The Option Study of Oversea Shipment of DUPIC Fuel Elements to Canada (고방사성 산화물핵연료의 해외수송방안 분석)

  • KAERI has developed DUPIC nuclear fuel with the refabrication of spent PWR fuel discharged from domestic nuclear power plant by a dry process at M6 hot-cell in IMEF To verify the performance of DUPIC nuclear fuel, irradiation test at the operating conditions of commercial power plant is essential. Since the HANARO research reactor of KAERI does not have fuel test loop(FTL) for irradiating nuclear fuel under high temperature and high pressure conditions, DUPIC fuel cannot be irradiated in the FTL of HANARO. In the 13-th PRM among Korea, Canada, USA and IAEA, AECL proposed that KAERI fabricated DUPIC fuel can be irradiated in the FTL of the NRU research reactor without charge of neutrons. The transportation quantity of DUPIC fuel to Canada is 10 elements(about 6kg). This transportation package is classified as the 7-th class according to "recommendation on the transport of dangerous goods" made by the United Nations. In case of air shipment, until now, there is no proper air transportation cask for DUPIC fuel. In case of sea transportation is possible but requires very high cost.high cost.

  • 현재 국내에서 사용되는 교통신호등용 전구는 전량 해외에서 수입하는 백열전구로써 발열에 의한 낮은 발광 효율과 짧은 수명으로. 전력의 과소비와 과중한 전력요금 부담. 잦은 유지보수로 관리비용의 증가와 교통환경 악화의 원인이 되고 있으며, 국가적으로는 귀중한 에너지의 낭비, 첨두부하 증가에 따른 전력수요관리의 어려움, 발전용 화석연료 사용증가에 따른 환경오염 유발 등의 문제가 발생하고 있다. 그러나 $8{\sim}12$인치의 원형(또는 사각) PCB 기판에 수백개의 고휘도 LED(반도체 발광 다이오드, Light Emitting Diode)와 구동회로로 구성되는 LED 교통신호등은 발열에 의한 열손실이 거의 없고, 특정 파장대의 단색광을 발광하여 착색렌즈 사용에 따른 빛손실이 없어 80% 이상의 대폭적인 에너지 절약이 가능하며. 또한 긴 수명으로 유지보수비용의 절감 및 교통환경개선 효과가 크게 기대되어 미국, 일본 등 고휘도 LEB 기술 선진국을 중심으로 경쟁적으로 LED 신호등 기술개발에 심혈을 기울이고 있으며, 일부 시범 보급중에 있다. 교통신호등은 특성상 국민의 안전과 직결된 사안으로 엄격한 규격으로 제한하고 있다. 그러나 LED 신호등은 발광 원리 및 발광 방식이 기존의 전구식과 달라 현재 규정된 시험방법으로 직접 평가가 불가능하다. 따라서 우리나라의 경우 LED 제조 기술은 세계적인 수준이나 LED 신호등에 대한 기술개발 및 보급은 현실적으로 어려운 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 에너지절약형 우리나라 환경 특성에 적합한 LED 교통 신호등의 규격 제정 및 국내 보급환경 구축을 위해 LED 신호등에 대한 시제품의 특성을 장시간의 옥외 시험을 통해 평가하고자 한다.

Analysis of the Economic Effect of the Construction Industry and the Cost-benefit Analysis of the Recycled Aggregate Production Industry According to the Use of High-quality Recycled Aggregate (고품질 순환골재 활용에 따른 건설 산업의 경제적 효과 및 순환골재 생산 산업의 비용 편익 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic effect of the use of recycled aggregate on the construction industry and the effect of increasing the value of the recycled aggregate production industry on the premise of supporting quality assurance technology to promote the high-quality use of recycled aggregate. Accordingly, the production cost of ready-mixed concrete that can be obtained through the use of high-quality recycled aggregate is analyzed according to the recycled aggregate application rate recommended in the recycled aggregate quality standard, The economic effect of general ready-mixed concrete and recycled aggregate-applied rea dy-mixed concrete industry wa s a na lyzed by identifying the domestic rea dy-mixed concrete industry sca le a nd the ra te of satisfaction of recycled aggregate volume, and a cost-benefit analysis method was used to examine the benefits of high-quality recycled aggregate production and sales. As a result, the production cost of ready-mixed concrete is reduced by 2.3~16.2% depending on the application rate, the economic effect of the use of recycled aggregate on the construction industry is about 106.8~142.6 billion KRW, and the effect of increasing the value of the recycled aggregate production industry generated about 1.22 times the benefit.

  • The uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) is an important factor in the design and construction of surface and underground structures. However, the method employed to measure UCS is time consuming and expensive to apply in the field. Therefore, we developed a model to estimate UCS based on a few properties using linear regression analysis, which is a statistical method. To develop the model, valid factors from the test results were selected from a correlation analysis using a statistical program, and the model was formulated by linear regression based on the relationships among factors. UCS estimates derived from the model were compared with the results of UCS tests, to assess the reliability of the model. The relationship between rock properties and UCS indicates that the factors with the greatest influence on UCS are point load strength and shape facto r. The UCS values obtained using the model are in good agreement with the results of the UCS test. Therefore, the developed model may be used to estimate the UCS of rocks in regions with similar conditions to those of the present study area.

  • 1. 일시수확형 고추의 기계수확 요인을 구명하기 위하여 4종류의 탈과장치를 제작하여 공시고추로 탈과시험을 실시한 결과 탈과장치는 방사대칭식(브러쉬형), 고추이송(공급)속도는 0.1m/s, 탈과장치 간격은 3cm, 탈과장치 회전수는 180rpm에서 정상탈과율 77.3%, 손상률 7.6% 미탈과율 3.0%로 가장 양호한 성적이 나타났다. 2. 방사대칭식(브러쉬형) 탈과장치를 이용하여 무지용 상향착과형 고추, 지주용 하향착과형 고추, 지주용 상향착과형 고추를 공시하여 고추별 탈과시험을 실시한 결과, 고추이송(공급)속도 0.1m/s, 원통사이간격 3cm, 탈과장치 회전수 180rpm에서 가장 양호한 성적이 나왔으며, 지주용 하향착과형 고추가 정상탈과률 82.7%, 손상률 7.4%, 미탈과율 2.7%로 무지주용 상향착과형 고추(52.3%, 14.3%, 12.5%)와 지주용 상향착과형 고추(77.3%, 7.6%. 3.0%)에 비해 기계수확에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 3. 이상의 고추 기계수확 요인시험의 결과, 탈과장치는 방사대칭식(브러쉬형) 고추종류로는 하향착과형 고추가 기계수확에 바람직한 것으로 나타났으며, 수확 후 회수가 가능한 줄기부착고추를 포함한다면 고추기계수확률은 80% 이상, 꼭지가 떨어진 것이 대부분인 손상고추도 수확 후 즉시 기계건조하여 가공용으로 사용한다고 가정한다면 기계 수확률은 90% 이상 가능하지만, 이것의 수용 여부는 좀 더 폭넓은 의견수렴 및 조사가 필요하다고 사료된다. 4. 고추수확 기계화를 위해서는 실내요인 시험 결과를 토대로 포장에서 수확메커니즘 구명과 더불어 고추 과실이 크고 무지주용 하향착과형 일시수확형 고추 품종의 개발이 병행되어야 한다고 판단된다. 5) 마늘 선별작업 -마늘선별기는 작업성능이 높고 5등급으로 균일 선별되었으며 손상도 없었으나, 기계가 크고 무거워 이동이 곤란하고 가격이 비싸므로 선별등급을 3∼4단계로 줄이고 소형 농가보급형으로 개량제작이 요구됨. 나. 마늘재배 일관기계화에 의한 노동투하시간과 비용 -종자준비부터 통마늘선별까지의 일관기계화로 투입된 주요작업의 노력은 75∼76%가 절감되고, 재배규모 3ha기준시 비용은 44-53%절감되었음. the annealing texture. Field Variability and Variable Rate Fertilization of Nitrogen in a Direct Seeding Paddy for Precision Agriculture (정밀 농업을 위한 직파 벼 재배 논에서 포장 변이성 조사와 질소의 변량 시비)

  • Since understanding on spatial variability of a field is essential to pursue precision agricultural technology, a field study for field variability and variable rate fertilization of nitrogen in a direct seeding paddy was attempted. Variable rate application of nitrogen was designed with soil test, and field application was tested in a direct seeding paddy in the Kimje, Jeonbuk, Korea. The grid samples of soil was collected from the field of which unit size was 35 m by 112 m on February before irrigating of the field. Soil organic matter, available phosphate and silicate, and extractable potassium were analyzed. Variable rate fertilizer recommendation maps of nitrogen for high yielding, HY, and low input sustainable agriculture, LISA, were derived based on the soil analysis. Direct seeding of rice was performed for variable rate treatment, VRT, for the experimental plot in 2001 and 2002, and so did for three volunteer farmers' field in 2003. Yield mapping was performed by harvesting. Economic feasibility of direct seeding of rice by variable rate fertilization was evaluated. Though increased yield of variable rate application and benefit of reducing fertilizer use and environmental impact, the cost for soil test exceeded the total reduced fertilizer cost.

  • In this paper, we first introduce a systematic verification procedure for hierarchically structured avionics system. By making use of equipment models, it can perform individual verifications of each subsystem, integrated verifications of multiple subsystems, and an integrated verification of a whole system. A multi-mode system integration laboratory is then proposed to make it possible to execute various individual or integrated verification tests at the same time. By mathematically proving that the proposed multi-mode system integration laboratory needs less verification time than the conventional verification methodology, it is expected to enhance the efficiency of the systematic verification procedure and as a result, reduce the overall verification period and costs.

  • This paper is a study of TPS Migration to a multi-purpose ATS which is used for functional testing of Avionics parts. The dedicated ATS used for the performance test of avionics parts has a lot of difficulties in domestic MRO companies that carry out maintenance of high-level avionics ranging from tens of thousands won to several hundreds of billions won. For this reason, in this paper, I have studied the procedure of TPS migration to use the wire-harness in generators used in A aircraft, which is a maintenance product using a dedicated ATS, as a general-purpose ATS. Through the proposed study, We confirmed the 100% performance verification after the TPS migration from the proprietary to the general purpose. It is possible to expand infinitely through the standardization of the procedure.

Development of Item Mounting System for Effective Operation of Bulletproof Test (방탄시험의 효과적 운영을 위한 시료거치 시스템 개발)

  • In this study, an actual test procedure was considered for the effective operation of a bulletproof test. The problems of the existing system were drawn in two ways. First, it is difficult to mount items of various shapes. Second, various test standards cannot be applied. To improve these problems, an automated and standardized mounting system was designed/applied to mount various items. The multi-purpose mount was compatible with the backing support for body armor testing. The sample holding frame was located inside and was designed to mount samples of various sizes and shapes through vertical movement and fixation without a separate detachment/attachment process. A comparison of the economics before and after the introduction of the item mounting system confirmed the effectiveness of the system by the increased number of daily tests and equipment utilization and reduced hourly cost.

Laboratory Performance Evaluation of High Modulus Asphalt Mixes for Long-Life Asphalt Pavements (장수명 아스팔트 포장용 고강성 혼합물의 실내 공용성 평가)

  • A major purpose of this study is to develop high modulus asphalt mixtures for perpetual asphalt pavements which can save maintenance cost by increasing the design and performance periods of the pavements. Various physical and mechanical laboratory tests are performed for the high modulus asphalt binder developed in this study. The test results show that the properties of the high modulus binder are similar to those of the French high modulus binders. In addition to the binder tests, various performance tests are conducted for the high modulus and conventional mixtures. The dynamic modulus test results indicate that the dynamic modulus values of the high modulus mixtures are higher than those of the conventional mixtures by 10~15% at $5^{\circ}C$, 20~25% at $15^{\circ}C$ and 100% at $30^{\circ}C$. It is observed from the performance tests that the high modulus mixtures yield better fatigue, rutting and moisture damage performance than the conventional mixtures.
