Analysis and Countermeasures for the Trouble Factors of the Spot Installation Pile Using Machine Excavation Method (기계굴착공법을 적용한 현장타설말뚝 시공시 부조화 발생요인 분석 및 대응 방안)

  • Although a range of machine excavation methods are in wide use, including casing, earth drill and reverse circulation drilling, deterioration in pile quality and faulty construction can be often found these days because of trouble in the construction field. For this study, research was conducted in the form of a survey of construction engineers working in the field in order to identify the types and the causes of trouble by focusing on all casing, earth drilling and reverse circulation drilling. By analyzing the causes of trouble, countermeasures could be presented. The data and the analysts presented in this study could be effectively used for minimizing trouble in future machine excavation work during construction.

  • Additive manufacturing (AM, also known as 3D printing) technology gets attention for various effects in the construction industry. It reveals abilities of process automation, high traceability of resource management, construction period precision improvement, and worker safety. However, unlike the existing construction technology, the development of AM construction process causes trial errors and unpredictable accidents. In the present study, the construction AM process is designed for on-site construction, and it performs with empirical tests. Also, we analyzed the causes of qualitative experimental results.

Reinforcement of Shotcrete Lining on the Side Wall of Tunnel in Enlargement of Existing ASSM Road Tunnel (측벽부 숏크리트 보강에 의한 재래식 도로터널 단면확대)

  • The existing tunnel in urban area can be enlarged because of requirement of road-widening by traffic growth. The protector with rectangular cross section can be set up in the tunnel, which will be constructed for enlargement of width, to solve traffic jam around the tunnel. It is impossible to install the rockbolt in the lower area of tunnel due to a limited space between the protector and cutting surface. The objective of this study is to suggest the method of shotcrete thickness increase instead of rockbolt installation in the side wall of tunnel for the stability of tunnel. Numerical analysis was performed to evaluate displacement at the crown of tunnel, convergence of tunnel, and stress in shotcrete lining in 3-lane and 4-lane NATM tunnels enlarged from 2-lane conventional tunnel. There were three types of analysis condition, rockbolt installation, no rockbolt installation, and increase of shotcrete thickness without rockbolt in the side wall of tunnel. There was no difference on the displacement at the crown and the convergence of upper tunnel. In the lower tunnel, the convergence in case of no rockbolt installation was larger as maximum 1.3mm than that in case of rockbolt installation. The stress in shotcrete lining in case of no rockbolt installation was larger as maximum 1.3MPa than that in case of rockbolt installation. Numerical analysis was performed to compare the behavior of shotcrete with rockbolt with that of shotcrete, which its thickness was increased, without rockbolt. The shotcrete has an increase of 20%(250mm ${\rightarrow}$ 300mm, 4-lane tunnel)~25%(200mm ${\rightarrow}$ 250mm, 3-lane tunnel) in its thickness to reduce the stress in shotcrete lining. The behavior of shotcrete lining increased the shotcrete thickness by 20%~25% was similar to that of existing shotcrete lining with rockbolt.

  • The design with construction knowledge and experience can eliminate inefficiency in the process of construction and improve productivity in all phase of construction project. To utilize constructability knowledge most effectively in design phase, the information must be made available to the design team at the proper point in time. Current methods for effective utilization of constructability knowledge have focused on the structuralization of constructability knowledge such as checklist, which lack the consideration of the proper point in time. However, constructability knowledge which is used at the inapposite point in time consequently leads to unnecessary rework. To minimize this inefficiency and improve productivity, project manager needs to consider the design process and know what constructability knowledge is required for specific design activities. This paper therefore presents a design process management using Dependency Structure Matrix (DSM) that focus on information flows between design activities and constructability knowledge. We expect that the results of this paper will support that design process management become comprehensive management related to every phase of construction project beyond design review or inspection in design phase, and be used as a basis of the integration of design and construction.

A Proposal of BIM Work Process to Support Construct-ability Analysis from Practitioners Viewpoint (현장실무자 관점에서의 시공성 검토 지원을 위한 BIM 업무프로세스 제안)

  • In construction site, BIM is used in part of construct-ability review and design mistake checking. However, in a current domestic construction site, except public order project, most of work in private order project has been processing based on 2D work. As an expert resists to certain point in introduction of new technique, it may be shown in the introduction of BIM. For this, We need to analysis construct-ability of introducing BIM, work field of introducing and operational capability about present domestic construction engineers. Therefore, this study solves the problem of existing construct-ability analysis, and it visualizes the various information and objects for an effective job performance. Furthermore, construct-ability analysis by BIM that can use an intergrated management is theoretically examined and practical field-application priority among conclusions is proposed through a survey targeting on the hand-on worker. Therefore, this study suggests a factor supplying for a business-centric introduction plan and support condition.

Effects of Shore Stiffness and Concrete Cracking on Slab Construction Load I: Theory (슬래브의 시공하중에 대한 동바리 강성 및 슬래브 균열의 영향 I: 이론)

  • Long-term floor deflection caused by excessive construction load became a critical issue for the design of concrete slabs, as a flat plate is becoming popular for tall buildings. To estimate the concrete cracking and deflection of an early age slab, the construction load should be accurately evaluated. The magnitude of construction load acting on a slab is affected by various design parameters. Most of existing methods for estimating construction load addressed only the effects of the construction period per story, material properties of early age concrete, and the number of shored floors. In the present study, in addition to these parameter, the effects of shore stiffness and concrete cracking on construction load were numerically studied. Based on the result, a simplified method for estimating construction load was developed. In the proposed method, the calculation of construction load is divided to two steps: 1)Onset of concrete placement at a top slab. 2)Removal of shoring. At each step, the construction load increment is distributed to the floor slabs according to the ratio of slab stiffness to shore stiffness. The proposed method was compared with existing methods. In a companion paper, the proposed method will be verified by the comparison with the measurements of actual construction loads.

Development of Model Requirements Checklist for Utilizing BIM in Construction Phase - Focused on the MEP - (시공단계 BIM 활용을 위한 모델 요구조건 체크리스트 개발 - MEP를 중심으로 -)

  • The application of BIM that can manage and integrate information generated during the entire life cycle of buildings in domestic and overseas construction projects is becoming active. When BIM is utilized in the construction phase, it can shorten the construction period, reduce the occurrence of reworks and improve collaboration capability. However, there are limitations in applying BIM to the construction phase due to the insufficient definition level of domestic BIM guidelines and inadequate design standards. In this regard, this study developed BIM model requirements checklist for the application of BIM in the construction phase. To develop the checklists, 21 domestic and overseas BIM guidelines, three public construction projects and four private construction projects to which construction BIM was applied, were analyzed. Based on the guidelines and cases, a total of 62 construction BIM model requirements (31 model objects and 31 attribute rules) and proposed construction BIM model requirement checklists by dividing the 61 requirements according to the requirement and purpose for utilization were identified. It is expected that the practical applications of the checklists proposed in this study will improve the level of BIM model in construction phase. In addition, this study has its significance as a basic research that can be used in the development of standardized guidelines for BIM model in construction phase from academic aspects.

  • 최근 2백만호 주택건설에 힘입어 많은 민영 및 공공아파트의 시공 및 분양이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 각 건설업체별로 시공방법이 상이함은 물론 그중에는 구공법대로 시공함에 따라 하자발생은 물론 해당 건설업체의 원가절감에도 도움이 되지 못하고있는 실정이다. 두산건설은 $\ulcorner$전 직원의 제안제도$\lrcorner$의 활성화를 통해 신공법 및 개선공법을 적용하여 하자예방 및 원가절감의식을 고취하고 있다. 따라서 필자가 기계책임자로 있는 두산건설의 경기도 고양군 행신 택지개발지구내 두산아파트 현장에서 시행하고 있는 몇가지 개선공법 사례를 소개하고자 한다.

감사원, 2단계 부실공사 방지대책

  • 감사원은 준공된 부실공사에 대해 관련공직자의 책임추궁을 대폭 강화하고 부실시공업체에 대해서도 제재를 강화해 해당업체가 더이상 건설업계에 발을 붙이지 못하게 할 방침이다. 또한 이같은 영업활동제한과는 별도로 부실시공부분은 원칙적으로 철거$\cdot$재시공하도록 하고, 시설물의 내구성 및 기능 저하땐 손해보전요구도 병행해 부실시공업체는 업계생존이 불가능하도록 할 방침이다. 그리고 준공검사와 하자검사제도를 품질검사위주로 전환하고 이를 담당할 전문검사기관을 육성하는 등 부실시공 방지대책을 강력히 추진하기로 했다. 본고는 감사원의 $\ulcorner$2단계 부실공사 방지대책$\lrcorner$ 추진방향을 종합적으로 살펴본 내용이다.
