On Unicast Routing Algorithm Based on Estimated Path for Delay Constrained Least Cost (경로 추정 기반의 지연시간을 고려한 저비용 유니캐스트 라우팅 알고리즘)

  • The development of efficient Quality of Service (QoS) routing algorithms in high speed networks is very difficult since divergent services require various quality conditions, If the QoS parameter we concern is to measure the delay on that link, then the routing algorithm obtains the Least Delay (LD) path, Meanwhile, if the parameter is to measure of the link cast, then it calculates the Least Cost (LC) path. The Delay Constrained Least Cast (DCLC) path problem of the mixed issues on LD and LC has been shown to be NP-hard. The path cost of LD path is relatively mere expensive than that of LC path, and the path delay of LC path is relatively higher than that of LD path in DCLC problem. In this paper. we propose the algorithm based on estimated path for the DCLC problem and investigate its performance, It employs a new parameter which is probabilistic combination of cost and delay, We have performed empirical evaluation that compares our proposed algorithm with the DCUR in various network situations.

  • The development of efficient Qualify of Service (QoS) routing algorithms in high speed networks is extremely difficult to achieve, because in order to operate, divergent services require various quality conditions. If the parameter of concern is to measure the delay on a specific link, the routing algorithm obtains the Least Delay (LD) path. Meanwhile, if the parameter is to measure the link cost, the Least Cost (LC) path is calculated. The Delay Constrained Least Cost (DCLC) path problem of the mixed issues on the LD and LC has been shown to be NP-hard. The path cost of LD path is relatively more expensive than that of the LC path, and the path delay of the LC path is relatively higher than that of the LD path in the DCLC problem. In this paper, we introduce the new factor for balancing cost and delay. The simulation result shows that our introduced factor is satisfied to solve the DCLC problem.

A Study on the Estimation Method of Operational Delay Cost in Bus Accidents using Transportation Card Data (교통카드자료를 이용한 버스 사고 시 운행지연비용 산정 방법론에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to propose a method for the estimation of operational delay cost using transportation card data in bus accidents. Average operational delay time from bus accidents was surveyed among 12 bus companies through an interview method. Then, the operational delay cost was estimated using actual traffic accident data and transportation card data. Results showed that average loss time per bus accident was found to be 45 minutes. In addition, total occupancy of 659 was estimated for the accidents investigated using transportation card data, resulting a total loss time of 494.25 hours. An estimated operational delay cost was 186.9 thousand won per accident, which was 6.37% of social agency cost. The magnitude of this number implied that operational delay cost may have a significant impact on traffic accident cost if included.

  • We propose a heuristic distributed unicast routing algorithm for minimizing the total cost of the path in a point to point network with do]ay constraint. The algorithm maintains a delay vector and a cost vector about the network states and finds the path using this information. In this paper, we show that our algorithm always finds a delay-constrained path if such a path exists and has O(│E│) message complexity(│E│is the number of links in the network). Also, simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better cost performance than other delay-constrained routing algorithms.

  • The end-to-end characteristic Is an important factor for QoS support. Since network users and required bandwidths for applications increase, the efficient usage of networks has been intensively investigated for the better utilization of network resources. The distributed adaptive routing is the typical routing algorithm that is used in the current Internet. The DCLC(Delay Constrained 1.east Cost) path problem has been shown to be NP-hard problem. The path cost of LD path is relatively more expensive than that of LC path, and the path delay of LC path is relatively higher than that of LD path in DCLC problem. In this paper, we investigate the performance of heuristic algorithm for the DCLC problem with new factor which is probabilistic combination of cost and delay. Recently Dr. Salama proposed a polynomial time algorithm called DCUR. The algorithm always computes a path, where the cost of the path is always within 10% from the optimal CBF. Our evaluation showed that heuristic we propose is more than 38% better than DCUR with cost when number of nodes is more than 200. The new factor takes in account both cost and delay at the same time.

  • Many real-time multimedia applications, such as video conferencing have stringent end-to-end delay constraints and consume large amount of network resources. In order to support these applications efficiently, multicast routing algorithms computing least cost multicast trees that satisfy a given end-to-end delay constraint are needed. However, finding such a tree is known to be computationally expensive. Therefore, we propose a heuristic distributed multicast routing algorithm that reduces a “finding multicast tree”that satisfies a given end-to-end delay constraint and minimizes the average resulting tree cost. Also, simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has much better average cost performance than other existing algorithms.

  • 다중 결합 질의에 포함된 다수의 결합 연산지를 효율적으로 처리하기 위해 서는 효율적인 병렬 알고리즘이 필요하다. 최근 다중 해쉬 결합 질의의 처리를 위해 할당 트리를 이용한 방법이 가장 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 이 방법은 실제 결합 시에 할당 트리의 각 노드에서 필연적인 지연이 발생되는 데 이는 튜플-시험 단계에서 외부 릴레이션을 디스크로부터 페이지 단위로 읽는 비용과 이미 읽는 페이지에 대한 해쉬 결합 비용간의 차이에 의해 발생하게 된다. 이들 사이의 실행시간을 가급적 일치시키기 위한 '페이지 실행시간 동기화'기법이 제안되었고 이를 통해 할당 트리 한 노드 실행에 있어서의 지연 시간을 줄일 수 있었다. 하지만 지연 시간을 최소화하기 위해 할당되어질 프로세서의 수 즉, 페이지 실행시간 동기화 계수(k)는 실제 결합 시의 결합률에 따라 상당한 차이를 보이게 되고 결국, 이 차이를 고려하지 않은 다중 해쉬 결합은 성능 면에서 크게 저하될 수밖에 없다. 본 논문에서는 결합 이전에 어느 정도의 결합률을 예측할 수 있다는 전제하에 다중 해쉬 결합 실행 시에 발생할 수 있는 지연 시간을 최소화 할 수 있도록 결합률에 따라 최적의 프로세서들을 노드에 할당함으로서 다중 해쉬 결합의 실행 성능을 개선하였다. 그리고 분석적 비용 모형을 세워 기존 방식과의 다양한 성능 분석을 통해 비용 모형의 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • 시스템에 대한 예방 관리 모형을 고려한다. 시스템이 고장을 일으키면 즉시 최소 수리가 이루어지고 임의로 방문하는 전문 관리인에 의해 시스템을 점검했을 때 연속하는 고장의 수가 적정 개수이상이거나 또는 시스템의 총 작동 시간이 적정 시간이상이면 시스템을 동일한 것으로 교체한다고 한다. 적절한 비용을 부과한 다음 시스템의 단위 시간당 평균 비용을 계산하고 그 비용을 최소화하는 최적의 점검 속도를 찾는다.

  • We consider the problems that consist of designing time, establishment cost, delay time and reliability in designing a mesh network when given link costs and traffic requirements between nodes. Designing time, establishment cost and delay time are less, reliability is higher in designing a mesh network. One of the problems designing time is solved by mesh network topology optimization and routing (MENTOR) algorithm that Aaron Kershenbaum propose, but the others remain. In this paper we propose a new mesh network design algorithm with small computational complexity that the others are solved. The result of the proposed algorithm is better than MENTOR's in total establishment cost, delay time and reliability.

  • As critical infrastructure, bridges play an indispensable role in facilitating the distribution of goods. When bridges reach their end of useful life or get damaged by natural disasters such as earthquakes or storms, they have to be removed and reconstructed. When bridges in service need to be reconstructed, user costs occur from vehicle detours and traffic congestions, and social costs occur from noise and dust during construction periods. However, these user and social costs are not considered during reconstruction and the evaluation methods of those costs are vague. Thus, there is lack of appropriate bridge types that consider these costs. Therefore, this paper identifies the social overhead costs that occur during bridge reconstruction, which is also called, users' socioeconomic values. Next, it proposes a method to evaluate user costs during bridge reconstruction, and appraises the method. User costs are evaluated based on traffic information, social and material volumes including the bridge's daily traffic volume, peak hours, detour distance and time. In addition, time delay costs due to traffic operational costs and bridge reconstruction are also taken into consideration.
