오늘날 생활환경에서 디지털 TV, 휴대용 단말기, 인터넷 셋톱박스 등 임베디드 시스템이 탑재된 정보가 전제품을 쉽게 찾아 볼 수 있다. 정보가전제품은 가전제품의 본래 기능뿐만 아니라 다른 정보가전제품과 상호 작용을 통한 인텔리전트한 기능의 수행이 요구된다. 이와 같은 인텔리전트한 기능을 수행하기 위해서는 단순한 기능만을 수행하는 펌웨어 수준의 임베디드 시스템이 아니라 다양한 기능을 수행하는 스마트 임베디드 시스템이 요구된다. 스마트 임베디드 시스템은 인텔리전트한 기능을 제공하기 위해서 네트워킹, 멀티프로세싱 등의 기능이 제공되는 범용 운영체제 수준의 성능을 가진 운영체제의 탑재가 요구된다. 그러나 이러한 범용 운영체제는 수십 초의 긴 부팅 시간을 요구함으로 이전의 파워온 (Power-On)과 동시에 사용할 수 있는 전통적인 가전제품이나 산업기계의 사용자에게는 매우 큰 불편을 초래할 수 있다. 특히 복잡한 공정을 수행하는 공장 산업기계의 임베디드 시스템은 shutdown 후 정상가동 까지 걸리는 시간이 제품 생산량 및 품질에 큰 영향을 미친다. 이와 같이 다양한 분야에서 적용된 스마트 임베디드 시스템의 부팅시간은 스마트 임베디드 시스템의 성능을 평가하는 중요한 요소가 된다. 본 논문은 임베디드 환경 하에 범용 운영체제인 리눅스를 활용하여 빠른 부팅을 구현하였다. 부팅 단계에서 영향을 미치는 부트로더, 커널 그리고 루트 파일시스템의 각 구성요소를 최적화하는 연구를 수행하였으며, 그 결과 HBE-EMPOS II 기준으로 부팅시간이 11초로 감소되는 성과를 얻었다.

획기적인 아이디어나 상품 개발은 인간 생활 방식을 혁명적으로 바꾸기도 하고 다양한 상품과 결합하여 보다 빠르게 진화하기도 한다. 불과 몇 년 전에 개발된 스마트폰은 기존의 전화 기능에 게임, 음악, 인터넷 등 컴퓨터의 기능이 탑재되어 현대인의 생활에 없어서는 안 될 필수 아이템이 되었다. 필자가 개발한 First Guitar로 명명된 스마트폰용 기타 어플리케이션 (Guitar Application)은 현재 시장에서 판매되고 있는 여타 프로그램과 달리, 실제 기타 연주의 느낌을 구현하고자 개발되었다. 본 논문은 First Guitar 개발 과정에서 논의하고 고려했던 다양한 기능과 사용자 중심의 디자인에 대한 연구이다.

본 논문은 최근 급속하게 대중화된 스마트폰을 활용하여 학습 효과 및 두뇌 개발을 목표로 기능성 게임을 구현하였다. 구현을 위하여 이미 구현되어 있는 스마트폰용 기능성게임들을 비교 분석하여 최근 스마트폰으로 다양한 게임을 즐기는 사용자들에게 숫자를 기억하고 입력하는 두뇌 개발 기능성 게임을 안드로이드 기반으로 개발하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the usability and user interface of different display sizes for smart phones. For this purpose, two different display sizes and two different operating systems were used. Estimation values and observation values were calculated using the key-stroke level model (KLM) for 11 functional factors. The processing times were decreased when a large display size was used, but this tendency did not have statistical significance. There was no difference in the processing times when different types of operating systems were used. Nevertheless, some character input tasks showed a little shorter processing times with large display size than with an ordinary display size.

스마트TV는 TV와 휴대폰, 그리고 컴퓨터 등 여러 개의 스크린을 활용하여 동영상을 볼 수 있는 TV를 의미한다. 스마트TV는 또한 콘텐츠를 인터넷에서 실시간으로 다운받아 볼 수 있고, 스포츠 결과, 사건 사고, 다른 나라의 소식, 그리고 이메일 등을 바로 확인할 수 있는 복합적인 커뮤니케이션 시스템이다. 반면에 이전의 TV는 단순한 방송을 시청하는 도구로 사용되었지만, 최근에 등장한 스마트TV는 방송을 보는 것과 참여하는 것, 그리고 선택하는 것을 포함하고 있다. 즉 TV에 네트워크 기능을 추가하며, 각종 앱을 설치하고, 이러한 앱들을 통해서 정보검색/물건구매, VOD 시청, 인터넷 게임, 소셜네트워크 사용 등 다양한 기능을 활용한다. 본 기사에서는 스마트TV 기술, 구성요소, 그리고 각 제조사별 특징을 분석하고, 스마트TV의 발전 방향 등 스마트TV의 현황 등에 대해서 정리한다.

Smart car is a vehicle which maximizes convenience, safety, and user experience. The traditional vehicle style will be replaced by a smart car. The objective of this paper is to find essential quality attributes that consumers want. We provide a method to select a best smart car reflecting their preference based on the quality attributes. We derive Kano's quality attributes by an exploratory survey and show an example to implement their decision using the Analytic Hierarchy Process method. As a result, the quality attributes were classified into two groups of attractive quality and indifference quality. The respondents evaluated that the safety of smart cars was more important than the convenience and user experience. However, the smart car was required more functions related to the convenience criteria. These results will provide important implications for smart car design.

한국정보통신기술협회(이하,TTA)에서는 "HTML5 기반 스마트 TV 플랫폼(TTAK.KO-07.0111/R2)"표준(이하, 스마트 TV 2.0 표준)을 2016 년 6 월에 개정하였으며, 본 논문에서는 스마트 TV 2.0 표준을 준수하여 개발되는 스마트 TV 용 앱 개발도구(SDK, Software Development Kit)의 두 가지 확장 내용을 다룬다. 첫 번째 확장 내용은 스마트 TV 2.0 표준이 개정됨에 따라 추가되는 기능인 고급입력 API, 녹화 및 다운로드 API 인터페이스를 확인하고 검증할 수 있는 검증기능 구현에 대한 내용이며, 두 번째 확장 내용은 표준기반 TV 애뮬레이터를 스마트 TV 앱 개발도구에서 사용 가능하게 하는 인터페이스 구현에 대한 내용이다. 본 논문에서는 표준기반 서비스를 만드는 개발자에 대한 지원과 표준기반 TV 앱 생태계의 활성화를 위한, 스마트 TV 플랫폼 표준 앱 개발도구 확장기능의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 소개한다.

Recently, use of smartphones has increased so sharply at all ages that addiction problems have emerged. This study analysed factors, focusing on demographic variables, that impact on smartphone addiction of elementary students. First, differences between distributions of addicted groups and those between distributions of most frequently used smartphone functions per variable are analyzed. As a result, grade and academic achievements yield the biggest differences between distributions of addicted groups and gender, grade, and academic achievements yield differences between distributions of most frequently used smartphone functions. Also, differences between distributions of most frequently used smartphone functions per addicted user group are regarded significant. Furthermore, factors affecting smartphone addiction are analysed through the logistic regression analysis and decision trees, where grade, academic achievements, dual-income parents, and residential areas are found affecting in that order.

With the expansion of digital media platform, there has been a new conceptualization about public function of public broadcasting in and around European countries. Although there are differences between countries, Universal Access including smart and Internet media has been emphasized in Britain and France. However, there is lack of public discussion on service strategy of Internet and smart media platform when public function of public broadcasting is discussed. Therefore, this study tried to investigate not only the public function of public broadcasting in the field of Internet and smart media through audience research but also how the national public broadcasting stations ensure public interest and competitiveness in the field of Internet and smart media platform. The results suggested that smart phone users evaluated real-time broadcasting and VOD are the most important services among the public functions which public broadcasting stations have to persue. Futhermore, the users showed high intension to use when the free real-time broadcasting service is offered. Therefore, public broadcasting stations have to improve the social recognition on necessity and public interest of public broadcasting stations through the free real-time broadcasting services on Internet and smart media platform. And policies which can ensure competitiveness in the era of digital media are needed to become important broadcasting institute.

국내 스마트 그리드 산업 발달이 가속화 됨과 더불어 스마트 미터에 대한 표준도 구체화 단계에 접어들고 있다. 현재 한전 표준 저압 전력량계 규격에 원격 펌웨어 업그레이드 기능이 추가가 되면서 기존 스마트 미터에 기능을 추가하기 위한 방법에 업계의 관심이 쏠리고 있으며, 물리적인 원격 펌웨어 업그레이드 방법에 대한 1차적인 접근뿐 아니라 미터의 기능에 최적화 되기 위한 업그레이드 과정의 구성방법, 안정적이고 강인한 펌웨어 전송 및 업그레이드를 위한 구체적인 방법까지 총체적으로 연구될 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 원격 펌웨어 업그레이드 방법을 위한 일반적인 방법들에 대한 고찰과 장 단점을 논하고 실제 하드웨어를 구성하여 DLMS프로토콜을 통해 원격업데이트 기능을 구현하였다.
