신문기사나 위키피디아와 같이 정보를 전달하는 텍스트와는 달리 사람의 감정 및 의도를 표현하는 텍스트는 다양한 형태의 노이즈를 포함한다. 본 논문에서는 data-driven 방법을 이용하여 노이즈와 단어들 사이의 관계를 LSTM을 이용하여 하나의 벡터로 요약하는 모델을 제안한다. 노이즈 문장 벡터를 표현하는 방식으로는 단방향 LSTM 인코더과 양방향 LSTM 인코더의 두 가지 모델을 이용하여 노이즈를 포함하는 영화 리뷰 데이터를 가지고 감정 분석 실험을 하였고, 실험 결과 단방향 LSTM 인코더보다 양방향 LSTM인 코더가 우수한 성능을 보여주었다.

우리나라는 지속적인 저출산과 고령화로 인해 지방 소멸 위험지역이 점차 늘어나고 있다. 본 연구는 지방 소멸과 관련된 다양한 요인을 '인구 소멸'이라는 키워드를 포함하는 신문 기사에 대한 토픽모델링을 통해 발견하고, 추출된 토픽과 관련된 공공 데이터를 수집하여 비슷한 특징을 가지는 지역을 묶는 군집분석을 수행한다. 그리고 지방소멸위험지수로 분류된 소멸 위험지역과 군집분석 결과를 비교한다.

Since 1995 local newspapers competitively commenced the service of multimedia electronic newspaper on Internet WWW due to the technical development in data processing and the widely used Internet. It includes image, phonetics and moving pictures as well as texts. The Internet service of newspaper articles are not only the information source which enables the users utilize the various information easily and rapidly but also to be an important reference service tools in the library. Howeverjn many cases. the current local electronic newspaper service aims at the service itself. Therefore, the information does not contain plenty of information. In some cases, information searching system focused on the users are not established yet. In this research, structuring process and characteristics of the Internet WWW electronic newspaper and the current service status and contents of the local newspaper have been reviewed. Construction of menu, information searching system and reference mannual for users of 6 local newspapers have been analyzed to secure efficient service for users.

This study aims to identify topics in newspaper articles related to fine particle matter and to investigate the characteristics and time series trend of each topic. Related national newspaper articles during 1990 and 2021 were collected from Bigkinds. A total of 18 topics have been discovered using LDA, and 11 clusters deduced from clustering. Hot topics include related products/residence, overseas cause(China), power plant as a domestic cause, nationwide emergency reduction measures, international cooperation, political issues, current situation & countermeasure in other countries, and consumption patterns. Cold topics include the concentration standard and indoor air quality improvement. These findings would be useful in inferring the political direction and strategies. In particular, the consumer protection policy should be expanded as the related market is growing. It will also be necessary to pursue policies that will promote public safety and health, and that will enhance public consensus and international cooperation.

There is a original routine on dealing the first edition newspaper in Korea. Korean national morning newspapers print about 0.5% of total circulation as the first edition and sale those only in Seoul where the newspapers is published. The dead line of first edition is even about 5 pm. According to this routine which couldn't be found in the advanced western nations, like UK, USA etc., there can be some original characteristics and problems on the contents of Korean national morning newspapers. The present study investigated what the characteristics and problems means on the quality of newspaper and the free flow of diverse informations and opinions. Content analysis comparing the first edition to the last edition of 8 national morning newspapers is used to reveal the original characteristics and problems. Major findings in the result of the content analysis are three. First, the quality of the newspapers is damaged by the early dead line. Second, Inter-media agenda setting, which minor papers follow major papers on not only contents but also tone & manner, is manifest. Third, the early time publishing of the first edition allow the reported group including government and business sorter to take time to do make some negotiations on the articles about them, in which procedure even about 40% of total observed articles are changed(eg. removed, replaced, modified).

In a pre-existing online newspaper has inconvenience such that a difference of a newspaper from other newspapers is confirmed on another script window. To solve this inconvenience, we propose a system called Rose News Reader. Since our proposed system classifies the articles with respect to the publishers and domain, a user can compare the articles from diverse publisher and analyze them to obtain correct facts.

Despite the great significance we attach on culture, only a handful of researches focus on the characteristics and practices of cultural journalism. This study has aimed to unravel the changes in the trajectory of cultural journalism of Korean major newspapers, through content analysis and qualitative interpretation of the cultural contents they report. The results show that the number of cultual items have decreased compared to that of 10 years ago, although the entire number of pages has meanwhile increased. News items focused on 'products(advertisement)' and 'life(style)' have increased, whereas those on 'knowledge refined' and 'leisure entertainment' have decreased. 'Critique review commentary', 'academics' and 'performance exhibition art music' items turn out to have decreased significantly; soft contents such as mass culture, tourism, fashion and beauty, on the other hand, have increased considerably. Moreover, the demographic characteristics of news contributors remain almost the same, except that the proportion of ordinary readers/audience has slightly increased. Similarly, although there were no difference regarding the sources of direct quotation, the frequency of quotes from ordinary readers has increased. Consequently, these results imply how the cultural journalism of Korean newspapers are limited in encompassing diverse types of content, differentiating constitution, and presenting critical viewpoints.

This study analyzed newspaper reports in the United States and South Korea that focused on Parasite's unprecedented performance at the 2020 Academy Awards. The research focused on the power relationship between 'the established and the outsiders (Elias & Scotson, 1994)' as represented by the Academy Awards and Parasite, respectively. Qualitative content analysis and text analysis were conducted to examine the reporting of American and South Korean newspapers and illuminate three aspects of the power relations between the Academy Awards and Parasite. Three major findings were derived. First, the Academy traditionally has a reputation for marginalizing films with a non-English or Asian background, but recognition of Parasite at the 92nd ceremony changed the Academy's established position of power. Second, historically, the Academy Awards had been characterized by a group charisma that exerts stigmatization (through an English-oriented policy and language stigmatization) and accords North American films priority over non-English movies. Lastly, the reports of newspapers in the two countries are generally similar, but the Korean articles internalized the individual, society, and the state.

The purpose of this study is to analyze types and features social issues about the Gyeongju earthquakes 2016, South Korea. The specific purpose is to identify types of topics related to Gyeongju Earthquakes, changes of topics over time, and the differences of topics depending on the each type of newspapers. According to the result of topic modeling, 55 topics were extracted. The result of this study is following these. First, the main topics have been changed with the course of time. In September, various topics were emerged, specifically urgent issues was found during two weeks after the first earthquake. After October, topics about social problems derived from the earthquakes received much attention at that time. Topics related to safety problems about nuclear plant have steadily found in all period. Second, topics varied depending whether the newspaper is national or regional. Also, differences of topics were found when dividing the newspapers by their characteristics considered conservative or liberal.

The purpose of this study is to find out what discourse the newspaper's articles produce and distribute about 'drug addiction' and to reveal the topography and meaning of the discourse. Data were collected by searching 'drug' 'drug addiction' as keywords for news articles in four daily newspapers in Korea. As a result of analyzing using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis, first, the 'crime-punishment' discourse was dominant in textual analysis. Drug addiction is a social evil and a serious crime such as sex crimes, child crimes, and violence, so it should be strictly punished. Second, in the discourse practice analysis, drug addiction is a mental disease that needs treatment, so systematic management by the state is required. Third, in the socio-cultural practice analysis, drug addiction is a means of making money for economic benefit, is related to corruption of political power, and is an object that should be strongly controlled to prevent drug crimes from threatening the foundation of the state. Culturally, drug addiction stems from the motivation of pleasure seeking, and is the result of moral degradation. Through this analysis, the conversion to the 'disease-treatment' discourse and drug policies centered on treatment and rehabilitation were suggested as alternatives.
