Development of Human Resource Management Program for Protected Horticulture (시설재배 인력관리 프로그램 개발)

  • This study aimed to develop and verify the smart human resource management (HRM) program in a large scale greenhouse. HRM program delivers detailed work orders to workers and gathers work results by mobile phone application. Greenhouse managers can monitor the workload, work speed, quality of employee by HRM program and can analyse performance easily. Greenhouse Managers can set the work speed including 'twisting', 'trimming' and 'harvesting' in a greenhouse. It makes planning work schedule and assigns resources to each specific job easier. Therefore, the manager can arrange the number of employees to promote work performance and also easy to estimate the labor shortage. Greenhouse managers can evaluate the adequacy of the number of employees through job performance analysis by period and adjusts the supply/demand ratio of regular and non-regular employees. The HRM program can improve work efficiency by announcing the real-time work performance of all employees on a monitor screen to induce competition among workers and re-educate unripe employees who accomplish behind average to improving work skills.

Effects of Postharvest 1-MCP Treatment, Storage Method, and Shelf Temperature on Quality Changes of 'Gamhong' Apples during Export Simulation (수확후 1-MCP 처리, 저장 방법 및 현지 유통온도가 모의수출 '감홍' 사과의 품질에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • Effects of postharvest 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) treatment, controlled atmosphere (CA) storage, and shelf temperature on quality of 'Gamhong' apples were analyzed during export simulation. Fruits were harvested at the optimum maturity for long-term storage, treated with $1{\mu}L{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 1-MCP for 16 hours, and then stored for 6 months under air and CA conditions at $0^{\circ}C$. Poststorage export procedure was performed by applying additional 2-week refrigerated storage and 7-day shelf-life test at 7 and $20^{\circ}C$, which simulated container shipment and local distribution, respectively. After storage and during export simulation, rates of respiration and ethylene evolution were significantly lower in 1-MCP treated and CA-stored apples. For the reduction of respiration, CA storage was more effective than 1-MCP treatment. Soluble solids content was maintained higher in 1-MCP treated apples, while titratable acidity was maintained better both in the 1-MCP treated and CA-stored apples. Effects of 1-MCP treatment and CA storage were highly significant in maintaining flesh firmness and sensory texture ratings. Additive effects from combined application of 1-MCP treatment and CA storage were occasionally observed. Shelf temperature during the local distribution simulation seemed not to significantly influence quality changes only showing limited effects on flesh firmness. Overall results suggest that storage potential of 'Gamhong' apples is shorter than 4 months in control fruit under refrigerated air conditions, whereas the potential can be extended to longer than 6 months by 1-MCP treatment and CA storage. Postharvest program should be provided considering the time of export, i.e. period of storage, and duration of local distribution.

Optimum management of tomato side shoot removal in winter (저온기 토마토 재배시 적정 측지관리방법 구명)

  • This research was conducted to establish recommendable side shoot management methods in the growth and yield of tomato in winter. A cherry tomato, $^{\circ}{\times}Unicorn^{\circ}{\pm}$ (Monsanto Korea, Korea) was cultivated in coconut coir in the form of bag as substrate. There were four treatments related to side shoot removal methods; 1) To remove all side shoots and also each one of three leaves which gives shade to each cluster attached below (UP-FL), 2) To remove all side shoots and also each one of three leaves which gives shade to each cluster only with fruit attached below (UP-FR), 3) To remove all side shoots (AS-All), and 4) To remain two leaves of each side shoot coming from right below each cluster (AS-Part). The number of malformed leaves were more in UP-FL, UP-FR, AS-All, and AS-Part in descending order, which showed the severe the removal of leaves the more the malformed leaves. The malformed leaves were diminished after the development stage the second or third cluster bloomed. The yields until fifth cluster were not different among the treatments. Therefore removal of side shoots and leaves recommends not to be done severely in early growth stage when tomato plants are cultivated in winter.

A Postharvest Control Technique of the Oriental Fruit Moth, Grapholita molesta, Infesting Apples Using CATTS (CATTS를 이용한 복숭아순나방 사과 수확 후 방제 기술)

  • Postharvest insect pest control is necessary for agricultural industry including domestic consumer markets and exporting products to meet quarantine issue. Especially, the organic or environmentally friendly agricultural products do not fit to the traditional chemical postharvest treatments mostly using methyl bromide. As an alternative, a physical treatment called CATTS (controlled atmosphere and temperature treatment) has been developed to control various insect and mite pests on apple and several stone fruits. This study was designed to determine the CATTS conditions to control the oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta, which is restricted in exporting the infested apples. To apply CATTS on this insect pest, the most heat-tolerant stage was determined. Among the immature stages locating on the fruits, the fifth instar larvae were the most tolerant to $44^{\circ}C$ for 20 min. The ramping rate (the time to increase chamber temperature from $25^{\circ}C$ to $46^{\circ}C$) was positively correlated with the CATTS efficiency under 15% $CO_2$ and 1% $O_2$. After the ramping step, the duration of CATTS was positively correlated with CATTS efficiency. In addition, the CATTS efficiency was highly dependent on the fruit internal temperature at $44^{\circ}C$. From all these parameters, we developed a standard protocol yielding 100% control efficiency of CATTS against apples infested by 4,378 larvae including 2,104 fifth instar individuals.

Influence of Harvest Time, Drying Period and Threshing Force on Mechanical Damage and Germinability of Rye Grains (호밀의 수확시기, 건조일수 및 탈곡기 회전속도가 탈곡종실의 손상립률과 발아율에 미치는 영향)

  • This trial was carried out to set up a proper drum speed of thresher to minimize the mechanical damage from threshing and thereby to obtain rye seeds possessing higher qualities for seeds. Rye plants were harvested at from 40 to 60 days after heading (DAH) with 5 days intervals and spread out on the field for 0, I, 2, 3 days for drying, respectively. After drying the plants were subjected to threshing at seven steps of drum speed from 400 to 1000 rotation per minute (RPM) of a thresher, drum diam. 18.6cm, teeth length 6cm. At 500 to 600 RPM and from the plants harvested at 55DAH with drying for one or two days, the seeds possessed low grain damage, high germinability over 90%, and field emergence rate over 80%.

원산지별 순무 동치미의 품질 특성 비교

  • 중국, 유럽, 한국산 순무를 국내에서 파종.수확한 후 동치미를 담그어 발효 특성을 비교해 보고 김치 제조에 알맞은 품종을 알아보고자 하였다. 신선한 순무의 특성으로 중국산 순무는 가용성 고형물 함량, 경도 및 파쇄성이 가장 높았다. 한국산 순무는 안토시아닌 함량이가장 많았다. 원산지별 순무로 담근 동치미를 $0^{\circ}C$에서 70일까지 경시적으로 이화학적, 관능적 특성을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 중국산 순무 동치미는 숙성 전 기간동안 산도, 가용성 고형물 함량, 탁도, 유산균수가 유럽산에 비하여 높아 발효속도가 가장 컸으며, 한국산 순무 동치미는 중간의 발효 속도를 나타내었다. 이같은 특성은 관능 검사 결과에서도 유사한 경향을 보여주었다. 안토시아닌 함량 및 적색도 a값은 한국산 순무 동치미가 가장 높았고 중국산 순무 동치미가 가장 낮았다. 조직감중 경도는 기계적 분석 결과와 관능 검사 결과 모두에서 한국산 순무 동치미와 중국산 순무 동치미가 숙성전 기간동안 높게 유지되었고 유럽산 순무 동치미는 낮았다. 그러나 전반적인 기호도는 숙성적기인 숙성 40 일에 한국산 순무 동치미가 6.7 점으로 가장 높았고, 그 다음이 중국산 동치미로 5.9 점이었고, 유럽산 동치미는 3.5 점으로 가장 낮았는데, 이 같은 경향은 숙성 전 기간 동안 유사한 경향을 나타내었다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과로부터 맛있는 동치미 제조를 위한 순무는 강화도 고유의 자색순무에 중국산 청색 순무가 지닌 높은 당도와 단단한 조직감을 나타내는 특성을 지닌 품종이 적합하다고 생각된다.

Physical Properties of Jujube(Zizyphus jujuba Miller) and Jujube Branches (대추 및 대추가지의 물리적 특성)

  • 본 연구는 대추 수확기개발을 위한 기초연구로써 대추의 열매, 잎, 잎줄기의 물리적 역학적 특성을 조사.분석하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. .대추 열매의 평균 장경, 경, 부피, 무게, 탈과력은 각각 32.02 mm, 23.9 mm, 10.0$\times$$10^{-6}$m$^3$, 5.2~12.8g, 5.7 N으로 나타났다. .대추무게가 증가하면 탈과력은 증가하고, F/W는 감소하는 경향을 나타났다. .대추나무가지의 평균 탄성계수는 7.01$\times$$10^{8}$ N/m$^2$였고, 가지의 굵기가 증가하면서 감소하였다. .대추나무가지의 평균 비틀림 강성은 5.2$\times$$10^{7}$ N/m$^2$으로 나타났으며, 가지의 굵기가 증가하면서 음의 지수 함수적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으나, 데이터가 일정한 범위에 산재해 있어 가지의 굵기에 따른 강성계수변화 특성은 일정한 경향으로는 나타나지 않았다. .대추 잎줄기의 평균 무게, 잎수, 길이가 각각 0.7g, 6.6개, 12.2 cm로 나타났다. .대추 잎의 평균 잎면적, 무게, 탈리력은 각각 13 $cm^2$, 0.2g, 4.4 N으로 나타났다. .종말속도는 대추 열매의 무게가 증가하면서 증가하고, 대추잎의 무게, 면적이 증가할수록 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으며, 잎줄기의 종말속도는 잎줄기 무게 혹은 잎줄기에 매달린 잎의 수와는 거의 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 잎줄기의 길이가 증가할수록 약간씩 증가하는 경향을 나타냈다.

Evaluation of the Fruit Quality Indices during Maturation and Ripening and the Influence of Short-term Temperature Management on Shelf-life during Simulated Exportation in 'Changjo' Pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai) (배 신품종 '창조'의 성숙 중 품질 요인 변화 및 수송온도 환경에 따른 반응성)

  • In this study, we evaluated the changes of fruit quality indices during fruit development and ripening in Korean new pear cultivar 'Changjo', developed from a cross between 'Tama' and '81-1-27' ('Danbae' ${\times}$ 'Okusankichi') in 1995 and named in 2009, to determine appropriate harvest time and to enhance the market quality and broaden the cultivation area. The fruits of 'Changjo' pears harvested from 132 days after full bloom (DAFB) to 160 DAFB. Fruit growth and quality indices were monitored at 1 week interval by measuring fruit weight, length, diameter, firmness, and taste related quality indices. The calculated fruit fresh weight increased continuously with fruit development and reached to an average of 594g on Sep. 20 (160 DAFB). The ratio of length to diameter declines as fruit maturation progress, resulting in 0.898 for ripe fruit stage as a round oblate shape. Flesh firmness of 'Changjo' pears showed over 30N until 153 DAFB and then decreased abruptly with fruit ripening, reaching a final level of about 26.44N on 160 DAFB. Starch content of fruit sap was also decreased abruptly after 146 DAFB which decreased almost half of the fruits harvested at 139 DAFB. In parallel with the decrease of flesh firmness, ethanol insoluble solids (EIS) content decreased sharply with fruit ripens, only 50% of EIS was detected on the fruits harvested on 160 DAFB when compared to that of the fruits harvested on 139 DAFB (Aug. 30). The maximum value of soluble solids contents was observed in the fruits harvested on 153 DAFB, resulting in $14.2^{\circ}Brix$. The changes of skin color difference $a^*$ which means loss of green color occurred only after 139 DAFB, coincide with the decrease of SPAD value of the fruit skin. The sugars of the 80% ethanol soluble fraction consisted mainly of fructose, sorbitol, glucose and sucrose, also increased during maturation and ripening. Fructose and sucrose contents were larger than those of glucose and sorbitol in flesh tissues. These results were explained that stored starch is converted to soluble sugars during fruit maturation, mainly in fructose and sucrose increasing the sweetness of this cultivar. Total polyphenols were increased up to middle of fruit maturation (146 DAFB) and then decreased continuously until the end of fruit maturation. Consequently, our results suggested that the commercial harvest time of 'Changjo' pears should not be passed 153 DAFB and late harvest of this cultivar would not good for quality maintenance during shelf-life. As a result of the post-harvest low-temperature acclimation experiment during the short-term transportation period, fruits harvested at 146 DAFB tended to maintain higher firmness after 14 days of simulated marketing at $25^{\circ}C$ compared to fruits harvested at 153 DAFB regardless of temperature set. And, the slower the rate of decrease to the final transport temperature of $5^{\circ}C$, the higher the incidence of internal browning and ethylene production. Therefore, in order to suppress the physiological disorder and to maintain the fruit quality when exporting to Southeast Asia in the 'Chanjo' pears, it is desirable to lower the temperature of the fruits within a short time after harvest and to set the harvest time before 146 days after full bloom.

방사선 조사 건고사리의 습열조리 중 연화속도

  • 방사선에 의한 식품 저장은 이미 그 건전성과 경제적 타당성이 인정되어 세계 여러나라에서 실용화되고 있다. 고사리(Pteridium aquilinum)는 참고사리과에 속하는 다년생 양치식물로서 봄철에 어린잎과 줄기를 삶아 물에 담구었다가 건조시켜 저장하였다가 이용하고 있다. 현재 유통되고 있는 건고사리는 수확, 건조 및 저장 중에 비위생적인 관리 등에 의해 미생물의 증식 및 해충의 발생 등으로 품질이 크게 저하되어 저장상 많은 어려움을 안고 있다. 선행연구에서 방사선 조사된 건고사리는 불림시 연화현상이 나타났으므로, 본 실험에서는 Co-60감마선을 건고사리에 조사하여 습열조리 조건에 따른 연화 특성을 분석하였다. 즉, 건고사리에 조사선량을 0, 3, 5, 7kGy로 달리 하여 조사하였고 조리온도, 조리 시간에 따른 연화정도 및 연화에 따른 활성화 에너지를 분석하였다. 결과 조사선량이 높을 수록 경도는 대조구에 비해 유의적으로 감소하였는데 조리온도, 시간 및 조사선량이 증가할수록 감소하였다. 활성화에너지는 조사선량이 증가함에 따라 감소하여 건고사리의 가열 조리시 에너지가 감소 됨 이 확인되었다.

Development of a Process for Manufacturing the Best Quality Red Ginseng (최고급 품질의 홍삼제조공정 개발)

  • 장 등(2001)에 의해 개발된 보급형 홍삼제조용 건조기를 이용하여 최고급 품질의 천지삼(H&EG)등급 홍삼의 수율을 15%이상으로 향상시킬 수 있는 공정 개발을 위한 실험을 수행한 결과, 1차 건조시 최적의 상대습도 조건은 60-70%인 것으로 나타났고, 초음파 속도 330-360m/s를 가지는 원료수삼이 홍삼으로 제조된 후 천지삼 수율이 높았으며 내공과 내백도 적게 나타났다. 한편 저장기간별로 우수 홍삼의 제조결과를 보면 최고급 품질의 홍삼제조를 위해서는 수확 후 3일 이내에 제조작업을 수행하는 것이 적절할 것으로 판단되었다. 한편 본 연구에서 개발된 최고급품질의 홍삼제조공정의 천지삼 수율측정을 위해 실험을 수행한 결과 천지삼의 평균수율이 18.8%나타났다. 이 결과를 통계분석한 결과에 의하면, 95%의 신뢰를 가지는 수율구간은 14.1%-23.7%로 나타났다. 또한 상기 결과를 비모수 X$^2$검증한 결과 모집단을 대표할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 본 연구과제에 의해 개발된 최고급 품질의 홍삼제조공정기술은 성공적으로 개발된 것으로 판단되었다.
