Cho Gwang-jo's Pure Conscience and Grief (조광조 도학의 이념적 순정성과 감성의 문제)

  • Cho Gwang-jo(趙光祖, 1482-1519) was the moralist who had the purest conscience and aimed the devoted politics among many fellow Confucianists of Chosun Dynasty. He even criticized his teacher who was in his late forty years for not being able to control his emotions when he was just a teenager. That is to say, he was the one who have kept his cold reasons for entire life. Nevertheless, as mentioned before, Cho Gwang-jo was very faithful to his emotions and also very honest. We find that he was definitely emotional. He demanded to change the relationship between the king and the courtier to the one between the father and the son with humane communication. He expressed his mind and emotion he had used to have at the moment of his death: he loved his king just as he loved his father. However, the king, Joongjong, was indifferent at the human's emotion as if he was a senseless figure. That was the saddest frustration and grief he had. However, his grief did not remained just as the mere grief but again survived as the hope for the survivors and descendants with the big echo. In this respect, his gried did not just end as the grief but it can be said that it even revived itself as the strength and courage. Then, Cho Gwang-jo's life as a human being was never a failure. Moreover, his grief and agony did not just remained as the vain emotion and sadness.

A Study Concerning the Background of Formation in Deleuze's System (들뢰즈 체계의 형성 배경에 대한 연구 - 칸트 선험철학 체계 그 심연으로부터의 역류 -)

  • The objective of this paper is to reveal that the formation of Deleuze's system is a result of a back flow of the 'ideal of pure reason' in Kant's system. I will try to seize upon the keyword in his main book, Difference and Repetition, and examine the aspect of mutual transformation between Deleuze's transcendental empiricism and Kant's transcendentalism. When analyzing Deleuze's system, most researchers tend to focus on anti-Hegelianism, but it is proper that Kant be adopted as the start when tracing the way of deployment directly. Fundamentally, Deleuze is different from Hegel in his approach to observing entire ground of thought. Even if Deleuze surely has the capability of becoming in the dialectical context, his systemic environment wherein dialectics is applied is different even at the onset. While Hegel follows the way of origin and copy or a system that begins from a preceding point of origin, Deleuze follows a way of copy and recopy or a system that begins without a point of origin. This characteristic of Deleuze's system originates directly from idealistic play. In fact, we can anticipate and identify in his book that he refers to Kant who accepted the tradition of empiricism. Therefore, the main contents of this paper is to present an overview of Kant's influence on Deleuze's system. While tracing ideas back to Kant's system, the cohabitation of empiricism and rationalism, which Kant felicitously revoiced, there emerges a definitude of world recognition. This occurs through cohabitation, and this is both deconstructed and integrated by Deleuze, and therein definitude is turned into a vision of prosperity. To the vision of prosperity that spans definitude to recognition, a philosopher has the right to select a philosophical system because selection methodology in philosophy is not a problem of legitimacy so much as the needs of the times. Deleuze's choice resulted in the opening of pandora's box in an abyss and secret contents have in turn risen sharply.

  • Enantioselective hydrolysis of racemic styrene oxide by Rhodotorula sp. CL-82 was investigated. Reaction conditions including pH, temperature, and volume ratio of organic cosolvent were optimized using response surface methodology, and the optimal conditions of pH, temperature, and the volume ratio of cosolvent were determined to be 7.64, $33.26^{\circ}C$, and 3.09 %(v/v), respectively. Chiral (S)-phenyl oxirane could be obtained with high enantiomeric purity (ee > 99%) and 20% yield (theoretical yield = 50%) at the optimal rendition.

  • 최근 도시근교 시설재배토양의 염류 과다집적과 연작장해 발생으로 생산성이 저하되고 있다. 그리고 고품질 연중생산이 가능한 양액 재배 면적이 '93년 23ha에서 '97년 414ha로 급속히 증가되고 있는데 이 중 약12%가 담액경이나 박막수경의 순수 수경재배 방식이 차지하고 있다. 순환식 담액수경 상추재배를 기준으로 할 때 농가 300평 재배시 약 100ton의 양액이 소요되며 이 양액은 1회 재배가 끝난 후 상당량이 폐기되고 있고 고형 배지경 양액 재배의 경우에도 대부분 비 순환식 재배로 1회 관수 후 나오는 배액이 그대로 버려지고 이어 토양 및 지하수 등 환경오염, 자원 낭비 등의 여러 가지 문제를 야기시키고 있다.   • 3.3kb 웅성특이 DNA(pEM39 plasmid DNA)가 성 특이 DNA 검색자로 활용되어질 수 있는가를 확인하기 위하여 구조적인 분석을 Southern blotting, DNA sequencing과 computer program 분석을 통하여 실시하였다. 전체 3.3kb에서 유래된 약 1kb 단위의 단편을 이용하여 표지된 짧은 DNA probe들은 Southern blot 분석에서 웅성특이성을 나타내었다. McGraw와 Jeon의 sequence에 대한 유사성 비교 자료로부터 여러 부분의 conserved region을 찾아내고 이것을 기초로 하여 5개의 primer set들을 선발하였다. Conserved region에 존재하면서 computer program에 의해서 선발되어진 PMS1과 2의 primer set가 최종적으로 PCR 분석을 위하여 선정되었다. 이 primer set를 사용한 PCR 분석에서, 1ng부터 10pg까지의 웅성 genomic DNA에서 PCR 산물을 얻을 수 있었으며, 자성의 경우는 어떠한 산물도 찾을 수 없었다. PCR에 이용할 수정란의 시료는 2 세포기의 수정란에서 얻었으며 순수 분리된 genomic DNA에서 확립된 조건에서 PCR을 수행하였다. 8개의 수정란을 분석한 결과 4개의 웅성과 4개의 자성 수정란을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 선정된 primer set가 돼지 수정란의 성을 조기 감별하는데 효율적인 DNA probe로 사용될 수 있다는 것을 암시한다.

Effects of Butanol Isomers on the Mixed Micellization of TTAB/Brij 35 Mixed Surfactant Systems (TTAB/Brij 35 혼합계면활성제의 미셀화에 미치는 부탄올 이성질체들의 효과)

  • critical micelle concentration (CMC) and the counter ion binding constant (B) in a mixed micellar state of the trimethyltetradecylammonium bromide (TTAB) with the polyoxyethylene (23) lauryl ether (Brij 35) at 25oC in water and in aqueous solutions of butanol isomers were determined as a function of 1 (the overall mole fraction of TTAB) by the use of electric conductivity method and surface tensiometer method. Various thermodynamic parameters (Xi, i, Ci, aiM, and Hmix) were calculated by means of the equations derived from the nonideal mixed micellar model. The results say that the effects of butanol isomers on the micellization of TTAB/Brij 35 mixtures have been in the order of n-butanol>iso-butanol>t-butanol> water.

Molecular Separation of Dibromobenzene Isomers by using Selective Guest Inclusion of G2NDS Host Framework (G2NDS 호스트의 선택적 내포 현상을 이용한 Dibromobenzene 이성질체의 분자분리)

  • Using the selective host-guest inclusion of $G_2$[naphthalene disulfonate], the structural isomers of 1,2-dibromobenzene and 1,3-dibromobenzene were separated. As such, 1,3-dibromobenzene was selectively included as guest into the host framework in mixture isomers over 30% fraction of 1,3- dibromobenzene ($X_{1,3-DBB}=0.3$) whereas 1,2-dibromobenzene as guest was selective to the inclusion below $X_{1,3-DBB}=0.3$. This was due to the selectivity of host framework toward the guest molecules playing a role of template to the host framework. From the powder pattern XRD of inclusion compounds crystallized in pure isomer and mixture solutions, the template roles of guest molecules to the host framework were confirmed. Using the DSC, it was found that the more energy was required to release 1,3-dibromobenzene of guest from the host framework than 1,2-dibromobenzene due to the higher thermal stability. The thermal stability of the $G_2NDS$-1,3-dibromobenzene inclusion compound was consistent with the high selectivity of 1,3- dibromobenzene to the host framework in broad range of fraction in the isomer mixture

Pure and Binary Mixture Gases Adsorption Equilibria of Hydrogen/Methane/Ethylene on Activated Carbon (활성탄에서의 H2/CH4/C2H4 순수 기체와 이성분 혼합기체의 흡착평형)

  • Adsorption equilibria of the gases $H_2$, $CH_4$, and $C_2H_4$ and their binary mixtures on activated carbon (Calgon co.) have been measured by static volumetric method in the pressure range of 0 to 18 atm at temperatures of 293.15, 303.15, and 313.15 K. From the parameters obtained from single component adsorption isotherm, multi-component adsorption equilibria could be predicted and compared with experimental data. The binary experimental data were applied to four models : extended Langmuir, extended Langmuir-Freundlich, Ideal Adsorbed Solution theory (IAST), and Vacancy Solution Model (VSM). The models were found to describe the experimental data with a reasonable accuracy. Extended L-F model predicts equilibria of mixture better than any other model.

Immunosuppressive Effects of Herbal Plant Extracts on Alloantigen Reactive Cell Proliferation and Cytotoxicity (일부 한약재의 동종항원에 대한 세포증식 및 살세포반응 억제효과)

  • 본 실험에서는 동양에서 예로부터 민간요법이나 한방에서 주로 많이 쓰여지고 있는 8가지 종류의 한약재에 대해서 면역억제제로써 사용 가능성을 실험하였다. 그 결과, 당귀, 산사, 어성초, 오가피, 황기의 추출물은 동종항원에 반응하는 순수분리 T 세포의 증식을 농도 의존적으로 억제 시켰다. 또한 이들 T 세포의증식에 있어써 필수적인 IL-2를 포함한 cytokine 즉, IL-2, IL-4, IL-10, IFN-${\gamma}$ 의 생산량은 대조군에 비해 실험군에서 유의한 차이가 없었고 특히 T 세포 증식에 필수적인 IL-2의 생산량의 변화가 거의 없었다. 이는 한약재에 의한 T 세포증식에 필수적인 IL-2의 생산량을 억제하기 때문에 일어나는 결과가 아님을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 T 세포의 살세포작용 억제를 직접적으로 측정하기 위하여 세포내 LDH의 양을 조사한 결과 모든 대조군에서 50%이상의 살세포작용 억제가 일어났고, 그 중 특히 오가피와 황기에서는 100% 살세포작용 억제가 일어났다. 따라서 본 실험에서 사용되 당귀, 산사, 어성초, 오가피, 황기 등의 5가기 약재가 부작용 없는 면역억제로써 사용 가능성이 높은 것으로 생각된다.

Effect of Salts and Isomeric Butanols on the Mixed Micellar Properties of Cetylpyridinium Chloride with Triton X-100 (Cetylpyridinium Chloride와 Triton X-100의 혼합 미셀화에 미치는 염 및 부탄올 이성질체들의 효과)

  • The critical micelle concentrations($CMC^*$) of the mixed surfactant systems of cationic surfactant cetylpyridinium chloride(CPC) and nonionic surfactant Triton X-100(TX-100) in aqueous solutions of salts(KCl and $Na_2CO_3$) and isomeric butanols(tert-butanol, iso-butanol and n-butanol) were determined by UV spectroscopy method. The various thermodynamic values in aqueous solutions of salts and isomeric butanols were compared with the values in pure water, calculated by means of the equation derived from the pseudo-phase separation model. Thermodynamic parameters($X_1$, $\beta$, ${\gamma}i$, $ai^M$, $C_i$ and ${\Delta}H_{mix}$) were found to have great effects of salts and isomeric butanols on the mixed micellization of CPC/TX-100 mixtures, and also in good agreements with the nonideal mixed micelle model. They showed all negative deviations from the ideal mixed micellar behavior.
