A Spatio-Temporal DSMS for the Real-time Management of Moving Objects (이동체의 실시간 관리를 위한 시공간 DSMS)

  • 오늘날 모바일 장치 기술, 위치 측위 기술, 무선 통신 기술 등이 급속도로 발달하고 이동체 위치 데이타가 널리 활용됨에 따라 차량 관리 시스템, 차량 배차 및 제어 시스템 등과 같은 이동체 위치 데이타를 실시간으로 서비스하기 위한 시스템이 개발되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 시스템에서 기반 시스템으로 사용되는 MO(Moving Object) DBMS 같은 이동체 관리 시스템은 이동체의 실시간 스트림 관리에 비효율적이고, 기존의 DSMS(Data Stream Management System)와 같은 스트림 관리 시스템은 공간 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하지 못하고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이동체 위치 데이타의 효율적인 실시간 관리를 위한 시공간 DSMS를 설계 및 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시공간 DSMS는 스탠포드 대학의 STREAM(STanford stREam dAta Manager)을 기반으로 이동체 위치 데이타의 실시간 관리와 공간 및 시공간 질의 처리 기능을 지원하는 시스템이다. 특히, 시공간 DSMS에서 사용하는 시공간 함수는 호환성을 위해서 OGC에서 제시한 "SQL을 위한 심플 피쳐 명세"를 따르는 표준 인터페이스를 지원한다. 마지막으로 본 논문에서 구현한 시공간 DSMS를 이동체 위치 데이타의 실시간 관리가 필요한 실시간 모니터링 분야에 적용해 봄으로써 시스템의 효용성을 입증하였다.

  • In ubiquitous environments, many continuous query processing techniques make use of operator network and sharing methods on continuous data stream generated from various sensors. Since similar continuous queries with the location information intensively occur in specific regions, we suggest a new operator sharing method based on grid partition for the spatial continuous query processing for location-based applications. Due to the proposed method shares moving objects by the given grid cell without sharing spatial operators individually, our approach can not only share spatial operators including similar conditions, but also increase the query processing performance and the utilization of memory by reducing the frequency of use of spatial operators.

  • The up-streams of the continuous streaming of data packets with lower importance level in the wireless sink node can cause congestion and delay, they affect on energy efficiency, memory size, buffer size, and throughput. This paper proposes a new wireless sink congestion control mechanism based on tournament scheduling. The proposed method consists of two module parts: stream decision module part and service differentiation module part. The final winner in the tournament controls congestion effectively, minimizes packet loss due to congestion, decreases energy consumption, and improves QoS. The simulation result shows that the proposed method is more effective and has better performance compared with those of congestion descriptor-based control method, reliability-based control method, and best-effort transmission control method.

Design and Implementation of a Splicer for Seamless Swiching between Programs in the Terrestrial DMB (지상파DMB에서 끊김없는 프로그램의 전환을 위한 스플라이서의 설계 및 구현)

  • As the T-DMB service is launched, some service requirements become necessary to send local programs such as advertisement and specific programs at the local broadcasting station while re-transmitting the broadcasting signal coming from the central or other station. In this paper, we propose a signalflow required for the effective splicing in the T-DMB system which usesboth MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 system specifications, and we illustrate the reconfiguring process into the ensemble stream that is widely used for the transmission of the T-DMB signal. Moreover, its performance is confirmed by comparing the images decoded at the recevier when the transport stream is swiched by using the splicer implemented through the proposed techniques.

  • This paper proposes a real-time transferring method of captured video stream to existing handphones without downloading additional software. For real-time transferring of captured vid대 data to handphones, two methods, the WAP based pull-method and the WAP based push-method, are proposed in the paper. Also for transcoding of captured frame into a WBMP image, a threshold setting method which uses the average value of total values of pixels in a scene is proposed. The methods we proposed are implemented in stream engines as video transcoding filter(called WBMPFilter) and video transferring medium(called WirelessMedium). And the experimental system shows 1 frame per 3 seconds transfer of video to existing handphones.

  • In this paper, we propose a priority control algorithm using hop count, called HC-PC(Priority Control Algorithm using Hop-Count) for steaming mode CLS, in wide area ATM networks. In our HC-PC algorithm, hop count of packet is increased by one as traverse CLS hop and is used as loss priority when a CLS buffer is congested. That guards packets with higher priority form congestion. The average packet loss probabilities are evaluated via mathematical analysis for HC-PC algorithm case and no priority control case. The simulationresults indicate that our algorithm may offer better performance in terms of loss fairness for pathe length and yield high utilization of newtork resource.

  • In this paper, we will provide a way to grant a differentiated service rate that is according to priorities of WLP device and WUSB/DRD transfer mode by improving D-SoQ that considers existing QoS of WiMedia WSS environment based on UWB technology. The proposed method makes it possible to differentiate SoQ performance and throughput, based on priority of traffic streams.

  • CAPTCHA is a verification scheme whether or not a human user has made a service request. Most CAPTCHAs that are based on text, image, or simple game suffer from vulnerability that can be compromised by automated attacks and stream relay attacks. To resist such attacks, CAPTCHA that utilizes human recognition as been suggested but it show poor usability for deploying in the Internet. We propose an Emerging Image Cue CAPTCHA that offers improved usability and resists stream relay attacks, as well. We also examine the usability of the proposed CAPTCHA and investigate the attack resistance by conducting user study and experiments on simulated network environment.

  • Rel-time application programs have constraints which need to be met between media-data. It is client-leading synchronization that is absorbing variable transmission delay time and that is synchronizing by feedback control and palyout control. It is the important factor for playback rate and QoS if the buffer level is normal or not. This paper, The method of maintenance buffer normal state transmits in multimedia server by appling feedback of filtering function. And synchronization method is processing adaptive playout time for smooth presentation without cut-off while media frame is skip. When audio frame which is master media is in upper threshold buffer level we decrease play out time gradually, low threshold buffer level increase it slowly.

  • This paper presents encryption techniques for digital right management solutions of MPEG-4 streams. MPEG-4 is a format for multimedia streaming and stored in the MPEG-4 file format. We designed three kinds of encryption methods, which encrypt macro blocks (MBs) or motion vectors (MVs) of I-, P-VOPs (Video Object Planes), extracted from the MPEG-4 file format. We used DES to encrypt MPEG-4 data Based on theses three methods, we designed and implemented a DRM solution for an Internet broadcasting service, which enabled a MPEG-4 data streaming, and then compared the results of decryption speed and quality of rendered video sequences to get an optimal encryption method.
