  • 방사선을 센싱하는 센서들에는 어려 종류가 있으며, 그 센서에 따라서 감도나 센싱방식이 다양하다. 본 연구에서는 해상도가 높은 범용 CCD 센서를 이용하여 방사선을 검출하는데, 들어오는 영상에서 방사선에 반응하여 생기는 백색량을 처리하여 방사선량을 측정하고 공간상에서 방사선이 가장 많이 나오는 포인터를 제시하며 스테레오 카메라 방식의 구현으로 방사선원까지의 거리 산출할 수 있다. 추후 영상을 합성하여 입체화 시키는 연구도 진행할 예정이다. 논 연구의 결과물로 예기치 않은 방사선 사고의 경우 효과적인 사친처리에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

A Study on Stereo Visualization of the X-ray Scanned Image Based on Volume Reconstruction (볼륨기반 X-선 스캔영상의 3차원 형상화 연구)

  • As the existing radiation scanning systems use 2-dimensional radiation scanned images, the low accuracy has been pointed out as a problem of it. This research analyzes the applicability of the stereo image processing technique to X-ray scanned images. Two 2-dimensional radiation images which have different disparity values are acquired from a newly designed stereo image acquisition system which has one additional line sensor to the conventional system. Using a matching algorithm the 3D reconstruction process which find the correspondence between the images is progressed. As the radiation image is just a density information of the scanned object, the direct application of the general stereo image processing techniques to it is inefficient. To overcome this limitation of a stereo image processing in radiation area, we reconstruct 3-D shapes of the edges of the objects. Also, we proposed a new volume based 3D reconstruction algorithm. Experimental results show the proposed new volume based reconstruction technique can provide more efficient visualization for cargo inspection. The proposed technique can be used for such objects which CT or MRI cannot inspect due to restricted scan environment.

Development of Three-Dimensional Gamma-ray Camera (방사선원 3차원 위치탐지를 위한 방사선 영상장치 개발)

  • Radiation source imaging system is essential for protecting of radiation leakage accidents and minimizing damages from the radioactive materials, and is expected to play an important role in the nuclear plant decommissioning area. In this study, the stereoscopic camera principle was applied to develop a new radiation imaging device technology that can extract the radiation three-dimensional position information. This radiation three-dimensional imaging device (K3-RIS) was designed as a compact structure consisting of a radiation sensor, a CCD camera, and a pan-tilt only. It features the acquisition of stereoscopic radiation images by position change control, high-resolution detection by continuous scan mode control, and stereoscopic image signal processing. The performance analysis test of K3-RIS was conducted for a gamma-ray source(Cs-137) in radiation calibration facility. The test result showed that a performance error with less than 3% regardless of distances of the objects.

  • This paper presents a 3-D visualization technique using stereo radioactive images to provide efficient inspection of fast moving cargo objects. The proposed technique can be used for such objects which CT or MRI cannot inspect due to restricted scan environment. Stereo radioactive images are acquired from a specially designed equipment which consists of a X-ray source, linear radioactive sensors, and a moving stage. Two radioactive sensors are installed so that rectified stereo X-ray images of objects are acquired. Using the stereo X-ray images, we run a matching algorithm to find the correspondences between the images and reconstruct 3-D shapes of real objects. The objects are put in a parallelepiped box to simulate cargo inspection. Three real objects are tested and reconstructed. Due to the inherent ambiguity in the stereo X-ray images, we reconstruct 3-D shapes of the edges of the objects. The experimental results show the proposed technique can provide efficient visualization for cargo inspection.

The Study for the Fast Detection of the Stereo Radiation Detector using the Image Processing (영상처리기반 스테레오 감마선 탐지장치의 고속탐지에 관한 연구)

  • Leaked Radioactive source in nuclear power station, radiation related facilities and the aging nuclear power plant for the dismantling must need to detect and remove early to prevent major accidents. In this paper, we implemented a single sensor-based gamma-ray detectors stereo which can provide the distance to the radiation source, a direction and doserate information for fast and efficient decontamination work the radiation source. And we have carried out an algorithm development for high-speed detection of the detection equipment. Two detectors are required for stereo structure for obtaining the distance information of the radioactive source, but we designed the only sensor-based detection device for the weight reduction. We have extracted the region of interest and obtained the distance calculation result and distribution of radiation source in order to minimize a stereo image acquisition time. Detection time of the algorithm showed a shorter time of about 41%.

  • In the study, stereo-based of gamma-ray sources detector for the space including the gamma-ray source to scan in a raster scan method, and obtains a visible light image and the gamma-ray image. We went to retrieve and visualize the distance to source and the direction of the 3-dimension information from Stereo gamma-ray detectors. Configuration of the detector consisted of gamma-ray detecting sensor for gamma-ray Sources, pan-tilt for the scanning of the raster for detecting sources, and CCD camera for visible-light image. Implement a stereo structure of the device to measure the spatial distribution of source, the gamma-ray Detector and CCD camera for the stereo image acquisition was as each configuration 2. The gamma-ray detector and a visible light camera to revision the distribution of detection source, After performing each of the cameras of the stereo correction and shows the distribution of the gamma-ray Sources through 중첩 visible light image and the gamma-ray image. After Rectification process of Left and right image, we were derived visualization results of the stereo image.

  • 방사선을 센싱하는 센서들에는 어려 종류가 있으며, 그 센서에 따라서 감도나 센싱방식이 다양하다. 본 연구에서는 해상도가 높은 범용 CCD 센서를 이용하여 방사선을 검출하는데, 감도를 높이기 위해서 신실레이터라는 물질을 CCD CHIP 앞에 부착하였고, 들어오는 영상에서 방사선에 반응하여 생기는 백색량을 처리하여 방사선량을 측정할 수 있다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 또한 Panning을 하며 공간상에서 방사선이 가장 많이 나오는 포인터를 제시할 수 있다. 추후 스테레오 카메라 방식을 구현하여 방사선원까지의 거리 산출과 영상을 합성하여 입체화 시키는 연구도 진행할 예정이다. 논 연구의 결과물로 예기치 않은 방사선 사고의 경우 효과적인 사고처리에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The Visualization and the Fast Detection of Gamma Radiation Source using Stereo Image Processing (영상처리기반 감마선원 거리탐지 고속화 및 가시화 연구)

  • The stereo radiation detection system detects the gamma source and acquires two dimensional left and right images for gamma source and visible objects using the detection result. And then the system measures the distance to the radiation source from the system in 3D space using stereo vision algorithm. In this paper, we implemented the fast detection algorithm for gamma source from the system in 3D space to reduce the detection time with image processing algorithms. Additionally, the system's performance is verified through experiments on gamma irradiation facilities. As a result, if the fast detection algorithm applied to the system, we can confirm that the detection system represents a 35% better performance than the conventional detection method that is full scanning to acquire the stereo image. We also have visualized a gamma source distribution through a 3D monitor using the stereo vision algorithm in order to provide the information of radiation spatial distribution to the user efficiently.

  • In order to measure the radiation, there are types of sensors plurality. I was using the detection method and sensitivity of the CCD sensor in the scintillator and collimator in the sensor. In this study, in order to detect radiation using a CCD sensor with high resolution, by measuring the radiation dose by processing the visible light generated in response to radiation of the image coming into the CCD in the scintillator in space it is to present a pointer that radiation comes out most. It is intended to imaging by calculation of the distance to the radiation source to the implementation of the stereo camera system video in the future.

  • In case of dismantling of nuclear power generation facility or radiation accident, the accurate information of gammaray source is essential for rapid decontamination. In order to more efficiently represent the position of the gamma ray to be removed, we create a spatial domain based on the real image. And we can perform decontamination of gamma-ray source more quickly by expressing the distribution of radiation source. The developed gamma ray imaging device overlaps with the visible image after gamma - ray detection and provides only two - dimensional image, but it does not show the distance information to the source. In this paper, we have developed a operation environment using the 3D visualization model for reporting effective decontamination operation.
