A Study on Salt Removal in Controlled Cultivation Soil Using Electrokinetic Technology (전기동력학 기술을 이용한 시설재배지 토양의 염류제거 효과연구)

  • To verify that the electrokinetic remediation is effective for decreasing salinity of fields of the plastic-film house, field tests for physical property, chemical property, and crop productivity of soils have been conducted. The abridged result of those tests is as follows. In the EK treatment, the electrokinetic remediation has been treated at the constant voltage (about 0.8 V $cm^{-1}$) for fields of the farm household. At this time, an alternating current (AC) 220 V of the farm household was transformed a direct current. The HSCI (High Silicon Cast Iron) that the length of the stick for a cation is 20cm, and the Fe Plate for an anion have been spread out on the ground. As the PVC pipe that is 10 cm in diameter was laid in the bottom of soils, cations descend on the cathode were discharged together. For soil physical properties according to the EK treatment, the destruction effect of soil aggregate was large, and the infiltration rate of water was increased. However, variations of bulk density and porosity were not considerable. Meanwhile, in chemical properties of soils, principal ions of such as EC, $NO_3{^-}$-N, $K^+$, and $Na^+$ were better rapidly reduced in the EK treated control plot than in the untreated control plot. And properties such as pH, $P_2O_5$ and $Ca^{2+}$ had a small impact on the EK. For cropping season of crop cultivation according to the EK treatment, decreasing rates of chemical properties of soils were as follows; $NO_3{^-}$-N 78.3% > $K^+$ 72.3% > EC 71.6% $$\geq_-$$ $Na^+$ 71.5% > $Mg^{2+}$ 36.8%. As results of comparing the experimental plot that EK was treated before crop cultivation with it that EK was treated during crop cultivation, the decreasing effect of chemical properties was higher in the case that EK was treated during crop cultivation. After the EK treatment, treatment effects were distinct for $NO_3{^-}$-N and EC that a decrease of nutrients is clear. However, because the lasting effect of decreasing salinity were not distinct for the single EK treatment, fertilization for soil testing was desirable carrying on testing for chemical properties of soils after EK treatments more than two times. In the growth of cabbages according to the EK treatment, the rate of yield increase was 225.5% for the primary treatment, 181.0% for the secondary treatment, and 124.2% for third treatment compared with the untreated control plot. The yield was increased by a factor of 130.0% for the hot pepper at the primary treatment (Apr. 2011), 248.1% for the lettuce at the secondary treatment (Nov.2011), and 125.4% for the young radish at the third treatment (Jul. 2012). In conclusion, the effect of yield increase was accepted officially for all announced crops.

Heavy Metal Contents in Soils and Vegetables in the Plastic Film House (시설재배지(施設栽培地) 토양(土壤) 및 채소류중(菜蔬類中) 중금속함량(重金屬含量) 조사(調査))

  • In order to monitor the content of heavy metals of soil and vegetable in the plastic film house, five hundred and twenty two soil, and 147 vegetable samples grown under plastic film house were collected for the analysis of heavy metals. The average contents of Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn and As in surface soil were 0.208, 3.69, 2.49, 23.3 and 0.65mg/kg, respectively. Cu and Zn contents of the soil were higher than those values measured for upland soils in 1989, however, these contents were lower than "Countermeasure values" (Cd:4, Cu:125, Pb:300, and As:15mg/kg in soil) for soil contamination indicators described in Soil Environmental Conservation Act of Korea(1996). The contents of Cd, Cu and Zn increased with increasing years of cultivation. The contents of Cd, Cu, and Zn in soils received pig manure compost were higher than those received the poultry or barn yard manure compost. The average contents of Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn and As in fresh vegetable plants ranged from 0.015 to 0.047, 0.341 to 0.802, 0.080 to 0.356, 1.08 to 8.04 and 0.021 to 0.059mg/kg, respectively.

  • 천연물 산업은 과학적 기술력이 요구되는 고부가가치 산업으로 건강기능식품 등의 원료 산업으로 각광받고 있다. 최근 친환경, 지속가능성에 대한 관심 증가로 천연물 제품에 대한 수요가 증가되고 있으며 고령화 사회 진입과 건강에 대한 의식 수준 상승으로 전세계 건강기능 식품 시장 확대 추세에 있다. 생물자원의 70%이상을 수입에 의존하고 있는 우리나라는 천연물 산업의 경쟁력 확보와 고부가가치화 실현을 위해 천연물 산업 육성 촉진이 필요하다. 또한 지역 균형발전 측면에서 신성장동력 마련 및 국가 차원의 형평성을 고려한 전략적 투자가 필요한 시점에서 천연물 관련 산업의 신성장동력화를 통해 지역의 한계점 등을 개선하고, 새로운 먹거리 발굴과 함께 지역 전략산업으로 육성이 필요하다. 제천의 특화산업업인 한방천연물산업의 고도화와 활성화를 위해 영세한 스타트업 및 중소기업의 연구 및 제품개발을 지원하기 위한 인프라와 산업 클러스터 조성이 요구되고 있다. 제천은 풍부한 한약재 생산지를 보유하고 있어 전체 면적의 50% 이상이 석회암 지대로 알칼리성 토양이 넓게 분포되어 있고, 토양의 양분이 풍부하며 해발고도 250m 이상의 준산간 지역에서 주로 재배가 이루어지고 있어, 배수가 양호하고 병충해가 적어 한약재의 친환경 재배 및 다년생 한약재 재배가 가능한 지역이다. 이러한 천연물 산업을 육성하기 위하여 산업통상자원부, 충청북도, 제천시, (재)충북테크노파크는 180억원의 사업비로 '글로벌 천연물 원료제조거점시설'을 구축하여 규격화된 천연물 원료공급 시스템을 갖추었으며 150억원을 투자하여 '천연물 조직배양 상용화 시설'을 건립 중에 있다. 또한 향후에는 천연물 클러스터 가치 사슬의 완성형으로 160억 상당의 '천연물 제제개발 생산시설' 사업을 기획하고 있어 장차 대한민국의 천연물 산업을 앞장서 견인할 것으로 예상 된다.

Effects of Soil Textures by Soil Addition on the Growth and Quality of Oriental Melon (Cucumis melo L. var. makuwa Mak.) under Protected Cultivation (객토시 토성이 시설참외의 생육과 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of soil amendment with different characteristics on plant growth, fruit yield and quality of oriental melon for continuous cropping under protected cultivation. Humus layers in arable soil was disturbed because soil amendment from hillside to oriental melon field was continued to resolve problems for continuous cropping. Water potential and hardness of soil was decreased in sandy loam with lower clay contents compared with loam and silty clay. Leaf length and area, fresh and dry weight of plant at earlier growing stage were higher, but chlorophyll contents of leaves were dropped in sandy loam compared with silty clay soil. Fruit size and weight was higher in sandy loam, but soluble solid and color of fruit were increased in silty clay. Marketable and unmarketable yield and quantity of fermented fruit were the highest in sandy loam. Hardness and weight of fruit were decreased by longer storage period and soluble solids of fruit was peaked at 5 day after storage, but decreased by prolonged continued storage. Because of these results, soil characteristics of amendment to oriental melon field should be considered as an important factor for quality and yield of oriental melon.

  • 국민소득의 증대와 더불어 향상된 우리의 식생활 문화는 양보다 품질을 선호하게 되어 청정 농산물의 수요가 증대하였는데 이로 인하여 농작물의 유해성을 감소시킬 수 있으며 기후의 영향을 덜 받아 연중재배 및 생산이 가능한 수경재배 및 양액재배 기술이 등장하였으며, 이를 위한 첨단 시설하우스의 설립도 매우 많이 증가하였다. 또한 점점 더 확산되는 집단육묘 체계에서 살균 처리하여 사용되고 있는 관행 상토를 대체할 수 있는 무균의 배양토 재료의 개발이 관심 대상으로 떠올랐다. 토양 및 광물질, 유기물류가 혼합된 대부분의 상토재료(피트모스, 나무껍질)와 양액재배 지주물질은 매우 많은 양이 수입에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 고가의 수입자재를 대체하기 위한 일환으로 우리 농촌에서 농업부산물로 생겨나는 왕겨를 탄화시켜 상토재료 및 양액재배용 지주물질로 사용하려는 연구가 다수 시행되었다. Molecular Identification of Meloidogyne spp. in Soils from Fruit and Vegetable Greenhouses in Korea (분자기법을 이용한 과채류 시설재배지 토양 내 분포하는 뿌리혹선충의 종 동정)

  • In this study, we analyzed the phylogenetic characterization of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) in soils from fruits and vegetables greenhouses in Korea. Soil samples were collected from 12 greenhouse fields in which tomato, cucumber, watermelon, and Oriental melon were being cultivated. Meloidogyne spp. were detected in all the soil samples at an average number of $72{\pm}6$ nematodes/300 g of soil to $2,898{\pm}468$ nematodes/300 g of soil. Phylogenetic analysis using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism was attempted for the second-stage juveniles (J2) of Meloidogyne spp. collected from the greenhouse soils. Twelve Meloidogyne spp. from the greenhouse soils were classified into two groups by using HinfI digestion of mitochondrial DNA, resulting in 900, 410, 290, and 170 bp fragments (group A) and 900, 700, and 170 bp fragments (group B). Phylogenetic analysis based on mitochondrial DNA sequences (1,483-1,521 bp) showed that nine group A isolates were identified as Meloidogyne incognita (99.73-99.93%) and three group B isolates showed 99.54-99.73% similarity to Meloidogyne arenaria.

No-Tillage Agriculture of Korean-Style on Recycled Ridge III. Changes in Pepper Growth and Biodiversity at Plastic Film Greenhouse Soil in Organic Cultivation of No-tillage Systems (두둑을 재활용한 한국형 무경운 농업 III. 시설 무경운 유기재배 고추의 생육 및 생물다양성의 변화)

  • Hot pepper growth in no-tillage cultivation on recycled ridge was increased by 22% compared with tillage cultivation. At 3 years after no-tillage cultivation, hot pepper growth was increased by 12% compared with tillage cultivation. Dry weight of unripe hot pepper at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation was 348.4 kg/10a increasing 16% compared with tillage cultivation while dry weight of unripe hot pepper was decreased at 3 years of no-tillage cultivation. Bacteria flora at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation was significantly increased compared with tillage cultivation. Bacteria flora was not significantly different at 3 years of no-tillage cultivation. Actinomyces flora at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation was significantly increased compared with tillage cultivation. Actinomyces flora was decreased at 3 years of no-tillage cultivation. Fungi flora at 2 and 3 years of no-tillage cultivation was increased by 1.3 and 1.7 times respectively, compared with tillage cultivation. Generation amount of carbon dioxide at no-tillage cultivation soil was remarkably decreased by 41% compared with tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule in early stage of hot pepper soil was 2 species and 6 individuals on Collembola and Acari at tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule in hot pepper soil was 5 species and 11 individuals including Chilopode at one year of no-tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule in hot pepper soil was 3 species and 5 individuals including Coleoptera and Chilopode at 2 years of no-tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule was 4 species and 40 individuals including Hypogastrurigae and 8 species and 97 individuals including Earwig (Labidura japornica) at 46 days after transplanting on tillage cultivation. Population of animalcule was 9~10 species and 101~107 individuals on no-tillage cultivation. Nature status for environmental change as index organism was 19 points and 33 points, at tillage and no-tillage cultivation, respectively. These results indicate that no-tillage agriculture of korean-style on recycled ridge plays a very important roles on pepper growth, biodiversity of animalcule, and greenhouse gases at plastic film greenhouse soil in no-tillage systems.

Occurrence of Sclerotinia Rot on Perilla Caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum under Structured Cultivation Condition (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum에 의한 시설재배 들깨 균핵병 발생특성)

  • Sclerotinia rot caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum frequently causes serious and unpredicable yield losses of the leaves of perilla growing under structured cultivation as vegetable in Korea. Temperature for mycelial growth ranged from 5 to $30^{\circ}C$ with optimum temperature d $20^{\circ}C$. Sclerotia were formed fewer at low temperature, but their dry weight was heavier than that at high temperature. The apothecia were formed from the sclerotia that buried up to 3 cm soil depth at $15^{\circ}C$ in moisture condition. The incidence of perilla Sclerotinia rot caused by S. sclerotiorum was observed throughout the growing season at greenhouse. The occurrence of this disease was especially severe from January to February of low temperature period. The average incidence rates of this disease was up to 15%. The significant occurrence of this disease was showed mainly in the continuous cropping field for more than five years. The incidence of this disease increased according to the increase of continuous cropping year. The incidence rates of this disease reached up to 20% in the continuous cropping field for ten years. Also it was firstly investigated the natural infection caused by S. sclerotiorum on weed plants, Gnaphalium affine and Mazus pumilus in farmer's field. The casual fungus showed pathogenicity on 11 weed plants species tested, and more severe pathogenicity on G. affine, Latuca indica and Ixeris dentata included in the family Compositae. This result suggests that effective crop rotation and weed eradication can be the method for organic control of perilla sclerotinia rot, and sudden outbreaks of this disease on perilla growing under structure after paddy rice call be explained by the presence of weed hosts.
