  • The accuracy of input coordinates of ground control points and check points affects great influences to the results of ground coordinate computation in using SPOT digital image data. The original SPOT images displayed on CRT are not usually adequate for identifying the object features and determining the point positioning. Hence, appropriate image processing techniques such as contrast enhancement, subpixel interpolation, edge enhancement, and spatial filtering are needed. In this study, the principles of digital image processing needed for accurate three dimensional positioning and spectral characteristic analysis are investigated. The algorithms for the actual applications are developed and programmed. And using the developed image processing software, some SPOT P-mode and XS-mode images are merged into the SPOT P+XS, the high-resolution color composite image.

  • The study about quantitative or qualitative analysis of object using digital image is being progressed actively with the development of the image medium and image process technique. But, it is very high that the dependency about image acquisition system of high resolution for image analysis of high accuracy and it is a equipment of high-price. In this study, I extracted the optimum condition of image enhancement by analyzing and enhancing the multiple images which were acquired by system of low-price. And I carried out the analysis of 3D accuracy by being applied the optimum condition of image enhancement. In the result of analysis of average 3D positioning error using law image and enhanced image which is acquired by applying the optimum condition of image enhancement, I could obtain the progressed accuracy about 10% on the enhanced image.

  • Digital Elevation Model (DEM) generation from remotely sensed imagery is crucial for a variety of mapping applications such as ortho-photo generation, city modeling. High resolution imaging satellites such as SPOT-5, IKONOS, QUICK-BIRD, ORBVIEW constitute an excellent source for efficient and economic generation of DEM data. However, prerequisite knowledge in the areas of sensor modeling, epipolar resampling, and image matching is required to generate DEM from these high resolution satellite imagery. From the above requirements, epipolar resampling emerges as the most important factors. Research attempts in this area are still in high demand and short supply. Another cause that adds to the complication of the problem is that most studies of DEM generation from IKONOS scenes have been based on rational function model. In this paper, we proposed a new methodology for DEM generation from satellite scenes using parallel projection model which is sensor independent, makes it possible for sensor modeling and epipolar resampling by only few control points. The performance and feasibility of the developed methodology is evaluated through real dataset captured by IKONOS.

  • The objective of the study is to extract information about the road surfaces to be studied by analyzing asphalt concrete-paved road surface images photographed with a digital video camera. To analyze the accuracy of road surface information gained using a digital imagery processing method, it was compared and analyzed with the outcomes of control surveying. As a result, an average error of 0.0427 m in the X-axis direction, that of 0.0527 m in the Y-axis direction, and that of 0.1539 m in the Z-axis direction were found, good enough for mapping at a scale of 1:1,000 or less and GIS data. Besides, information on road surface assessment factors such as crack ratio, the amount of rutting and profile index was gained by analyzing processed digital imagery. This information made it possible to conduct road surface assessment by generating PSI and MCI. As quality digital image information has been gathered from roads and stored, important fundamental data on PMS (Pavement Management System) will become available in the future.

  • In this study, 3D positioning of CCT digital imagery was done by using a personal computer image processing method to increase the economic and time efficiency of SPOT satellite imagery. Image matching technique which applies statistical theories, was applied to acqusition of satellite imagery. The reliability of these coordinates was anlysed to presente a new algorithm for three dimensional positioning necessary in digital elevation modelling and orthophoto production. In acquiring image coordinates from CCT digital satellite imagery, accuracy of planimetric and height coordinates was improved by applying the image matching technique and it was found through analysis of correlation factors between sizes of target window that 19$\times$19 pixels was the most suitable size for image coordinate acquisition. From these results, it was able to present an algorithm about utility of digital imagery in the analysis of SPOT satellite data.

그 적용분야 역시 크게 증가하여 사회 전반에 응용되고 있으며 앞으로 GPS(Global Positioning System), GIS(Geographic Information System) 및 RS(Remote Sensing)와 연계되어 발전 및 응용의 잠재력이 클 것으로 예상된다.

  • In this paper, the acquisition of digital imagery and the orthoimage generation were performed to set up working process. And another purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the accuracy of orthoimage by overlapping digital topographic map and digital cadastral map on it. The digital topographic map and digital cadastral map were superimposed on the orthoimage to check the accuracy as another approach of evaluation. The RMSE is ${\pm}0.364m$ in X direction and ${\pm}0.413m$ in Y direction with digital topographical maps(1/5,000). And the RMSE is ${\pm}1.283m$ in X direction and ${\pm}1.085m$ in Y direction with digital cadastral map. It is necessary for the application of a newly developed digital aerial camera to make an exact synchronization between GPS/IMU data and image data, use a technology for setting a standard image resolution and the number of ground control points.

  • Digital photogrammetry is growing today using inexpensive personal confuter and digital image Processing technique instead of expensive analytical plotter in data acquisition from aerial photograph. Ortho photo in replacement of paper map is indispensable in the application of Geo-Spatial Information System and research activities about it are active in the domestic domain. Also the availability of ortho photo is greatly various in existing related fields using topographic map and expected to be used for new technology in near future. For this purpose, design of each module for ortho photo has been carried out with digital map and image. It was shown that the batch program for ortho photo generation developed in this study, could be used effectively as an effective data acquisition method for GSIS.
