  • Domestic corporation in High-tech industry invest huge amounts of economic resources into the Research & Development(R&D) department, especially into new product development. It might be an adequate explanation for this phenomena that as the product life cycle gets shorter, and environmental uncertainty necessitates core competency from every corporation, new product planning becomes a vital going concern for the company to keep and increase its market share This could originate from an inappropriate combination between new products and other marketing mix elements. But it could be that the main cause of these failures com from unsatisfactory customers. In the other words, R&D department failed to sufficiently recognize market needs. This could be solved through integration between marketing department R&D department This study supposes that integration between these two departments-marketing department and R&D department influences the success of new product. In other to prove this, this study examined the determinant factors which influence the integration and the relationships

  • Decision effectiveness depends on type of knowledge within team members generated by decision making process. Thus, organization in accordance with teams' experience and capability ultimately achieve their desired outcome. However, previous research has not addressed a mediating role between different knowledge type in decision making and product competitive advantages(pioneering advantage and product quality superiority). Based on the knowledge-based view, we model how different knowledge characteristics in decision making affect to acquire each of knowledge in decision making effectively and then to apply acquired knowledge in decision making. Anchored in a source-position-performance (SPP) framework (Day and Wensley's, 1988), we shed light on the effects of three knowledge characteristics dimensions in decision making process on knowledge management competences in decision making for a new product project. We also examine the relationship between two dimensions of NPD knowledge management competences, and product competitive advantages which consist of market pioneering advantage and product quality superiority. To test the relationships, the empirical analyses are conducted using a sample of team managers who participated in NPD projects. This study suggest that managers should increase their acquirability and applicability of knowledge by integrating complexity of diverse and new knowledge, developing codifiability of well-documented knowledge, and creating the sharing common knowledge among NPD team members. Thus, they are able to outrun major competitors in terms of pioneering advantage and product quality superiority perspective.

  • 현존하는 많은 기업들은 신제품 개발을 통한 제품 혁신 (product innovation) 으로 경쟁우위를 획득하려 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 신제품 개발을 위해 사용되고 있는 창조적 기법(Creative Techniques) 들의 활용이 개발관련부서뿐 아니라, 마케팅 관련 부서와도 공유됨으로써 더 효과적연 창조적 제품개발과정을 형성할 수 있음을 제안하고, 이러한 공유에 활용하기 적절한 대표적인 창조적 기법들을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 현재 불황산업으로 알려진 기초소재 산업의 대책으로서, 과잉설비의 처리, 원재료 및 에너지 코 스트의 절감, 설비투자의 활성화, 사업의 집약화 등과 병행하여 생산 공정 자체의 혁신, 제품의 고부가가치화 및 신제품의 개발측면에서 강력한 기술개발의 추진이 요구되고 있다. 소재산업 제품의 부가가치, 신제품의 개발 방법으로서 ACM이 이용되고 있다. 또한, 자원에너지 제약을 극복하기 위해서는 에너지를 대체할 수 있는 재료의 개발과, 자원 및 에너지를 절약하는 방법 두 가지가 있다. 구체적 대책의 하나로서, 신규소재를 이용하여 경량강성화된 ACM의 출현이 강하게 요구되고 있다.

  • Open Innovation is expanding worldwide as a new paradigm for technology development strategy to maximize return on investment of R&D according to recent change in knowledge environment. Although the interest in Open Innovation is increasing in domestic ground, the actual circumstance of domestic research and study regarding Open Innovation are insufficient. This study on case indicates what types of preparation and consideration are needed to enforce Open Innovation as a means of important technology development strategy through certain processes, which are applied to a new product in terms of management of technology.

  • The impact of technical innovation upon technical development and production stage in small and medium industry was analyzed through a survey. 54.0% of the respondents answered that employee invention compensation system was 'highly helpful' to technical innovation, while 23% 'important'. 170 of the respondents answered that technical innovation due to employee invention compensation system took place at the stage of 'technical development', while 138 'idea gathering'. That explains that many innovative activities are taking place in the course of idea gathering from customers, competitors and experts; and production stage also requires innovative activities.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between market orientation and new product performance in a manufacturing firms, and examines how product quality, employee satisfaction, and innovation speed play a mediating role between market orientation and new product performance. Based on relevant literature reviews, this study posits three mediators, that is, product quality, employee satisfaction, and innovation speed as key determinants of new product performance. And then we structured a research model and hypotheses about relationship between these variables. A total 159 usable survey responses of Korean food/pharmaceutical firms have been employed in the analysis. The data were analyzed with Amos12.0K. The results be summarized as follows: First, market orientation had a positive influence upon product quality, employee satisfaction, and innovation speed. Second, two mediators of employee satisfaction, innovation speed had a positive influence upon new product performance. Third, employee satisfaction had a positive influence upon product quality and innovation speed. According to the result of this research, a manufacturing firms have to focus on the market orientation and understand the role of product quality, employee satisfaction, and innovation speed mediators on the process between the market orientation and the new product performance.

  • 최근 분자모델링을 이용한 신물질설계기술 (Computer Aided Material Design)이 재료과학이나 생명과학분야의 획기적인 성공사례를 통하여 신물질개발연구에 실제적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 매우 효율적인 방법이라는 인식이 보편화되었다. 최근 미국, 유럽 등 기술선진국에서는 신제품 개발시 기존의 실험적인 연구가 아닌 모델링 방법의 분자설계기술을 이용하여 신약이나 기능성 첨단소재 등의 개발로 엄청난 부가가치를 창출하고 있다. 과학적 기반이 열세이고, 사업기술의 수준이 상대적으로 중간적 지위에 있는 우리나라는 신물질 및 신제품 개발을 위한 첨단기반기술의 확보가 다가오는 21세기 국가산업경쟁력 제고에 필수적이라는 인식 아래 분자설계 개발연구센터는 산업자원부의 기술혁신센터(Technology Innovation Center)로 지정받아 컴퓨터 모델링을 이용한 화학신소재 분차설계기술 보급에 힘쓰고 있다. 산업체에 첨단기술 보급을 위하여 기술혁신센터를 운영하고 있으며 또한, 초고속정보망기술지원실에서 정보통신부의 지원으로 올해 '3차년도 초고속응용기술지원사업'을 수행하고 있는 숭실대학교 분자설계연구센터의 소장인 노경태 교수를 찾아보았다.
