' autonomy council. Training programs were provided to the members of the council to enhance their capabilities. The research project was planned and implemented using a living lab approach. Based on these activities, the health division of residents autonomy council was newly established. Results: The findings demonstrated the potential and feasibility of utilizing the residents' autonomy council as a community-led health organization. A health project model centered on the health division of the residents' autonomy council was developed. Conclusions: This study concluded that it is possible to effectively promote health projects to reduce the health disparity through the resident-led participation strategy on the residents' autonomy council in the community.

Longitudinal and short term effects of senior life plans of the middle aged employee on life satisfaction (중고령취업자의 노후생활계획이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 단기·종단적 영향)

  • This study gave an insight into senior life plans and life satisfaction of the middle aged employee over 45 and under 60 years of age, listed in the KLIPS data for 2001 (4th year) and 2008 (11th year), so as to grasp levels of senior life plans of the middle aged employee as well as the longitudinal and short term effects of senior life plans on life satisfaction. The study findings showed as follow: First, For the period of years, the middle aged employees' health got worse and jobs got instable. Second, economic and physical senior life plans of the middle aged employee turned out below an average of three points which means preparations made below the normal level, whereas senior life plans in terms of relation and leisure and social activities came out with more than an average of three points, respectively, which means preparations made above the normal level. Third, as a result of looking into longitudinal effects of the 2001 senior life plans on life satisfaction, the level of senior life plans for leisure and social activities got higher, life satisfaction stayed higher in the year of 2001. In 2008, however, the higher level of economic plans for senior life came out with a higher rate of life satisfaction. From a short-term perspective, therefore, leisure and social activities to enjoy life impose a great impact on life satisfaction, whereas from a long-term viewpoint economic plans for senior life is regarded to be of greater importance.

  • 본 연구는 가상 캐릭터인 3D Pooh 와의 감성 교감이 이루어지는 유아용 감성 교육 게임 개발이 목적이다. Web 카메라를 이용하여 사용자의 위치 정보 및 영역을 검출하고 사용자는 화면에 보이는 가상 공간에 손과 마커를 이용하여 행동을 가하게 된다. 사용자의 행동 입력 방식에 따라 Pooh 의 상태를 나타내는 게이지와 행동의 다양한 변화를 제공하며, 이로써 사용자들이 가상 캐릭터인 3D Pooh 와 인터렉션을 할 수 있도록 제공한다. 기존의 감성 교감 연구 방법 분석 결과 뇌파와 체온 등의 생리신호를 이용한 방법과 사용자의 행동패턴을 분석하는 방법 등이 있으며, 현재는 생리신호를 이용하는 방법이 더 많이 활용되고 있다. 생리신호 측정 시 사용자는 신체에 센서를 착용해야 하므로 착용 부담감과 움직임이 자유롭지 못하다는 단점이 있다. 본 프로그램은 기존 연구의 단점인 센서 착용의 부담감을 줄이고 자유롭고 편리한 인터렉션이 가능하도록 개발하였으며, 직관적인 인터페이스를 기반으로 유아들도 쉽고 편리하게 즐길 수 있도록 구현된 감성 교육 게임이 될 것으로 기대된다. 또한 카메라 이외의 다른 하드웨어 장치 사용을 최소화하여 경제성과 사용 편의성을 동시에 고려한 효율적인 유아용 감성 교육 게임으로 활용될 수 있다.

Classification of Motor Imagery EEG Signals Based on Non-homogeneous Spatial Filter Optimization (비 동질 공간 필터 최적화 기반의 동작 상상 EEG 신호 분류)

  • 신체 부위를 움직이는 상상을 할 때, 일반적으로 뇌의 감각 및 운동 피질 영역에서 특정 주파수 대역의 EEG(Electroencephalography) 신호의 세기가 감소하거나 증가하는 ERD(Event-Related Desynchronization)/ERS(Event-Related Synchronization) 현상이 발생한다. 하지만 ERD/ERS는 현상은 피험자에 의존적이고 매시도마다 큰 차이를 보인다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 본 논문에서 각 시간-주파수 공간에 대하여 서로 다른 공간 필터를 구성하는 비 동질(non-homogeneous) 공간 필터 최적화 방법을 제안한다. EEG 신호는 시간에 대하여 비정상적(non-stationary) 특징을 가지기 때문에 제안하는 방법과 같이 시간에 따라 변화하는 ERD/ERS 특징을 반영하여 공간적 특징을 추출하는 방법은 시간에 대한 변화를 고려하지 않은 기존의 방법보다 우수한 성능을 보인다. 본 논문에서는 International BCI Competition IV에서 제공하는 4가지 동작 상상(왼손, 오른손, 발, 혀)에 대한 EEG 신호 데이터를 사용하여 동작 상상 분류 실험을 하고 이 결과를 기존의 타 방법들과 비교 분석하였다. 실험 결과, 피험자에 따라 서로 다른 시간-주파수 특징이 추출됨을 확인하였고, 최적화된 공간 필터들이 시간에 따라 변화하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 이러한 특징을 이용하여 분류를 수행하였을 때, 더욱 우수한 분류 결과를 보임을 확인하였다.

노인환자의 보존치료

  • 년령이 증가함에 다라 치아도 신체 다른부위와 같이 노화현상이 나타나는데, 특히 보존영역에서는 상아질 및 치수의 노화에 대한 지식은 매우 중요하다고 생각된다. 일반적으로 상아질 및 치수의 노화는 치수강이나 치근관내 석회화된 조직의 양이 증가하고 세포나 혈관의 수가 감소되는 현상으로 나타나며, 임상에서는 흔히 치수강이나 치근관내 pub stone이나 dystrophic calcification을 발견하게 된다. 이러한 노화현상은 년령이 증가한다는 요소외도 우식, 마모, 교모, 또는 치과시술등이 그 원인이 된다고 알려져 있으며 실제 젊은환자에서도 상아질 및 치수가 노화되어 있는 치아를 볼 수 있다. 그러나 대개 년령적으로는 50세에서 60세사이의 환자에서는 치아의 노화가 있을수있는 가능성이 많다고 알려져 있으므로 임상에서 이점을 고려해야될 것으로 생각되며, 또 한가지는 상아질 및 치수에 이와같은 치유의 능력이 저하된다는 사실이다. 이러한 사실은 우리가 광범위한 충전물을 가진 치아에서 치수복조술을 시행할때는 충전물이 없고 우식이 생긴 치아에서 시술여부를 결정할 때 매우 중요한 점이 되고있는것 처럼 보존시술시 고려되어야 할 중요한 점으로 생각된다. 노인에서 보존치료의 결과는 환자가 신장질환이나 위장병, 폐결핵, 당뇨병등 만성적인 전신 질환을 가지고 있는 경우에는 그 치유가 지연되는 경우가 있기는 하나 시술시에 이러한 사실과 년령증가에 따른 치수 및 상아질의 형태학적 변화나 생리적변화등을 고려해서 치료술식을 약간 달리하면 젊은 환자에서와 똑같은 결과를 가져 올수 있다는 확신 또는 중요하다고 보겠다. 본 난에서는 노인환자의 보존치료시에 임상에서 고려해야할 사항들을 충전시술시와 근관치료시로 나누어서 각 시술 별로 간단히 살펴보조져 한다.

The Analysis of multiple intelligences of the mathematical gifted children and their parents (초등 수학영재와 학부모의 다중지능에 관한 비교 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the strength and weakness of intelligences appeared by the profile of multiple intelligences of the mathematical gifted children and their parents. The subjects of this study were 73 students and 73 their parents from D-Education Center for Gifted Children. Their multiple intelligences were measured by a self-scaling test of Korean-Multiple Intelligence Development Assessment Scale, at July in 2009. The conclusions of this study are as follows: The strengths of multiple intelligences of the gifted children in mathematics are logical-mathematical intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence. And, the weakness of multiple intelligences of the gifted in elementary mathematics is bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. This result is similarly in their parents' self-scaling test of KMIDAS. Therefore, formal educational curriculum of the gifted in elementary mathematics is required which can stimulate all kinds of intelligences.
