This study aims to highlight the social aspects of genetic discrimination as another shadow that biotechnology can influence on social life. To do so, the definition of "genetic discrimination" and three perspectives (exceptionalism, expressivism, and human right discourse) were reviewed. In addition, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) of the United States and the Bioethics and Safety Act of Korea were analyzed. Several social implications for establishing the research and policies of genetic discrimination based on the existing research results of perceived genetic discrimination (the experiences, fears, and coping strategies of genetic discrimination) were suggested. These included public consensus on the definition of genetic discrimination and emphasis on a human rights approach against genetic discrimination; concerns regarding genetic discrimination in both the personal and public domains; raising the consciousness of both health care providers and the public regarding genetic discrimination; and developing psycho-social coping strategies for decreasing the fear of discrimination of asymptomatic people (hereditary carriers).

The purpose of this study is to understand the information use experience of total blindness with OTT. To achieve the study purpose, in-depth interview with nine total blindness using a semi-structured checklist was conducted. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. This study has found 5 categories, 13 theme clusters, and 47 themes. The five categories are as follows: 1) the purpose of information use, 2) difficulties of information use, 3) handling of difficulty in information seeking, 4) perception and feeling, 5) improvement requirement The implications of this study are as follows; 1) There are no significant differences between total blindness and the general people of Information request topic in the use of OTT, 2) negative experience was connected with the accessibility with OTT, 3) there is a demand of better conditions with technical sides of OTT, 4) On the whole, they have a positive perception with OTT services.

The constituents of math learning styles are information recognition and information processing in the cognitive domain and attitudes toward math learning and environments of math learning in the affective domain. Each of the constituents has two opposing styles; there are the visual style and verbal style in information recognition; and there are the whole style and analytical style in information processing. And as for attitudes toward math learning, there are two styles which are the authoritative and goal-oriented style and the practical and entertaining style. Also as for attitudes toward environments of math learning, there are two styles which are the interior-oriented style and exterior-oriented style. There can be classified into 16 types of mathematics learning by the combination of a total of 8 styles of mathematics learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the preference of the students from three middle schools located in Daegu Metropolitan City to the styles and types of mathematics learning.

키로깅(Keylogging) 방지를 위한 입력방식은 무작위로 배열된 숫자나 문자를 마우스로 선택하는 가상 키보드가 주로 사용되고 있다. 그런데 무작위로 배열된 숫자나 문자는 순차적인 배열에 비해 가시성이 떨어지므로 사용자의 입력시간이 지연되어 사용하기 불편하다는 단점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 숫자나 문자를 순차적으로 배열하여 사용자가 쉽게 인식할 수 있는 시각적 추상화 방법을 기반으로 하는 회전형 가상키보드 시스템(Rotary-type Virtual Keyboard System; R-VKS)을 제안한다. 제안하는 R-VKS는 기술적 측면에서 키로깅이나 마우스 커서 위치추적 등의 악성코드로부터 안전한 특성을 갖고, 공간 지각적 측면에서 사용자의 가시성을 높여 입력시간을 단축하는 효과가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to explore secondary school teachers' perceptions of student evaluations, focusing especially on students' performance in the classroom. The study selected Germany as a representative country where teachers' performance evaluation strongly affects students' school pathways. The researchers selected 4 English teachers and conducted in-depth interviews with them. The results indicated that German English teachers perceived students' performance as an individual evaluation and provided each student with oriented learning materials and evaluation results. The second, they used formative evaluations to confirm and motivate their students' learning process as well as peer assessments. The third, the German English teachers showed strong empowerment in the evaluation process. The fourth, they motivated to participation in-class activities teacher through performance evaluation considering fairness. Based on the results, future studies should need to observe real settings in the classroom and students' perceptions of their evaluations. the study also suggested using practical performance evaluations to enhance students' motivation and participation in the classroom. This study identified limitations of the research and made significant recommendations for future studies.

Historical dramas are changing in response to the public who wants more dramatic development, and historical costumes are also expressed in a modern sense. The purpose of this study is to examine the modernization of historical costumes in historical dramas and how the modernization of historical costumes in historical dramas is fostered from the learner's point of view with suggesting implications. As a result of this study, first, the essential problem with the modernization of historical costumes was the excessive modern transformation that undermines historical facts in historical dramas. Second, the negative perceptions of the modernization of historical costumes in historical dramas included the loss of the unique Korean identity, decreased immersion in drama, and the educational influence of media. Positive perceptions focused on the increased interest through raising awareness of traditional culture, compromises on changes in the times, and increased visual play of the public. Third, the implications of the modernization of historical costumes in historical dramas require the awareness improvement of participants in historical drama and a thorough preliminary investigation by the costume designer on the historical costume, an in-depth study of traditional costumes, a systematic educational approach, viewers' attention, and government effort.

인류 문화 발달에 있어 언어의 발달과 함께 이루어진 가장 초기 단계의 의사소통 수단은 몸짓이며, 또 다른 정보 교류 방법은 그림이다. 그런 점에서 구석기 시대의 동굴 암각화에서 볼 수 있는 들소, 사슴, 큰 새 등은 단순히 대상물을 묘사한 개별적 그림으로 가정하기 보다는 오히려 종교적 제의 양상을 알려주는 상징으로 이해하는 것이 바람직하다. 그러나 잦은 풍화 작용과 침식 작용으로 인하여 암각화의 인식에는 한계가 있다. 이에 디지털영상처리 기법을 기반으로 인간시각에 더 잘 보이도록 영상을 향상시키면서 더 짧은 연구기간에 더 않은 암각화를 올바로 인식하고, 더 정확하게 문명의 흐름을 밝혀 낼 수 있다. 본 논문에서 디지털 영상처리 기법을 신축적으로 적용시켜 암각화 인식에 거슬리는 불필요한 영상 잡음들을 제거하고 영상을 더 선명하게 보이게 하는 알고리듬을 제안한다.

인간이 문자를 어떻게 인식하는가에 관한 많은 연구 결과는 인지 과학자들과 심리학자들에게 의해서 주도되어 왔다. 이에 따라 본 논문은 인간의 시각 체계에 대한 인지적 연구 이론 및 원리를 요약하고 오프라인 한글 문자 인식을 위한 인지적 모델의 필요성을 설명한다. 여러 실험 결과와 주의 이론, 체제성 원리 및 맥락 효과를 도입한 새로운 모델을 개발하고 한글의 구조적 특성을 고려한 구현 모델로 제시한다.

Purpose: In this work we suggested a grating chart of vision test which could be used to measure the sense of distance and motion of object. Methods: A couple of gratings with periodic structure were fabricated. Through a lens the grating images showing geometrical shapes were projected on a vision test chart in order to form a new grating chart of vision test. In rotating and translating the gratings the examinee perceived the variation of position of gratings by the variation of the sense of distance and motion. Results: The results of the sense of distance and motion measured in rotating and translating the gratings showed the average errors of ~2.98% and ~1.73% at $\theta=15^{\circ}$ respectively compared to calculated values. Conclusions: The grating chart of vision test suggested in this work can be used as a new test chart that lets an examinee perceive a sense of distance and motion of object.

To access PDF documents on an electronic book, PDF documents need to be converted into EPUB which is a standard format of the electronic book. When converting a PDF document into EPUB format, we need to convert color representations from CMYK into RGB representation. It is possible to give a visual effect and a user interaction using a video and JavaScript supported by EPUB format. The schemes for converting from PDF to EPUB are studied in this paper. (1) The first study is to carry out not to lose the color conversion effect using an ICC profile. (2) The second one is a layout configuration in the conversion process. (3) The third one is to highlight a specific content such as quiz platform to provide interactive visual effect for electronic book readers. Finally, in this paper we will show the usability of EPUB based eBook converting scheme through user study.
