A Real Time Location Based IoT Messaging System using MQTT (MQTT 활용 실시간 위치 기반 IoT 메시징 시스템)

  • In this paper, we design and implement a real time IoT messaging system that can collect location information of moving vehicles and pedestrians in real time using MQTT protocol and provides location based information service in administrative area. We implemented MQTT based IoT device for vehicle location information collection and communication and MQTT based smartphone application for pedestrian location information service. IoT clients can send messages to the server in administrative units by using the MQTT Topic which is equal to administrative names. The SLIMS (Seoul Location based IoT Messaging System) implemented in this study is able to analyze the real time traffic volume of pedestrians and vehicles by tracking clients. It also can deliver messages to clients based on coordinate range. SLIMS can be used as a real-time location-based information service for large-scale IoT devices such as real-time flow population and vehicle traffic analysis and location-based message delivery.

  • Car-sharing services are one of the successful model of sharing economies. The car-sharing service is a kind of car rental service that can pay the cost per minutes, also can makes it easy to book and return by smart phone at any time. Experts predict that the car-sharing services will likely dominate the auto market in the future by reducing the burden on consumers' purchasing cost of car and resolving the environmental issues caused by the vehicle. Therefore, a differentiated service strategy is needed to establish a competitive caching service among these companies. In this study, we surveyed differentiation cases by comparing and analyzing domestic caching companies, And customized service tailored to the situation and effective vehicle type infotainment. As a result of this study, the proposed service method change, customized service provision, and new platform application are expected to be detailed and in depth.

  • Vehicles are used in daily life as convenient transport, it is important to authenticate driver because vehicles are controlled by driver. Especially, in these days, there is a discussion on introduction of Driving Under the Influence car-starting locking device installation for preventing accidents caused by Driving Under the Influence of alcohol, these car-starting locking device installation requires a lot of money and time. Suitable user authentication for solving user's inconvenience during the disabled and men of national merit to receive discount benefits is needed. In this paper, For solving these problems, we propose the efficient vehicle control and user authentication system for preventing driving under the influence and providing the disabled and men of national merit benefit based on driver authentication by using user's smartphone NFC communication and user's biometric information.

A Study on Extraction Method of Hazard Traffic Flow Segment (고속도로 위험 교통류 구간 추출 방안 연구)

  • The number of freeway traffic accidents in Korea is about 4,000 as of 2020, and deaths per traffic accident is about 3.7 times higher than other roads due to non-recurring congestion and high driving speed. Most of the accident types on freeways are side and rear-end collisions, and one of the main factors is hazard traffic flow caused by merge, diverge and accidents. Therefore, the hazard traffic flow, which appears in a continuous flow such as a freeway, can be said to be important information for the driver to prevent accidents. This study tried to classify hazard traffic flows, such as the speed change point and the section where the speed difference by lane, using individual vehicle information. The homogeneous segment of speed was classified using spatial separation based on geohash and space mean speed that can indicate the speed difference of individual vehicles within the same section and the speed deviation between vehicles. As a result, I could extract the diverging influence segment and the hazard traffic flow segment that can provide dangerous segments information of freeways.

Gaze Recognition System using Random Forests in Vehicular Environment based on Smart-Phone (스마트 폰 기반 차량 환경에서의 랜덤 포레스트를 이용한 시선 인식 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose the system which recognize the gaze using Random Forests in vehicular environment based on smart-phone. Proposed system is mainly composed of the following: face detection using Adaboost, face component estimation using Histograms, and gaze recognition based on Random Forests. We detect a driver based on the image information with a smart-phone camera, and the face component of driver is estimated. Next, we extract the feature vectors from the estimated face component and recognize gaze direction using Random Forest recognition algorithm. Also, we collected gaze database including a variety gaze direction in real environments for the experiment. In the experiment result, the face detection rate and the gaze recognition rate showed 82.02% and 84.77% average accuracies, respectively.

  • As much interest recently location based service, a study to analyze the movement patterns of the users from getting a lot of large amounts of data collected from a GPS installed in the smart device. Also it is recorded in the log file in the form of day-to-day personal computer, the development of a variety of a smart phone, a black box, and navigation. This data is collected by the user have been developed a variety of personalized services. In this paper, using the black box camera, such as the vehicle to form a social network platform that broadcasts real-time traffic utilization real-time video information.

  • Recently, the time in which children moves by car become frequent, they stay longer in the car because leisure life including camping and etc. increased. Children whose physical activities are active were subject to restriction because of the limited car boarding visual space and on security. Because of limited space in cars, domestic and foreign automotive companies show the different glass roof applied in cars that exhibited wide clear view in order to remove tedious and stuffy of children while they stay for a long time inside the car. In addition, the potential probability in which the Smart Car that the IT technology is grafted research and research that it utilizes the door window glass as the display is progressed and which the glass roof can be used as the screen can be sufficient. In this study, the in-vehicle display application case and Smart Devices constellation application were benchmarked. The car glass roof application method of the constellation studying content which performed the user survey for the child by the car with the parents whose movement is frequent and considers the child and fundamental interaction way tried to be drawn and we try to propose.

A Study on the Estimation of Design Service Traffic Volume for Turbo Roundabout (국내 나선형 교차로 도입을 위한 적정교통량 산정연구)

  • It is generally known that a two-lane roundabout has some problems in safety such as increasing conflicts, typically merging and diverging conflicts and conflicts between entering traffic and exiting as well as turning traffic. To solve these problems, a turbo-roundabout had been developed and has successfully brought safer and more efficient operation in other countries. In this study, micro simulations using VISSIM were conducted to investigate the maximum value of service traffic volume. It was found that operation of turbo-roundabouts was influenced by traffic volume for each turning traffic, and the maximum values of traffic volume were values between 2,400 and 2,800 vehicles per hour as rates of traffic volume for each turning traffic. Typically, turbo-roundabouts have limited to operate in conditions with more than 30% for left-turning traffic volume.

  • The Railway Safety Act of 2014 strengthened the 'Railway Safety Management System' to establish autonomous safety management for railway operators and railway facility managers. Accordingly, it is required to establish and implement risk assessment and safety measures for risk management. However, the current risk assessment system is carried out at the fragmented safety management level within individual fields, which has caused difficulties in establishing and implementing risk assessment and safety measures. In addition, the technical standards of the safety management system stipulate that risk assessment of railway operators is mandatory, so standardized standards for risk assessment of railway facilities and railway vehicle maintenance are needed. Therefore, in this paper, we first verified railway risks by analyzing railway accident data for the last 10 years, and proposed a standardized framework to effectively assess and manage risks through a case study of a condition-based smart maintenance system developed based on railway vehicle maintenance data.

  • In order to reduce the time and cost used in insurance processing, studies have been actively carried out to apply blockchain smart contract technology to car insurance. However, by using traffic data that is insufficient to prove accidents, existing studies are being exposed to the risk of insurance fraud, such as forgery and overstated damage by malicious insurers. To solve this problem, we propose an accident data-based reliability estimation model by using both various types of data through sensors, RSUs, and IoT devices embedded in automobiles and smart contracts. In particular, the regression model was applied in consideration of the weight estimation according to the type of traffic accident data and the reliability estimation model trained according to various accident situations. The proposed model is expected to effectively reduce fraud and insurance litigation while providing transparency in the insurance process and streamlining it is well.
