A study of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Speaker's Development Process in Terms of Social Constructivism: Focused on the Products and Periodic Co-revolution Process (인공지능(AI) 스피커에 대한 사회구성 차원의 발달과정 연구: 제품과 시기별 공진화 과정을 중심으로)

  • his study classified the development process of artificial intelligence (AI) speakers through analysis of the news text of artificial intelligence (AI) speakers shown in traditional news reports, and identified the characteristics of each product by period. The theoretical background used in the analysis are news frames and topic frames. As analysis methods, topic modeling and semantic network analysis using the LDA method were used. The research method was a content analysis method. From 2014 to 2019, 2710 news related to AI speakers were first collected, and secondly, topic frames were analyzed using Nodexl algorithm. The result of this study is that, first, the trend of topic frames by AI speaker provider type was different according to the characteristics of the four operators (communication service provider, online platform, OS provider, and IT device manufacturer). Specifically, online platform operators (Google, Naver, Amazon, Kakao) appeared as a frame that uses AI speakers as'search or input devices'. On the other hand, telecommunications operators (SKT, KT) showed prominent frames for IPTV, which is the parent company's flagship business, and 'auxiliary device' of the telecommunication business. Furthermore, the frame of "personalization of products and voice service" was remarkable for OS operators (MS, Apple), and the frame for IT device manufacturers (Samsung) was "Internet of Things (IoT) Integrated Intelligence System". The econd, result id that the trend of the topic frame by AI speaker development period (by year) showed a tendency to develop around AI technology in the first phase (2014-2016), and in the second phase (2017-2018), the social relationship between AI technology and users It was related to interaction, and in the third phase (2019), there was a trend of shifting from AI technology-centered to user-centered. As a result of QAP analysis, it was found that news frames by business operator and development period in AI speaker development are socially constituted by determinants of media discourse. The implication of this study was that the evolution of AI speakers was found by the characteristics of the parent company and the process of co-evolution due to interactions between users by business operator and development period. The implications of this study are that the results of this study are important indicators for predicting the future prospects of AI speakers and presenting directions accordingly.

  • In this study, the interior acoustic field of a speaker system with rectangular closed cavity and its effect on the impedance and the sound pressure reponses are investigated by applying the finite element method to the rectangular enclosure. Based on a good agreement with the theoretical and the experimental, it is founded that FEM is useful method for the development of a speaker system generating the diverse mode.

  • In this paper, the thermoacoustic refrigerating system was implemented and its operation was experimentally verified. The system is composed of several parts ,4 inch midrange speaker, speaker housing, chamber, stack housing, stack of plates, heat exchangers, thin pipe and cavity. The system is filled with He gas at 10 bar and contains T-type thermocouples and condenser microphone for measuring the temperature and pressure inside, respectively. In addition, cooling water is used for protecting speaker from thermal destruction and cooling down the hot heat exchanger. For the experimental verification of the implemented refigerating system, electrical impedance and resonance characteristics were measured. The results showed that it was most efficient to drive the system at 340 Hz. When operated at 340 Hz, $30^\circ{C}$ environments and 50 electical watts, the temperature of the cold region decreased by $16^\circ{C}$. The dissatisfaction mainly comes from the incomplete thermal insulation of the cold region. We also pointed out some guidelines to improve the performance for later study.

  • Current traffic guidance system offers the information of traffic light using a speaker to everybody including the blinds without object certification. Therefore, the current system gives stress by noisy sound to normal person. It is difficult for the blind to hear informations such as location, current traffic sign light status, and weather information, because of the vehicle noise and surroundings noise. If the blind or sight disabled person who has the RFID tag or has a white stick with RFID tag approaches to street crossing, RFID reader recognizes the tag and it serves necessary information through speaker or bluetooth. And also it is possible for the blind to use less expensive one with RFID tag than the white stick with RFID Reader.

  • There are some methods to enhance the ‘sweet spot’in loudspeaker-based 3D audio systems. Most of them can be only applied to narrow frequency band inherently. In this paper, we introduce the more robust 3D sound reproduction system which has far wider robust bandwidth. The system applies a sum and difference filter to the conventional three loudspeaker-based one.

  • Speech may not be clearly understandable in the room that is highly reverberant, due to the loss of consonants intelligibility. Therefore, it is very important to obtain a high sound pressure level of direct sound in reverberant room. A properly designed sound reinforcement system can not provide the good speech intelligibility without the absorption treatments of walls. With using the highly directional speaker, we can transmit the sound energy into only the areas where people are sitting. This can be help to improve the speech intelligibility. In this paper, even in reverberant rooms, it will be shown that the good speech intelligibility can be obtained by only the directivity control of speaker without the room treatment. Also, it would be more improved by the properly room tuning using an equalizer.

  • In general, analog amplifiers for 5.1 or more channels have been used to configure home theater systems. In order to make high-performance systems, it is desirable to process audio signals in digital techniques in consideration of output and efficiency of speakers. Especially we need 7.1-channel system to separate audio signals efficiently. In this paper we implemented the architecture of S/PDIF 7.1-channel digital amplifier for home theater systems. The amplifier shows good performance with less loss of original sounds because of both strong characteristics against noises and direct processing of input data.
