Changes in IR Spectra of Ambers with Accelerated Aging (가속열화 시 호박 IR 특성의 경시적 변화)

  • Amber has been used as gemstones and artifacts from the period of the Three Kingdoms or earlier, which are discovered in the process of excavation now. It is, however, very difficult to discuss the importing route and circulation of amber because there are no informations available on the provenance. In this study, we acquired the IR spectra of ambers originating from 5 different locations. We also monitored the change of characteristic IR peaks by artificially aging the ambers under heat, light and heat with oxygen, respectively. As the aging proceeded, the intensity of C=O band and O-H band increased, however, the bands related with C=C bond decreased. There needed some modifications in the discerning scheme because some peak disappeared with aging; yet, it was still possible to discern different ambers largely. Therefore, it is expected that the scheme can be used practically by appraising its applicability to the real amber relics excavated.

A Study on Preferred Wood Species Depending on the Use Of Wooden Objects Excavated from Haman Seongsansansung Mountain Fortress (함안 성산산성 출토 목제유물의 용도별 선호수종 연구)

  • This study attempts to identify whether there were preferred wood species or any required properties depending on the use of wooden objects by comparing wood species analysis results of wooden objects, which are classified specifically by their uses like comb, wooden tablets, containers, etc., excavated from Haman Seongsansansung mountain fortress, which is the archaeological site of the Three Kingdoms era and those excavated from archaeological sites in Gyeongsang province considered to be the similar era of Haman Seongsansansung mountain fortress site. Wooden tablets and combs show the preferred species clearly and containers preferred wood species with the mid-ranged strength and the resistance against moisture migration.

The Making and Use of the Bifid Ornamental Hairpin Stone Mold Excavated at Neungsan-ri, Buyeo (부여 능산리 출토 가랑비녀 용범(鎔范)의 제작과 사용 양상)

  • A stone mold from the Sabi period of Baekje was excavated at the western tombs in Neungsan-ri, Buyeo where there was a recent excavation survey (2016). It was believed and reported that such stone molds were used for copper needles during the early Iron Age; however, a close re-examination of the form revealed that they were used for bifid ornamental hairpins. Given its casting form, the stone mold of Neungsan-ri is estimated to have been used to make bifid ornamental hairpins in a ∩ shape, narrowing down toward the tip. It is considered an artifact of the Goryeo dynasty. The stone used to make the bifid ornamental hairpin mold of Neungsan-ri was chlorite-schist, the principal minerals of which include chlorite, amphibole, and talc. Similar rocks are in nearby Buyeo (Oesan-myeon), Cheongyang, Gongju, and Yesan. They are mainly found between Jiseon-ri, Oesan-myeon, Buyeo, Sucheol-ri, Yesane-up, and Yesan. Nearly 70 bifid ornamental hairpins from the Goryeo dynasty were excavated at Neungsan-ri, Buyeo and the surrounding areas. Among them, the bronze ones excavated from the tombs of Songguk-ri, Buyeo are estimated to have been made using this mold as they closely resemble the Neungsan-ri mold. Stone was likely the preferred material for molds to make bronze artifacts as it was easy to sink a die. Regarding the bifid ornamental hairpin cast excavated in Neungsan-ri, they obtained stones in nearby areas 20~50km from their location, made bronze artifacts, and distributed them to nearby sites during the Goryeo dynasty. These artifacts suggest that the casting technology of using a stone mold was still employed then.

Geological Approach for Use Interpretation of a Cultural Heritage Site at Gochon-ri, Busan (부산 고촌지구 문화유적지의 용도해석을 위한 지질학적 접근)

  • Many cultural heritages with various periods including the 'Three Kingdoms Period' were discovered in Chulmamyeon, Busan. Detailed geomorphological and geological investigation was performed due to archaeological importance of the study area. Aerial photographic analysis for geomorphology and analysis of vertical sedimentary sections to interpret the sedimentary characteristics were carried out. Many pebbles with specific features were discovered during the investigation. The characteristics and origin of the pebbles are analysed based on their size, rock type and shape. The study area is located in a relatively low and gentle slope compared with neighboring regions. The strong N-S trending lineaments may influence the topographic features and the distribution of wells discovered in this area. The exposed sections during excavation are divided into several layers depending on colors and materials included. Some of the layers may be developed not by nature but by human activities. The similarity of the pebbles indicates that these pebbles may artificially be collected or produced for a specific purpose. This study shows that geomorphology and geology can be important in location and development of archaeological sites. The analysis and interpretation for the origin of the pebbles indicates that geological studies can be helpful to interpretation of archaeological studies.

An Analysis of Subject Authorities Related to Korea in the National Diet Library of Japan (일본국립국회도서관의 한국 관련 주제명 전거데이터 분석)

  • Based on the analysis of the NDL authority system, this study was conducted to analyze the characteristics of subject authorities related to Korea in the NDL. The results are as follows. First, NDL subject authorities related to Korea are 3,143 in total including 2,205 headings and 938 subdivisions. Among them, social sciences accounted for more than half with 52.4%, and economics by individual discipline accounted for the most with 552 cases, 17.6%. Second, most of the subject headings of historical events caused by or directly related to Japan are described from the Japanese perspective, and terms familiar to Korea are mainly described in reference, not in heading. Third, subject headings representing Korean characteristics or historical events are considerably lacking or nondescript. Forth, when referring the name of the country, the term 'Joseon (朝鮮)' continues to be used to refer to both South and North Korea; however, it is necessary to subdivide the history after 1948 which includes the era of the 'Republic of Korea' and the 'Democratic People's Republic of Korea'. Using the term Joseon to refer North and South Korea may cause the reader to perceive Korea as persisting in the Joseon Dynasty. Furthermore, while 'Balhae (渤海)' is regarded as Chinese history, it is a part of Korean history and should be added to the Korean historical periods.

2009년도 인쇄 및 관련업계 경기전망 - 한겨울 한파, 일년 내내 이어진다

  • 인쇄물은 크게 줄고, 인쇄기기 투자심리는 꽁꽁 얼어붙고, 인쇄부자재 가격은 계속 오르고..., 2009년 인쇄업계의 그림이다. 미국 금융위기로 촉발한 국내외 경기침체는 2008년에 이어 2009년도 지속돼 우리나라 인쇄업계는 1997년의 IMF외환위기 때보다 더욱 심각한 경영난에 처할 것으로 우려된다. 정부와 경기예측 기관들의 분석을 보면 2009년의 경제성장률은 2%선을 밑돌 것으로 보고 있다. 성장률 2%는 인쇄업계에 치명적이다. 기관과 기업의 홍보물이 크게 감소하기 때문. 특히 불황이 먼저 시작되고 회복은 늦는 특성을 지니는 산업이 인쇄업종이어서 대책 마련이 시급한 상황이다. 분야별 전문가들이 진단한 내용을 보면 2009년 인쇄물 생산은 전년대비 60%선에 머물 것으로 전망되었다. 또한 2009년에는 선거나 특별한 국제행사가 없어 '인쇄물 특수'도 없는 상황이다. 특히 2008년에 종이와 필름 등 원부자재 가격이 큰 폭으로 오른데 이어 2009년에도 인상이 예고되어 있고, 환율상승으로 인한 금융 부담이 커져 자금난이 심각할 것으로 보인다. 그나마 다행이라면 인쇄물 수출이 지난해 수준으로만 유지되면 환율의 영향으로 수출업체들은 채산성이 다소 호전될 수 있다는 점이다. 인쇄설비 투자는 거의 이루어지지 못할 것으로 보인다. 현재의 환율과 경기상황으로 볼 때 신규설비 투자는 불가능에 가깝다. 이에 따라 장비공급 업체들은 영업을 당분간 중단하거나 업종의 다변화를 시도할 것으로 전망된다. 다만 블루오션 개발과 시대흐름에 맞춘 디지털인쇄 장비의 수요는 미동 수준의 움직임이 있을 것으로 보인다. 다음은 분야별로 전문가들이 보는 전망이다.

Design of Customized e-Business Training Supporting System (E-TSS) for Developing Countries (개발도상국을 위한 맞춤형 E-비즈니스 교육지원시스템 설계)

  • Global economy is moving to digital economy accelerated by the rapid development of ICT (information and communication technology). However, the progress in e-business in developing countries has been slow due to the lack of experience, technology, and basic infra structure. One way to solve this problem is to provide them with customized e-business solution, training, and contents service. In this paper, we design an E-business Training Supporting System (E-TSS) for developing countries. It consists of a simple business blog to support business web page and a customized e-business solution. The E-TSS is customized for individual country. This customization becomes more effective utilizing an intelligent agent based upon recognizing unique characteristics such as language and time. The E-TSS is implemented and utilized by APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Women's e-Biz Center.

  • Because intelligent and organized cyber attack, It is difficult to respond to cyber threats with only a small number of information security experts. Accordingly, information security department compared to 2013 it increased by 17%. But there was a problem that cannot train appropriate students for companies. This research examined the Workforce Framework and Knowledge Units for improving this situation. Based on this, educational department in cyber security major was selected to be learning at the university. And it proposed a plan for a managing course to operate. And the result will be utilized as fundamental research of human resources medium- and long-term demand and supply planning in cyber security department.

  • Medical color graphic research will serve as the basis for globally expanding and disseminating the design quality of the company's products through the era of production of medical robots. This study was based on technologies and contents suitable for the era of medical robot bed expansion, universal medical color application, ergonomic color, etc. In addition, the medical bed robot's color research direction was presented from the perspective of universal design. Accordingly, a universal color design was proposed, taking the functions of a medical robot under development by a domestic company as an example. The characteristics of this robot bed can be divided into three types of functions: first, treatment characteristics for prevention of pressure ulcers with curative, second, automatic seat exchange with cleanliness for medical environment, and third, Convenient, which can implement patient transport. The main idea is to present a combination of functional colors appropriate for this. The resulting color analysis and universal color design techniques could be a useful methodology for illustrating the appearance and function of a modern medical robot bed.

  • In the modern society of the 21st century, portable electronic products using secondary batteries are continuously becoming lightweight and miniaturized. And along with this trend, we are active in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where we collect and share information in our daily lives using wearable electronic devices. Therefore, the role of secondary batteries that can be recharged while using small home appliances and digital devices is increasingly important. Along with this increase, secondary battery performance tests require various test methods such as characteristics, lifespan, failure diagnosis, and recycling. In addition, the construction of a battery test system to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the battery, along with guidelines and correct basic knowledge are being considered. Therefore, in this paper, we will examine the characteristics of the secondary battery Li-ion battery according to the charging and discharging scenarios directly connected to the performance of the battery.
