Delamination Evaluation of Thermal Barrier Coating on Turbine Blade owing to Isothermal Degradation Using Ultrasonic C-scan Image (초음파 C-scan을 이용한 터빈 블레이드 열차폐코팅의 등온열화에 의한 박리 평가 기법)

  • Thermal barrier coating (TBC) is an essential element consisting of a super-alloy base and ceramic coating designed to achieve long operational time under a high temperature and pressure environment. However, the top coat of TBC can be delaminated at certain temperatures with long operation time. As the delamination of TBC is directly related to the blade damage, the coupling status of the TBC should be assured for reliable operation. Conventional studies of nondestructive evaluation have been made for detecting generation of thermally grown oxide (TGO) or qualitatively evaluating delamination in TBC. In this study, the ultrasonic C-scan method was developed to obtain the damage map inside TBC by estimating the delamination in a quantitative way. All specimens were isothermally degraded at $1,100^{\circ}C$ with different time, having different partial delamination area. To detect partial delamination in TBC, the C-scan was performed by a single transducer using pulse-echo method with normal incidence. Partial delamination coefficients of 1 mm to 6 mm were derived by the proportion of the surface reflection signal and flaw signal which were theoretical signals using Rogers-Van Buren and Kim's equations. Using the partial delamination coefficients, the partial delamination maps were obtained. Regardless of the partial delamination coefficient, partial delamination area was increased when degradation time was increased in TBC. In addition, a decrease in partial delamination area in each TBC specimen was observed when the partial delamination coefficient was increased. From the portion of the partial delamination maps, the criterion for delamination was derived.

Microclimate in Rice Nursery Bed Covered with Various Materials (벼 보온못자리 피복재질에 따른 상내 미기상 특성)

  • To recommend adequate covering materials and shapes of rice nursery bed for mechanical transplanting rice seedling, measuring of microclimate inside the rice nursery protected by polyethylene tunnel type, polyester tunnel type, and polyester flat type was compared to that outside the nursery. The vapor pressure deficit inside the polyester tunnel and polyethylene tunnel was higher than that outside the tunnel during daytime on a sunny day. During daytime on cloudy with rain day, the vapor pressure deficit inside polyester tunnel was higher than that in polyethylene tunnel or outside the nursery tunnel. The heat fluxes in the rice nursery tunnel during daytime flowed more to the soil than to the outside tunnel. Amounts of soil heat fluxes in polyethylene tunnel were higher than in polyester flat and polyester tunnel. The vertical profile of air temperature inside the nursery tunnel came to inversion during daytime and was lapse during nighttime regardless weather condition. The maximum temperature inside the nursery tunnel were 47.2$^{\circ}C$ in polyethylene tunnel and 37.$0^{\circ}C$ in polyester tunnel which was 21.1$^{\circ}C$ and 10.9$^{\circ}C$ higher than outside the tunnels respectively on sunny day. On cloudy with rain day, the temperature inside nursery tunnel was higher 8.4$^{\circ}C$ and 4.$0^{\circ}C$ polyethylene and polyester tunnel respectively then outside. Daily temperature changes became larger in the polyethylene tunnel, polyester tunnel, and outside the nursery tunnel in order. The rice seedling growth in polyester tunnel was better than the other nursery beds.

균열 암반 대수층 활용 지하수 인공 함양 주입 예비 평가

  • 균열 암반 대수층에 대한 지하수 인공 함양 주입 가능성을 예비적으로 평가하기 위한 시험을 수행하였다. 지하수 인공 함양 주입 시험이 수행된 지역은 경기도 포천군 이동면이며, 이 지역의 지질은 중립내지 조립질 화강암에 해당된다. 시험 정호에 대한 시추공 내부 촬영 결과, 화강암 내에 부분적으로 절리들이 발달되어 있었으며, 대체로 수직적인 절리 발달이 우세하였다. 2개소에서 인공 함양 주입 시험이 100kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 이상의 확장 팩커로 대상공의 상부를 밀폐한 후 시행되었다. 이중 MW-7호 공에서는, 주입 압력을 5 내지 7kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$으로 조절하여 시간당 약 450$\ell$의 평균 주입률로 시험을 수행하였으며, O-7a 호 공에서는 주입 압력을 4kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 내외, 시간당 약 1,740$\ell$의 평균 주입률로 시험을 수행하였다. MW-7호 공의 시험은 3일간 3회에 걸쳐 각 450분, 200분, 414분 동안 시험이 수행되었으며, O-7a호 공에서는 연속적으로 24시간 동안 인공 함양 주입 시험이 수행되었다. 수행된 지하수 인공 함양 주입시험은 적어도 지하수 상류 구배 구간의 지하 수두를 시험이 수행된 이후에도 24시간 이상 유지하는 것으로 평가되었다. 실험을 통해 주입한 양과 주변 관측공의 수위 상승을 단순 검토한 결과 시험이 수행된 지역의 개략적 유효 공극률을 산정 할 수 있었으며, 그 결과, 이 지역 균열 암반의 유효 공극률은 약 3 내지 6% 인 것으로 평가되었다 국내에서 지하수 인공 함양 방식을 균열 암반 대수층에 활용하여, 지속적인 수자원 관리와 수도 공급을 할 수 있는지를 평가하기 위해서는 앞으로 보다 많은 시험수행과 연구를 통한 검증이 요구된다. 까마중, 냉이, 명아주, 둑새풀 등의 생장에 현저한 조해현상을 나타냈다. 이것으로 보아 억새가 타식물의 생장에 영향을 주는 요인물질은 억새의 뿌리에서 분필되는 것으로 생각된다. 옥수수의 뿌리에서 직접 분필하는 물질이나 옥수수뿌리의 분해물질들은 모두 당귀의 생장을 조해하는 경향이 있었다.기존에 제안된 경험식들에 의한 계산결과 보다 균질화 해석법의 결과가 훨씬 정확함을 주목하여야 한다.c의 범위로서 최대값과 최소값은 4차수(four order)의 차이를 보였다. 단열대의 분포 특성을 파악하기 위하여 지구물리검층을 실시하였고, 각 시험에 의해 획득된 결과들과의 비교를 통하여 유동성이 높은 단열들이 규명되었다. 온도검층은 유동성 단열과 일반적인 단열들을 구별하는 좋은 지시자로 나타났다. 그 결과, N70-80$^{\circ}$W.60-85$^{\circ}$NE/SW, N75-80$^{\circ}$W.25-30$^{\circ}$SW, N50-64$^{\circ}$W.60-85$^{\circ}$NE, N35-45$^{\circ}$E.65-75$^{\circ}$SE, 그리고 N65-72$^{\circ}$E.80$^{\circ}$SE/60$^{\circ}$NW의 단열들이 연구지역의 지하수 흐름을 지배하는 뚜렷한 유동성 단열로 규명되었다.eatments.   • Sum of daily mean temperature, sum of daily mean relative humidity and sum of daily mean duration of sunshine during the growing season (March-October), and daily mean temperature, daily mean relative humidity and daily mean minimum temperature during the dormant season (November-February) were obtained respectively from the climactic data recorded at 26 different standard stations for 30 years from 1951 to 1980, to provide a method for proper selection of tree species suitable to a certain site. They were also marked on the map of Korea. The whole country was divided into 6 regions by trend of temperature variation and the regression equations for each region were produced to estimate the sum of daily mean temperature of the growing season and the sum of daily mean minimum temperature of the dormant season in a certain site where tree plantings are planned. The natural range of distribution of each species was expressed by the sum of daily mean temperature and daily mean minimum temperature on the basis of "Horizontal and vertical distribution of the Korean woody plants" reported by Chung and Lee (1965).

Soil Evaporation Evaluation Using Soil Moisture Measurements at a Hillslope on a Mountainous Forest (산림 사면에서 실측 토양수분을 이용한 토양증발평가)

  • In order to understand the hydrological processes on the mountainous forest, the configuration of soil evaporation (E) out of evapotranspiration (ET) is a challenging and important topic. In this study, we attempted to understand the soil evaporation process for a humid forest hillslope via measuring and analyzing soil moistures with a sampling interval in 2 hours at three locations for 10 days between May 22th and 31th 2009. Two methods were used to estimate soil evaporation in every 2hr; one is a method using soil moisture measurement ($E_{SM}$), the others methods are based on Penman equation (Penman (1948), Staple (1974), Konukcu (2007), Equilibrium Penman ($E_{equili}$)). As a critical parameter in determining $E_{SM}$, the dry surface layer (DSL), was estimated using energy balance equation. The accumulated soil evaporation ($E_{SM}$) of A, B, C points were estimated as 2.09, 1.08 and 2.88 mm, respectively. The estimated evaporation of Penman (1948), Staple (1974), Konukcu (2007), $E_{equili}$ were 4.91, 8.80, 8.63 and 3.28 mm. The proposed method with soil moisture measurement showed lower soil evaporations than the other conventional methods. The increasing soil temperature and interaction between soil and atmosphere due to existence of litter and DSL are considered as dominant factors for soil evaporation. The $E_{SM}$ has the apparent lag time between 2 and 4 hr compared with $E_{equili}$ and net radiation. The DSL and surface resistance ($r_s$) were increased as soil moisture was decreased for in this study. The estimated DSL through the temporal distribution analysis of soil moisture and tension measurements was also similar to that of the energy balance relationship.

Structural and optical properties of Si nanowires grown with island-catalyzed Au-Si by rapid thermal chemical vapor deposition(RTCVD) (Au-Si을 촉매로 급속화학기상증착법으로 성장한 Si 나노선의 구조 및 광학적 특성 연구)

  • We have demonstrated structural evolution and optical properties of the Si-NWs on Si (111) substrates with synthesized nanoscale Au-Si islands by rapid thermal chemical vapor deposition(RTCVD). Au nano-islands (10-50nm in diameter) were employed as a liquid-droplet catalysis to grow Si-NWs via vapor-liquid-solid mechanism. Si-NWs were grown by a mixture gas of $SiH_4\;and\;H_2$ at pressures of $0.1{\sim}1.0$Torr and temperatures of $450{\sim}650^{\circ}C$. SEM measurements showed the formation of Si-NWs well-aligned vertically for Si (111) surfaces. The resulting NWs are 30-100nm in diameter and $0.4{\sim}12um$ in length depending on growth conditions. HR-TEM measurements indicated that Si-NWs are single crystals convered with about 3nm thick layers of amorphous oxide. In addition, optical properties of NWs were investigated by micro-Raman spectroscopy. The downshift and asymmetric broadening of the Si optical phonon peak with a shoulder at $480cm^{-1}$ were observed in Raman spectra of Si-NWs.

The Growth of $MgO:LiNbO_3$ Single Crystal by Czochralski Method and its Density Measurement (Czochralski법에 의한 $MgO:LiNbO_3$단결정 성장과 밀도 측정)

  • Single crystals of LiNbO3 have found extensive application in electro-optic and nonlinear optic devices. However, laser-induced refartive index inhomogeneities, which have been labeled opical damage impose limits on device optical damage in LiNbO3 is imporved if more than 4.5 rml% MgO is added to the melt The laser damage thrueshold increased as much as 100 times better then that of undoped crystals. The MgO doped cystal has thus been urterlsiv81y studied since then. In the study, Mgo:LiNbOs(MLA) single crystals dopsd with 0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, 10.0 mol% MgO have been grown by the czocrualski technique. The metls were prepared in the platinum crluible and 15∼20mm diameter crystals were grown with a length of 20∼30mm in a resitance heater. The growth rate was 2.5mm/hr, the rotation speed 15rpn. Before sawing MLN single crystals were annealed for 24 hours under atmosphere at a temperature of 1080℃. After sawing, we have found an annual ring cross section of MNA crystals only in the direction of perpendicilar to the c-axis. Nonuniform dispusion of MgO was pointed out that the cuties of the state of oxide were strongly affected by oxygen partial pressure in.

  • )를 금속와이어에 인가하면 저항발열에 의해 와이어가 미세한 입자나 금속증기상태로 폭발하는 현상을 이용한 것으로 기상합성법에 속한다고 할 수 있다. 선폭법은 다른 제조법에 비해 공정이 간단하여 생산비용이 저렴하며, 원재료의 조성을 갖는 분말의 합성과 금속간화합물, 융점차이가 나는 재료의 합금화 등이 가능하다. 인가에너지의 크기와 폭발 시 분위기를 제어함으로써 분말의 평균크기와 분포 제어 또한 가능하다. 본 연구는 러시아의 우수한 기초기술을 바탕으로 Pb-Sn계 합금은 전기폭발법으로 극미세분말을 제조하였으며, 분말의 형상, 상 화학조성의 변화를 조사하였다. 본 실험에 사용된 Sn-Pb계(All-Union State Standard 1499-70, 0.53mm)합금와이어는 자동시스템(1-0.6Hz)에 의해 챔버안으로 공급되었다. 이 때 임계폭발 와이어 길이는 50-80nm으로 실험을 행하였다. 챔버 압력은 1.4~2.0atm으로 유지하였다. 제조된 분말의 특성은 XRD, XRPES, SEM등을 이용하여 분말의 형상과 상, 화학조성, 표면분석을 행하였으며 DSC, TGA, BET분석을 통하여 온도변화에 따른 금속분말의 열량변화, 질량변화, 비표면적을 측정하였다. 제조된 Sn-Pb계 분말은 모두 평균 입도 117nm~220nm의 구형형상이었다. 이때 합금분말의 조성은 51.17~63.21 at%Sn, 35.47~46.37 at%Pb로 나타났다. 와이어에 인가되는 비에너지(W/Wc)가 감소된에 EK라 표면층의 Pb함량이 증가함을 보였다. 이는 와이어 내부 저항의 감소로 인한 공정시간의 지연과 Sn, Pb의 확산계수 차이에 의한 것으로 사료된다. 열분석 결과, Sn~Pb계 화합물의 융점은 167~$169^{\circ}C$로 관찰되었으며, $10^{\circ}C$/min로 $920^{\circ}C$까지 승은 하였을 때 17.1~18 wt%의 질량증가를 보였다.TEX>계 나노복합분말이 얻어짐을 알 수 있었다. 이 때 X션 회절피크의 line broadening으로부터 복합분말의 Fe 명균 결정립 크기는 24nm로 초미세 결정럽의 분말합금이었다. 포화자화값은 볼밀처리에 따라 점점 증가하여 MA 30시간에는 20.3emu/g로 포화됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 보자력 Hc는 MA초기단계에 350e로 매우 낮으나 30시간 후에는 Hc값이 2600e로 매우 큰 값을 나타내었다. 이것은 환원반응결과 초기에 생성된 Fe의 결정립이 비교적 크고 결정결함이 적으나 볼밀처리를 30시간까지 행하면 Fe 결정렵의 미세화 빛 strain 증가로 magnetic hardening이 일어나기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.길이가 50, 30cm인 압출재를 제조하였다. 열간압출한 후의 미세조직을 광학현미경으로 압출방향에 평행한 방향과 수직방향으로 관찰하였고, 열간 압출재 이방성을 검토하기 위하여 X선 회절분석을 실실하여 결정방위를 확인하였다. 전기 비저항 및 Seebeck 계수 측정을 위하여 각각 2$\times$2$\times$10$mm^3$ 그리고 5$\times$5$\times$10TEX>$mm^3$ 크기의 시편을 준비하였다.준비하였다.전류를 구성하는 주요 입자의 에너지 영역(75~l13keV)에서 가장 높은(0.80) 상관계수를 기록했다. 넷째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰 자기폭풍일수록 현저했다. 주상에서 관측된 이러한 특성은 서브스톰 확장기 활동이 자기폭풍의 발달과 밀접한 관계가 있음을 시사한다.se that were all low in two aspects, named "the Nonsignificant group". Grain-Based Distinct Element Modeling of Thermoshearing of Rock Fracture: DECOVALEX-2023 Task G (입자기반 개별요소모델을 이용한 암석 균열의 Thermoshearing 거동 해석: 국제공동연구 DECOVALEX-2023 Task G)

  • In the present study, we proposed a numerical method for simulating thermally induced fracture slip using a grain-based distinct element model (GBDEM). As a part of DECOVALEX-2023, the thermo-mechanical loading test on a saw-cut rock fracture conducted at the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology was simulated. In the numerical model, the rock sample including a saw-cut fracture was represented as a group of random Voronoi polyhedra. Then, the coupled thermo-mechanical behavior of grains and their interfaces was calculated using 3DEC. The key concerns focused on the temperature evolution, thermally induced principal stress increment, and fracture normal and shear displacements under thermo-mechanical loading. The comparisons between laboratory experimental results and the numerical results revealed that the numerical model reasonably captured the heat transfer and heat loss characteristics of the rock specimen, the horizontal stress increment due to constrained displacement, and the progressive shear failure of the fracture. However, the onset of the fracture slip and the magnitudes of stress increment and fracture displacement showed discrepancies between the numerical and experimental results. We expect the numerical model to be enhanced by continuing collaboration and interaction with other research teams of DECOVALEX-2023 Task G and validated in further study.

  • Bathymetric data collected using a multi-beam echo sounder during marine scientific survey is essential for geologic and oceanographic research works. Accurate measurment of sound velocity profile(SVP) in water-column is important for bathymetric data processing. SVP can vary at different locations during the survey undertaken for wide areas. In addition, an observational error can occur when different equipments(Sound Velocity Profiler, Conductivity Temperature Depth, eXpendable BathyThermograph) are used for measuring SVP at the same water column. In this study, we used an MB-system software to show changes in bathymetry caused by variation of SVP. The analyses showed that the sound velocity(SV) changes due to the depth and thickness of thermocline had more significant effects on the resulting bathymetric data than those of surface mixed layer. The observational errors between SVP measuring instruments did not cause much differneces in the processed bathymetric data. Bathymetric survey line is better to be established to the direction that the change of temperature can be minimize to reduce the variation of SVP during the data acquisition along the survey line.
