  • The lobby is the space that contributes the most to conveying the first impression of an enterprise or company that is occupying a building, and enhances the quality of the urban or business environment around an office building. Transparency is the biggest change in architecture since the modern age began, and it is the most important element of the lobby expression methods. Therefore this study was an attempt to understand the expression method of transparency which is expressed in the lobby space of office buildings, and used documentary survey and field survey to analyze it. In the examination of the theoretical background of transparency to make a specific study purpose, and based on an on-the-spot probe document, an attempt was made to grasp the expression method of Visual Transparency and Phenomenal Transparency. The data collected during this investigation was studied and a correlation coefficient. A summary of the findings of this study is as follows: 1) Transparent materials does not appear often in floors. But Phenomenal Transparency material is used in the floor. 2) During the survey it was discovered that Visual Transparency was often used in the walls of each investigated building. Phenomenal Transparency materials are found less in walls than in the floors of lobbies. 3) The expression methods that appeared the most in ceilings among the Visual Transparent expression methods. In the case of Phenomenal Transparency, the highest distribution is seen in ceilings. 4) The result of the analyzation of the correlation coefficient of Visual Transparency and Phenomenal Transparency is as follows: Expression method: There is more than one expression method of transparency, 'Open Sight', 'Light Material' and 'Surface Material' methods were introduced in case of the introduction of 'Transparent Material' among Visual Transparency in office building lobby space planning. If the 'Superimposed Space' method is introduced, then the 'Ambiguous Border' or 'Dual Sight' methods are introduced.

  • The role of S/W in weapon systems has been developed with various functions and complex structures. As the weapon system S/W is directly related to quick and accurate decision making of users, more accurate evaluation is required during the training. However, situation awareness of weapon system S/W users has only been assessed qualitatively such as by simple test or qualitative judgement. Therefore, this study suggests the 'Cognition Ratio' concept which represents the quantitative of users by combining ACT-R cognitive architecture to SA (Situation Awareness) and Fitts' Law based on the theory of cognitive engineering. The cognition ratio is a ratio of cognition among the whole cognitive behavior process including perception and psychomotor. Moreover, this study provides a systematic assessment process of situation awareness that will be applicable to various weapon system S/W for effective assessment.

  • At public spaces, signs have purposes of communicating their information clearly. Especially directional signs point out the proper route showing our surroundings. The present directional signs which are indicating 3-dimensional direction in a 2-dimensional mode seem to be difficult to understand as we are moving. This study has the purpose of investigating the role of present signs and suggesting visually effective directional signs, in particular arrows. Firstly, this study surveyed the user's attitude on directional signs in case of subway station. The research shows that the present directional signs hardly perform their roles to communicate the directional information, which means the need of newly expressed arrows. In this study we consider a new effective expression on the viewpoint of human cognition mechanism. So it is thought that those trials are helpful to efficient sign system.

  • The stationary image appears to move after we view a moving stimulus for a long time. The motion aftereffect(MAE) can spread to an adjacent region if there is no contrast discontinuity between two regions. In this study, it is investigated whether a phenomenon of MAE spreading to an adjacent non adapting area is affected by the depth discontinuity defined by binocular disparity. In the first experiment a disparity defined slanted pattern was presented in an unadapted region, and in the second experiment, a disparity defined pattern with a different depth was presented on the fronto-parallel plane. Although MAE duration in the condition with slanted pattern was not different from that in the non-slanted pattern condition, MAE durations in the pattern presented on pronto-parallel plane was vividly reduced, but not completely disappeared. These results suggest that a phenomenon of MAE spreading might be affected by depth discontinuity, and could be occurred after binocular information converges.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate conception of children's hospitalization stress and to make clear concepts, and to use Walker & Avant's concept analysis method. Children's hospitalization stress attributes were derived from physiological changes, individual-environmental interactions, cognitive and psychosocial developmental stage responses, and intrinsic and outward changes due to coping styles. The prerequisites for hospitalization stress of children were disease severity, biological factors, and support system, and the results were hospitalization adaptation, disease and health recovery, improvement of child development, and acquisition of coping skills. In order to solve the prerequisites for Hospitalization stress of children, it is necessary to be aware of the disease and to establish a support system of parent-family. Afterwards, we suggest more qualitative research on the hospitalization stress of children, the development of tools that reflect the characteristics of the hospitalization stress of children, and the development of programs to solve the Hospitalization stress.

  • This study was a secondary data analysis conducted to identify the factors affecting the health-related quality of life according to the stress perception level of middle-aged. Data from the 2014, 2016, and 2018 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were used, and 7,995 people aged 40-64 who answered the level of stress perception were targeted. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS ver.25.0, and the significance level was set to .05. As a result of the study, in the feeling less stressed group, household income level, education level, frequency of dinning out, drinking amount at a time, smoking, subjective health, and depression were found to be significant influencing factors, and the explanatory power was 21.4% (p < .001). In the feeling a lot stressed group, household income level, education level, living with a spouse, weekly breakfast frequency, aerobic physical activity, smoking, subjective health, and depression were significant influencing factors, and the explanatory power was 38.7% (p < .001). Therefore, it is suggested to consider each influencing factor in the middle-aged stress reduction intervention.

  • As the era of metaverse approaches, there are challenges that need to be solved. Among them, 'cyber motion sickness' is a representative problem from 2016;when VR technology began to attract attention. According to the theory of sensory conflict, motion sickness is caused when the perceived direction of motion information and the expected value are not the same. The paper was written to theoretically explore the relationship between brain cognition and cyber motion sickness, and to prove the effect of user immersion on motion sickness symptoms based on this. Through the SSQ experiment, it was found that the rotation value of the camera aggravates the symptoms of cyber motion sickness and can alleviate cyber motion sickness by increasing the immersion of the game by giving the viewer visual and shift missions to solve. This study was conducted to solve the problem of cyber motion sickness during the process of developing the VR rhythm game "beatale", and it is expected to be the basis for improving cyber motion sickness not only in the development of the project but also in the production of VR contents in the future.
