The Guidelines for Station layouts and Their Assessments in Railroad Transfer Centers (철도 환승센터의 시설배치기준 및 평가방안)

  • The mass transit networks in Korea, such as buses, metro and subway, are co-related and the number of transfer points, in which a lot of pedestrian movement is generated, are rising. The functions of the transfer centers, in which several travel modes cross at a point, have to include convenience and comfort for pedestrians using the transfer centers, and such functions can make transit a more attractive travel option and thus eventually contribute to increases in ridership. However, the guidelines for station layouts and their assessments in transfer stations are not suggested so far. So the pedestrian pattern data (pedestrian walking distances and times, pedestrian approaching distances and times, pedestrian walking paths in the inside of stations) was collected and analyzed. Based on the results of the analysis, the ways to measure the quality of comfort for those who using transfer facilities were suggested using the times that pedestrians consume to transfer from a travel mode to another. The walking time of pedestrians at the inside of stations was also measured by pre-selected pedestrian pathways as the guidelines for station layout assessment in transfer facilities.

  • A parking facility choice model. which can be applied to analyze of the driver's parking behavioral changes in response to the local government's parking policy changes and to predict parking demand by the facility types, is developed. Under the context of the stated preference discrete choice model, socioeconomic variables and parking alternative characteristic variables are introduced as explanatory variables. A parking facility choice model for the shopping trip purpose is derived using multinomial logit model and nested logit model and the stated preference data collected in Taegu metropolitan area. The result shows that the sign of all the estimated parameters are logically consistent and the model's goodness of fit is reasonably good. As a result of the elasticity analysis of the model, the elasticity of parking cost is highest, and the elasticity of walking distance between parking place and the destination is higher than parking place searching and ingress time. This means that the parking places are supplied around the destination in the form of small-size parking place. The findings in this study is expected to provide a fundamental data for various short-term parking policy analyses and for parking facility's demand estimations.

Efficient Subsequence Searching in Sequence Databases : A Segment-based Approach (시퀀스 데이터베이스를 위한 서브시퀀스 탐색 : 세그먼트 기반 접근 방안)

  • This paper deals with the subsequence searching problem under time-warping in sequence databases. Our work is motivated by the observation that subsequence searches slow down quadratically as the average length of data sequences increases. To resolve this problem, the Segment-Based Approach for Subsequence Searches (SBSS) is proposed. The SBASS divides data and query sequences into a series of segments, and retrieves all data subsequences that satisfy the two conditions: (1) the number of segments is the same as the number of segments in a query sequence, and (2) the distance of every segment pair is less than or equal to a tolerance. Our segmentation scheme allows segments to have different lengths; thus we employ the time warping distance as a similarity measure for each segment pair. For efficient retrieval of similar subsequences, we extract feature vectors from all data segments exploiting their monotonically changing properties, and build a spatial index using feature vectors. Using this index, queries are processed with the four steps: (1) R-tree filtering, (2) feature filtering, (3) successor filtering, and (4) post-processing. The effectiveness of our approach is verified through extensive experiments.

Evaluation of the Less Development Indicator Based on Transportation Connectivity (교통연계성을 고려한 지역낙후도 지수 산정방안 연구)

  • When evaluating the feasibility of construction projects of large-scaled transportation facilities such as roads or railways based solely on the result of the economic analysis, less development indicators are politically reflected on the investment decision-making because regions whose socio-economic indicators are poor may be disadvantaged or underserved for the projects. Existing less development indicators, however, does not consider the transportation connectivity which indicates how effective the transportation networks are established for the transport of people and goods. In this study, travel time contour maps, travel distance and travel time between regions, and a route curvature were utilized to define new indices which reflect transportation connectivity on the less development indicators. When the new indices are applied, the existing rankings of under-developedness were changed, which means that transportation connectivity could effect on the political decision. In this study, we also suggested the necessity of considering the transportation connectivity when evaluating less development indicators, developed measures of inter-regional linkages, and performed the whole procedures of combining existing and new indices to evaluate the less development indicators.

  • 연구목적: 국내 과일 산업의 한 단계 도약과 대외 경쟁력을 높이기 위해서는 수확작업의 기계화가 시급함. 이 연구는 국내외 과일 수확 기계화 현황과 문제점을 분석하고, 향후 수확작업 기계화 방향을 제시하고자 수행 수확기계 실용화 현황 및 고찰 (국내) 과일을 직접 수확이 아닌 수확 작업을 보조해주는 고지 작업기(수동형, 모터 진동형)와 고소 작업차가 대부분임. 수동형은 사과 감 등을 수확하지만, 작업능률이 낮고 작업자가 쉽게 피로하여 장시간 작업이 불가능하므로 실질적인 대안이 되지 못함. 진동형은 자체 동력을 이용하여 나무에 진동을 가하여 주로 대추 매실 등 소과류 수확에 이용되고, 수확능률은 우수하나 충격 손상이 많아 개선이 요구됨. 고소작업차는 동력원에 따라 충전식과 엔진식으로 구분되고, 충전식은 엔진식에 비해 진동 소음이 적어 쾌적하지만, 작업시간이 배터리 용량에 제한을 받음. 또한 작업대 작동방식에 따라 리프트형과 붐형으로 구분함. 리프트형은 리프트를 이용하여 작업대를 상하로 구동하는 방식으로 높은 위치의 과실 수확이 어렵고, 작업대 넓이 만큼의 작업 공간(과수간의 거리)이 필요함. 붐형은 필요한 곳으로 접근성이 우수하나 무거운 무게를 지탱하기 어렵기 때문에 본체를 무겁게 하거나 수시로 수확된 과일을 하차시켜야 함. (국외) 수확 후 가공되는 과일류와 포도 올리브 오렌지 매실 등 소과류 수확이 기계화되었지만, 사과 복숭아 등 신선과일은 아직도 외국의 값싼 노동자들에 의존하여 수확되고 있음. 현재 실용화된 수확 기계는 진동식 수확기계와 터널식 수확기계가 대표적임. 진동식은 집게형의 부착기를 나무 줄기에 고정한 후 트랙터 동력원으로 나무에 진동을 가하여 수확하고, 올리브 대추 등과 같은 소과류와 과피가 두꺼운 오렌지 등에 적용되고, 수확 작업능률이 매우 높으나 과일의 낙하 상처를 피할 수 없는 단점이 있음. 터널형은 규격화(과수 크기 및 형태, 재식거리)된 과수원에 잘 적응하도록 설계 제작되어, 과수 위를 지나가면서 내부에 설치된 진동장치와 컨테이너로 과일을 수확하고, 와인용 포도 수확기가 대표적임. 기계수확이 가능하도록 과수원 조성단계에서부터 재배양식(과수 좌우 및 전후 거리)을 기계의 제원(바퀴 간격, 작업부 간격 등)에 맞추어 재배함. 과일 수확로봇에 관한 연구는 활발하고 일부에서 실증시험단계에 있음. 결론: 구체적인 추진방향을 제시하면, 단기적으로는 과일 수확작업자의 작업편이성과 노동강도를 줄일 수 있도록 소형 저가 범용성이 우수한 보조기구/기계의 보급을 확대하고, 중장기적으로는 수확기계/수확로봇 개발을 위한 연구개발비 투자를 늘리는 동시에, 기계/로봇이 과수원에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 수형 재식거리 등 재배양식의 표준화가 추진되어야 함.

A Study on the Improvement Method for Efficient Service of E-GEN AED using Time and Spatial Data (시·공간 데이터를 활용한 E-GEN AED의 효율적 서비스를 위한 개선방안)

  • In this study were analyzed the errors on the registration of details information, location of E-GEN (Emergency medical-GEN) AED (Automated External Defibrillator) installation site and the adequacy of spatial arrangement, which suggests an improvement methods of constructing an app or web based on time and space data for efficient operation of considering accessibility and usability. As a result of this study, first, it was not equal to each other for locations of each installation point of AED, that confirmed some area were dense or requiring additional installation. Second, it confirmed the inaccuracies in inputting and registering information about the installed location, such as the actual installation location information and the attribute information of the AED. Third, the main access node and the main address node were connected to a straight line that was found not be connected to the back door, the straight line, the stairs. Also, the opening times of AED installation sites varied according to the week and the season, the entrance was managed by the apartment management office in a separate place, it needs to be established on this information. In conclusion, it proposed a method to improve spatial equity and accessibility, a method to provide accurate distance and time according to actual movement routes in case of emergency, and a possibility of using each facility considering day and time.

Study of Computational Fluid Dynamics for Projection Distance Prediction of the Foam Monitor (폼모니터의 분사거리 예측을 위한 유동해석에 관한 연구)

  • The foam monitor is equipment for extinguishing fires, particularly for oil tankers or cargo areas of the carrying vessel. This equipment is installed on the cargo tank deck. Generally, the projection distance is important for designing an extinguishment. On the other hand, the form monitors in current industry have been designed by trial and error rather than by numerical analysis method. Therefore, the shape design of the new form of monitor is needed. In this study, numerical analysis was performed to determine the projection distance prediction, and experiment results were used to make a comparison with the analysis results. The proposed method was applied to the modified form of a newly designed monitor in a company.

Space Syntax-based Application to Recommend Paths for Female's Safe Leisure Life (Space Syntax 기반 여성의 안전한 여가활동 경로 추천 애플리케이션)

  • In this paper, we propose and implement an application that recommends safe paths for outdoor leisure activity of women based on Space Syntax theory. Compared to general navigation systems which focuses on the shortest time or the shortest distance, the proposed application makes safe paths the first priority. It generates path recommendation with regard to accessibility of travel time and correlation of regions and considers various risk factors for searching for the safest path. Concludingly, the employed Space Syntax algorithm enables the women users to select their own customized paths.

Analysis of Learning Opportunities Provided in Elapsed Time Instruction: Focusing on Quantitative Objectification (경과시간 수업에서 제공되는 학습기회 분석: 양적 대상화를 중심으로)

  • Seeing the elapsed time as a quantity that can be measured is quite challenging for students while making students see it is also challenging for teachers. Tuning on these challenges, this article reports on what learning opportunities elementary teachers provide when they teach elapsed time focusing on quantitative objectification. I observed three mathematics classrooms where the elapsed time was taught by three elementary teachers and did a narrative analysis on the instructions. All three teachers utilized certain tools to support students access to the elapsed time as a quantity. They appropriated various quantitative attributes of the tool. In the case of the analog clock, one teacher tried to quantification the elapsed time with the number of minute hand's turning, while the other teacher indicated the distance of minute hand's moving. One teacher represented the elapsed time with the longitudinal attribute of the time band. Standing on the findings, the didactical implications of various attempts for quantitative objectification of the elapsed time implemented were discussed.

  • 1980년대 초, IBM의 과학자들에 의해 양자역학 현상에 기초한 새로운 현미경이 발명되었다. 뾰족한 금속 팁에 전압을 걸고 전도성 시료의 표면에 접근시키면, 팁이 표면에 접촉하기 직전에 터널링에 의한 전류가 흐르게 된다. 이 전류는 거리에 매우 민감해서 고체 표면에 배열된 원자들에 의해 형성되는 표면 굴곡 (surface corrugation)이 분간 가능하였다. 이 기계가 바로 STM (Scanning Tunneling Microscope)이다 (그럼 1). 이 발명이 있기까지의 약 2세기 가량의 시간 동안 "누구에 의해서도 결코 감지된 적 없는" (H. J. Robinson, Physics Today, March, 24, 1984.) 원자와 분자는 과학자들의 논리 속에 이론상으로 존재할 뿐이었다. STM의 발명으로 인해 인류는 바야흐로 개개의 원자와 분자를 직접적으로 감지할 수 있게 되었던 것이다. 처음으로 STM을 이용하여 원자해상도로 본 표면은 실리콘의 안정한 표면인 Si (111)-7${\times}$7 표면이었는데, 이러한 실리콘 표면의 STM 사진의 예를 그림 2에 나타내었다. (중략)타내었다. (중략)
