A New Early Flowering, Spray Chrysanthemum Cultivar for Cut Flower, "Green witch" with Pompon Type and Green Petals (조기개화성의 녹색 폼폰형 절화용 스프레이국화 "그린위치" 육성)

  • A new spray chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum) cultivar "Green Witch" was developed from a cross between 'S04161' and 'S04109' by selection of seedlings and lines at the Flower Research Institute, Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services (ARES) from 2004 to 2008. Its characteristics were investigated three times from 2006 to 2008 under condition of forcing culture in spring and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of "Green Witch" was October 19th, and year-round production was possible by day length treatment. Its capitulum was 3.2cm in diameter, and had 15.9 head per stem in autumn. Its ray floret was green central zone. To flower in the short day condition, for "Green Witch" was about 44 days in spring, and "Green Witch" showed the vase life of 25.3 days in autumn. This cultivar was registered for a commercialization in 2008.

Experimental Feasibility Study on Low-Temperature Differential Stirling Engines with Water Spray Heat Transfer (스프레이 열전달을 이용한 저온도차 스털링 엔진의 실험적 개념 연구)

  • This paper presents the results of an experimental feasibility study on low-temperature differential Stirling engines with water spray heat transfer. The water spray enhances the efficiency of the heat transfer from heat sources to the engine and reduces the performance degeneration due to the dead volumes of conventional heat exchangers. A test Stirling engine was developed and an experiment was conducted to determine the characteristics for the initial start-up, steady-state operation, and power output for various flow rates and temperatures of hot supply water. The test results showed that larger flow rates led to reductions in the minimum working temperature of the hot water at start-up. During a series of steady-state operations, higher flow rates and temperatures increased the working speed. Furthermore, the work per cycle and power output were also increased. Eventually, the test Stirling engine had a power level of 0.05 W. Based on this, further research will be conducted to obtain a higher power output and investigate various applications.

Properties of Fire Resistance in Tunnel Concrete According to the Changes of Heating Curve (온도가열곡선 변화에 따른 콘크리트의 내화특성)

  • To obtain tunnel concrete safety in case of fire, this study analyzed fire proof characteristics by fire proof method change, and the results are as follows. As a fire proof characteristics by RABT temperature heating curve, plain concrete experienced severe spalling by initial extremely high temperature. In view of fire proof method, in the cases of organic fiber mixing method and board method, spalling was prevented, and in the case of spray method, severe spalling of over 100mm depth occurred along with exposure of structural concrete including spray coat by heat stress, etc while metal lath, the stiffener, falls off. As for fire proof characteristics by RWS temperature heating curve, in case of organic fiber inclusion, concrete surface experienced fusion of within 5mm, while in the case of spray method, spray coat was severely spalled to a depth of over 100mm causing structural body concrete to expose its reinforcement, and also in the case of board method, board was fused by high temperature, causing structural body concrete be directly exposed to high temperature, which triggered overall fall-off phenomenon, so in such extraordinary high temperature heating condition, establishment of special fire proof measures is needed.

  • 인쇄전자 기술은 기존의 다양한 인쇄 공정에 전자 재료를 적용하여 전자소자 및 전자소자에 적용 가능한 제품들을 생산하는 기술이다. 인쇄 공정은 크게 접촉식과 비접촉식으로 구분할 수 있는데 비접촉식 인쇄 방식의 대표적인 예가 잉크젯과 스프레이 방식을 이용한 인쇄라고 할 수 있다. ESD는 정전기력을 이용한 스프레이 방식의 인쇄 공정으로써 기존의 정전기력만을 이용한 인쇄 방식과는 달리 정전기력과 공압을 동시에 적용하여 상대적으로 빠른 시간 내에 나노 박막의 코팅과 패터닝이 가능한 공정이다. 일반적으로 터치 패널에 사용되는 ITO의 경우는 증착 방식에 의존하고 있어 공정 시간이 길고 생산 단가도 비싸다는 단점이 있다. ESD 코팅의 경우는 기존의 증착 방식이 아닌 직접 인쇄 방식으로 공정 시간과 비용을 절감할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 투명 전도막 형성에 사용되는 전도성 고분자의 경우 ITO를 대체할 수 있을 만큼의 성능을 지니고 있어 터치 패널용 전극으로 응용할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 ESD 공정을 이용하여 ITO 대체가 가능한 터치패널용 투명전극을 형성하였다. 전도성 고분자의 코팅 두께에 따라 전기적인 특성이 변화하지만 투과도 80%를 전후로 면저항이 $60{\sim}80{\Omega}/{\Box}$의 성능이 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 코팅된 투명 전도막을 이용하여 터치패널용 모듈 제작을 통해 동작 여부도 확인할 수 있었다.

A New Spray Chrysanthemum Cultivar, 'Blue Hope' with Anemone Type and White Petals for Cut Flower (백색 아네모네형 절화용 스프레이국화 '블루호프' 육성)

  • A new spray chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum) 'Blue Hope' was bred by the Flower Research Institute, Gyeongsangnam-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services in 2009. The cultivar 'Blue Hope' was initially derived from the cross in 2005 between 'Ford', a spray chrysanthemum cultivar, with white anemone type, and 'Chopin', a spray chrysanthemum cultivar with white anemone type. The cultivar has anemone type with white petals. After the evaluation of the characteristics under shade culture in summer and retarding culture in spring and consecutive selection from 2007 to 2009, 'Blue Hope' was selected finality. The natural flowering time of 'Blue Hope' was October 24th, and year-round flowering is possible by shading or lighting treatment. The growth of plant was very vigorous and response time 6.5 weeks. The diameter of flower was 4.9 cm. Number of flowers per stem was 19.1 in autumn. Days to flowering under the short day treatment was about 45 in spring and its vase life was 23.8 days in the autumn season. This cultivar was resistance white rust and consumer's preference of new spray is high level than the control.

  • A new spary chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum) cultivar 'Yellow Eye' was developed from a cross between 'Angela' and 'Angaesoguk' followed by selections of seedlings and lines at the Flower Research Institute, Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services (ARES) from 2003 to 2007. Its characteristics were investigated three times from 2005 to 2007 under forcing culture in spring and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of 'Yellow Eye' was October 24th, but year-round production was possible by shading and lighting. Its flower was 3.3 cm in diameter, and had 31.7 petals and 27.9 flowers per stem in autumn. It has pollenless, single type flowers with yellow petals and green flower center. To flower in under the short day condition, for 'Yellow Eye' was about 41 days in spring, and 'Yellow Eye' showed a vase life of 23.1 days in autumn. This cultivar was registered for a commercialization in 2007. 'Yellow Eye' would be cultured under the greenhouse and rain shelter condition in Korea.

Effect of Application Method and Concentration of Plant Growth Retardants On Plant Quality of Potted Saxifraga rosacea Moench

  • Four different plant growth retardants (PGRs), paclobutrazol, flurprimidol, daminozide, and chlormequat, were applied to potted Saxifraga rosacea 'Kumoma' and 'Kumoma-Gusa' plants for control of the growth and flowering. Paclobutrazol (10, 20, 40, $80mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$), flurprimidol (5, 10, 20, $40mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$), daminozide (500, 1000, 2000, $4000mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$), and chlormequat (50, 100, 200, $400mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$) were applied to the plants by a foliar spray or drenching. In 'Kumoma', application of $40mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ paclobutrazol by a foliar spray or drenching reduced plant height by 12.5 and 12.6 cm, and flower length by 3.4 and 3.3 cm, respectively. On the other hand, in 'Kumoma-Gusa', drenching of paclobutrazol reduced plant height by 10.7 to 12.6 cm and flower length by 2.0 to 3.9 cm with increasing concentration, but the number of florets almost fell to 20 as compared to 40.5 in the control. 'Kumoma-Gusa' plants drenched with $80mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ paclobutrazol and sprayed with $40mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ flurprimidol had the shortest heights of 10.7 and 9.9 cm, and floral length of 2.0 and 1.5 cm, respectively. A flurprimidol drenching at $40mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ delayed the harvest by 3-13 days as compared to the control and the smallest number of florets, 15.6, was observed in this treatment. In both cultivars, chlormequat and daminozide did not effectively influence the growth and flowering. However, number of florets increased to more than 41 at all concentrations and up to 63, the greatest floret number, with chlormequat drench in 'Kumoma-Gusa'. These results demonstrated that over $40mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of paclobutrazol or 5 to $20mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ of flurprimidol could be used as PGRs to control the growth of floral length and flowering for improving potted plant quality in S. rosacea 'Kumoma' and 'Kumoma-Gusa'.

스프레이 법으로 제작된 MWCNT 투명전도막의 특성

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have excellent electrical, chemical stability, mechanical and thermal properties. In this paper, networks of Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) materials were investigated as transparent electrode. Sensor films were fabricated by air spray method using the multi-walled CNTs solution on glass substrates. The film that was sprayed with the MWCNT dispersion for 60 sec, was 300nm thick. And the electric resistivity and the light transmittance rate are $2{\times}10^2{\Omega}cm$ and 60%, respectively.

Investigation on the Preparation Method of TiO2-mayenite for NOx Removal (질소산화물 제거를 위한 TiO2-mayenite 제조 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In order to apply a photocatalyst (TiO2) to various building materials, TiO2-mayenite was prepared in this study. The TiO2 was synthesized using the sol-gel method by fixing titanium isopropoxide (TTIP) and urea at a ratio of 1 : 1. Later, they were calcined in a temperature range of 400-700 ℃ to analyze the properties according to temperature. BET, TGA, and XRD were used to analyze the physical and chemical properties of TiO2. The nitrogen oxide removal test was confirmed by measuring the change in the concentration of NO for 1 h according to KS L ISO 22197-1. The prepared TiO2 samples exhibited an anatase crystal structure below 600 ℃, and TiO2 (urea)-400 showed the highest nitrogen oxide removal rate at 2.35 µmol h-1. TiO2-mayenite was prepared using two methods: spraying TiO2 dispersion solution (s/s) and sol-gel solution (g/s). Through BET and XRD analysis, it was found that 5-TiO2 (g/s) prepared by spraying a sol-gel solution has maintained its crystallinity even after heat treatment. Also, 5-TiO2 (g/s)-500 showed the highest removal rate of 0.55 µmol h-1 in the nitrogen oxide removal test. To prepare TiO2-mayenite, it was confirmed that mayenite should be blended with TiO2 in a sol-gel state to maintain the crystal structure and exhibit a high nitrogen oxide removal rate.

유리 기판 위에 합성된 기능성 나노코팅의 코팅 방식에 따른 특성분석

  • 야외에 설치 운영되는 태양광발전 시설과 설비들은 여러 요인들로 인해 쉽게 오염이 되고 이로 인한 효율 저하 및 유지 비용증가로 인하여 경제성이 저하되는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기능성 나노코팅을 이용한 태양광 묘듈의 표면 코팅으로 내오염 특성을 향상시켜 오염에 의한 태양광 발전효율과 유지비용의 절감에 대한 방안을 제시하였다. 기능성 나노코팅은 태양광 모듈 커버글라스와 재질이 같은 유리 기판위에 코팅하였고, 코팅 방식에 따른 변화를 실험하였고, 코팅 방식으로는 딥핑(dipping), 스프레이, 천, 브러쉬를 사용하여 수행하였다. 유리 기판 위에 합성된 기능성 나노코팅의 특성분석은 내오염 특성, 광투과도, 접촉각, 부착력을 수행하였고, 실험에 활용된 기능성 나노코팅이 유리 기판 표면 오염방지에 탁월한 효과를 가짐을 확인하였다.
