Electrokinetic Remediation of Organic Mixture Contaminated Soil (복합 유기 오염물로 오염된 세립질 지반의 Electrokinetic 정화 처리에 관한 연구)

  • In this research, phenol was selected as a representative hydrophilic organic compound and phenanthrene as a representative hydrophobic organic contaminant in petroleum. Fine-grained soil which was manufactured artificially in laboratory was contaminated and EK remediation tests were executed. Also, in order to increase removal efficiency, the surfactant that had been used with improvement technique at the pump-and-treat was used by enhanced method. In the test, the phenol which has high solubility is easily removed, but phenanthrene which has low solubility is almost not. Also, it seems to be the delay phenomenon that the phenanthrene is accumulated near the cathode department vicinity at the enhanced technique which applied the surfactant, but the removal efficiency increases as the surfactant concentration increases. By the test which increases with time, the enhanced method with increasing time is more efficient than the method with increasing surfactant.

  • This paper proposed a new time adapted threshold using the standard deviations of Wavelet coefficients after Wavelet transform by frame scale. The time adapted threshold is set up using the sum of standard deviations of Wavelet coefficient in level 3 approximation and weighted level 1 detail. Level 3 approximation coefficients represent the voiced sound with low frequency and level 1 detail coefficients represent the unvoiced sound with high frequency. After reducing noise by soft thresholding with the proposed time adapted threshold, there are still residual noises in silent interval. To reduce residual noises in silent interval, a detection algorithm of silent interval is proposed. From simulation results, it is demonstrated that the proposed algorithm improves SNR and MSE performance more than Wavelet transform and Wavelet packet transform does.

  • 본 논문은 영상에서 형태적 정보를 추출하는데 사용되는 수학적 형태학(mathematical morphology)에 퍼지 집합 이론을 적용하여 새로운 퍼지 수학적 형태학을 제안한다. 일반적인 수학적 형태학은 이진 영상에만 적용되는 한계를 가지고 있었다. 이를 그레이 스케일 영상에도 적용 가능하도록 한 Sinha와 Dougherty[8]이 제안한 방법도 기하학적 형태 변환을 보장하지 못하는 결점이 있었는데 본 논문에서는 그 결점을 제거하는 새로운 수축(erosion)과 확장(dilation) 연산을 정의하고 그 특성을 연구하였다. 본 논문이 제안한 방법과 [8]의 방법을 실제 영상에 대한 실험으로 비교하였다.

배관 세척장치의 성능평가

  • 점차 복잡해지고 있는 사회적 욕구를 만족시키기 위한 건물에서는 반드시 복잡한 설비가 요구되고 있고, 이러한 설비시스템 중에는 급수, 급탕 및 배수설비라고 하는 배관시스템이 없다면 기능유지에 막대한 지장을 초래할 것은 자명하다고 하겠다. 이러한 배관시스템에서는 항시 또는 일부 사용되어질 물이나 사용된 물이 흐르기 때문에 배관내부에 발생하는 스케일(scale)이나 슬라임(slime) 등은 피할 수 없는 사실인 것이다. 건축물 내에 설치된 각종 배관은 건물의 기능을 유지하고 보건위생과 직결되는 중요한 기능을 담당하고 있어 세척의 필요성이 매우 높음에도 불구하고 배관의 수명이 다할 때까지 거의 세척이 이루어지지 않고 사용되어 왔다. 이들 배관에 대한 세척은 배관의 수명연장과 관마찰 계수를 낮추어 급수의 수송동력을 절감할 수 있고, 난방관의 열전달 효과를 높여 에너지 절약 효과를 거두어 건물의 유지관리 비용 절감에 기여할 수 있음에도 적절한 세척공법이 개발되지 않고 있다. 이러한 관점에 맞추어 건물배관의 특성에 맞도록 고압 세척장치를 개발하고 이를 이용한 세척공법을 적용하고자 하였다. 즉, 배관 내에 압축공기를 주기적으로 분사하여 맥동현상이 일어나도록 하면서 기포를 발생시켜 기포가 관의 내벽에서 성장하여 파괴될 때 관내에 부착된 이물질을 제거할 수 있고, 또한 세척효과를 높이기 위하여 관의 벽면에 접촉하면서 배출되는 과정에서 이물질을 제거할 수 있도록 구조와 아울러 이들 장치를 이용한 세척방법의 적용성에 대해서 고찰하고자 한다.

Control of scale formation using high voltage impulse (고전압 임펄스에 의한 스케일 제어)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of application of the high voltage impulse (HVI) technique to the control of scale formation by calcium carbonate, which is pointed out as an important issue in industrial water treatment. The HVI system consisted of the power supply, high voltage generator, capacitors, switch and impulse generator was designed and made in laboratory scale, which can make 17kV impulse. HVI was introduced to the reactor that was filled with synthetic water containing $Ca^{2+}$ion. The concentration of calcium ion decreased only 3.0% after 5 minutes of contact time. However, it decreased up to 13.7% after 60 minutes of HVI contact time. Temperature and pH increased but conductivity decreased due to precipitation of the calcium carbonate. Although the decrease in concentration of calcium ion was not sufficient, it was verified that the HVI technique could be applicable for the softening and desalting processes.

  • This paper deals a method to deliver more realistic sound by cancelling the cross-talk which is inherent to the 5.1 channel speaker system. The acoustical model for cross-talk cancellation is the free field model. This model minimizes distortion of sound. 1 used the bark scale sound quality compensation which based on psycho-acoustic. For the surround channels, band-limited sound quality compensation is performed in the frequency domain. I also performed the sound qualify assessment test on the traditional 2 channel stereo and 5.1 channel system. This test is performed in the tort chamber which satisfies the ITU-R specifications. 1 uses the IACC(Inter-Aural Cross-Correlation) to determine the preferences of the amateur and the golden ear experts to asses the trans-aural filter. According to the result from the proposed method, I got more the 38dB separation rates with the Dolby standard speaker array. The results on the diffusion by the subjective test with the experts shows 0.4∼0.5 point Increased then before.

Development of Chemical Cleaning Agents for Cleaning Indoor Water Supply Pipes (옥내급수관 세척용 화학세정제 개발 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to develop cleaning agents for the indoor water supply pipe which is environmentally friendly and suitable for removing scale by using various organic acids, inorganic acids, and some additives. Among various organic acids, oxalic acid, citric acid, and malic acid showed good cleaning efficiency of iron oxides which were main components of the indoor water supply pipe scale. Several cleaning agents were formulated by adding chemical additives into these organic acids and evaluated for removal of iron oxides. In this study, it was found that nonionic surfactants were excellent for the removal of iron oxide scale among various additives. Two types of cleaning agents($F_1$, $F_2$) with comparatively high solvent power for iron oxides were formulated in this study. The cleaning agents $F_1$ made by organic acids and some additives were formulated to be safe and environmentally friendly, but seemed to have disadvantage due to their comparatively low cleaning efficiency of iron oxide than $F_2$. But, the cleaning agents $F_2$ prepared by adding inorganic acid a little to $F_1$ showed comparatively good cleaning efficiency of iron oxide and could be recommended for removing hard scale of iron oxides in the indoor water supply pipe. Thus, it is considered that the formulated cleaning agents should be selected based on the extent of scale in the indoor water supply pipe.

Then the application and replaying method using the cross-talk cancellation explained here is introduced. Extraction of Iris Codes for Personal Identification Using an Iris Image (홍채를 이용한 생체인식 코드 추출)

  • In this paper, we introduce a new technology to extract the unique features from an iris image, which uses scale-space filtering. Resulting iris code can be used to develop a system for rapid and automatic human identification with high reliability and confidence levels. First, an iris part is separated from the whole image and the radius and center of the iris are evaluated. Next, the regions that have a high possibility of being noise are discriminated and the features presented in the highly detailed pattern are then extracted. In order to conserve the original signal while minimizing the effect of noise, scale-space filtering is applied. Experiments are performed using a set of 272 iris images taken from 18 persons. Test results show that the iris feature patterns of different persons are clearly discriminated from those of the same person.

A Field Evaluation of Calcium Carbonate Scale Prevention using Molecular Vibration in Subway Tunnels (분자진동을 이용한 스케일 방지 기술의 지하철 터널 내 현장적용성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the field applicability of Quantum Stick in scale deposit prevention for subway tunnels in Seoul. This technology was installed into drainpipes and its performance was monitored through occasional site visits. SEM and EDS were also performed on scale collected from these drain pipes. Results showed a decrease in scale deposits due to Quantum Stick treatment. In the field test, the device was found to be effective in preventing scale formation in new pipes as well as reducing existing scale in previously installed pipes. However, further investigations are necessary to account for various environmental conditions. In conclusion, the results indicate that molecular Vibration technology is effective in suppressing scale formation.
