  • As the quality of the medical treatment service provided by large hospitals grow, the number of patients utilizing the facilities is increasing dramatically. Various studies such as order communication system and treatment guidance system are under their process in order to shorten the waiting time for patients. However, the existing methods assign the treatments in successive order without recognizing the situation of each treatment, therefore increasing a patient's standby time at a hospital. This paper proposes a context-aware treatment guidance system, which recognizes the previously undermined estimated waiting time of each treatment for a patient and recommends a treatment with shorter estimated sojourn time first. This context-aware treatment guidance system provides detailed information of treatment services based on the recommended order of treatments to a patient's smartphone. By utilizing the context-aware treatment guidance system introduced in this paper, patients can reduce their standby time at hospitals to the minimum while hospitals can efficiently service more patients at the same amount of time. The proposed context-aware treatment guidance system proves to be outstanding in treatment order recommendation through comparisons to previously used methods.

Methods: To develope real-time chemical exposure monitoring system, IoT (Internet of Things) sensor technology and regulations were reviewed. We developed and produced smart sensor. A smart sensor is a system consisting of a sensor unit, a communication unit, and a platform. To verify the performance of smart sensors, each sensor has been certified by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS). Results: Chemicals (TVOC; Total Volatile Organic Compounds, Cl2: Chlorine, HF: Hydrogen fluoride and HCN: Hydrogen cyanide) were selected according to a priority logic (KOSHA Alert, acute poisoning statistics, literature review). Notifications were set according to OEL (occupational exposure limit). Sensors were selected based on OEL and the capabilities of the sensors. Communication is designed to use LTE (Long Term Evolution) and Wi-Fi at the same time for convenience. Electronic platform were applied to build this monitoring system. Conclusions: Real-time monitoring system for OEL of hazardous chemicals in workplace was developed. Smart sensor can detect chemicals to complement monitoring of traditional workplace environmental monitoring such as short term and peak exposure. Further research is needed to expand the scope of application, improve reliability, and systematically application.

  • Purpose: Smart insoles are wearable devices that are inserted into shoes. Smart insoles with built-in pressure and acceleration sensors can measure the plantar pressure, stride length, and walking speed. This study evaluated the validity and reliability of the plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on flat ground. Materials and Methods: Twenty one subjects were included in this study. After wearing smart insoles, I-SOL® (Gilon, Seongnam, Korea), the subjects walked a 10 m corridor six times at a rate of 100 steps/min, and the middle three steps, free from direction changes, were chosen for data analysis. The same protocol was repeated after wearing Pedar-X (Novel Corporation, Munich, Germany), an insoletype plantar pressure measurement equipment with proven validity. The average maximum pressure (Ppeak, kPa) and the time at which Ppeak appeared (Ptime, %stride) were calculated for each device. The validity of smart insoles was evaluated by using the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of Ppeak and Ptime between the two instruments, and Cronbach's alpha was obtained from the Ppeak values to evaluate the reliability. Results: The ICC of Ppeak was 0.651 (good) in the hallux, 0.744 (good) in the medial forefoot, 0.839 (excellent) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.854 (excellent) in the hindfoot. The ICC of Ptime showed 0.868 (excellent) in the hallux, 0.892 (excellent) in the medial forefoot, 0.721 (good) in the lateral forefoot, and 0.832 (excellent) in the hindfoot. All ICC values showed good or excellent results. The Cronbach's alpha of Ppeak measured in the smart insoles was 0.990 in the hallux, 0.961 in the medial forefoot, 0.973 in the lateral forefoot, and 0.995 in the hindfoot; all indicated excellent reliability in all areas. Conclusion: The plantar pressure measurements of smart insoles during walking on a flat ground showed validity compared to Pedar-X, and high reliability after repeated measurements.

  • In general, crowded places, such as banks, government offices and hospitals, require the customer to wait for a certain period of time. Thus according to the order of the wait, customers takes waiting numbers. In this way, so customers should always check the order of waiting processes that they can not carry on another affairs. In this paper, we develop an application, that is SmartQ, managing queue using a mobile handset. SmartQ is an easy-to-use application allowing customers an alternative to the classic queue management systems. With this application, they are aware of the waiting conditions in real time for each of their services. They can indicate the time they wish to come and take a virtual ticket in the queue. It provides service notification, the number of waiting person, and expected waiting time.

  • Currently, different medical institutions have been carrying out the e-healthcare system project. The system includes electronic medical record and prescription delivery system, and, the Medical Treatment law permits electronic signature for medical record management, which reduced the relevant costs and enabled sharing medical record. And medical solution using online certificates is expanding its application. In that light, the role of certificates became more important than ever. However, in contrast to active effort made to manage personal certificates, certificates related to medical solutions and other types of work are not being managed properly. Most work-related certificates are saved in office computers, which makes them vulnerable to various security threats. Although certificate servers can be used as a solution to this problem, hospitals must build the server separately and, therefore, small and medium-size hospitals can be reluctant to bear the burden. This study proposed a way to design and implement an effective and secure certificate management system by save the certificate file as a BLOB, using existing resources without needing to build a separate certificate server, at minimized costs.

  • Nowadays, the interests about medical service and health concerting, in other words "Healthcare",are increasing. For healthcare, one of the most convenient and populated methods is taking nutritional supplements like vitamin everyday. According to social currency, we realize ' Automatic Pill Dispenser (APD)' in order to make the storage of pills easy and to help people take pills steadily periodically. First, the APD alerts at the time when the user sets. To prevent polluting pills, if the ultrasonic sensor recognizes user hands, and then after the APD distributes pills through activating the motor. If there are more the APDs, for example, hospitals can manage manpower more efficiently. Furthermore, If it is recorded which and how much pills are distributed automatically, It can be expected that people can take the pills more efficiently and healthfully.
