  • We investigated the implicit representations of success/failure associated with mother in male and female college students. In study 1, participants were presented 'mother' or 'basket' as a context prime and 'success' or 'failure' related words as second primes for 100ms, and were asked to make lexical decisions about 'accept' or 'reject' related words and non-words after 150 ms (SOA 250ms). Results revealed that lexical decision times on the mother condition were more rapid than the ones on the basket condition, and lexical decision times on the acceptance condition were more rapid than the ones on the rejection condition, and female participants showed shorter times than male students did. In study 2, we divided participants into four groups by gender and attachment style, Results showed that the interaction between success/failure and acceptance/rejection was statistically significant, that is, quickest lexical decision times on the success-acceptance condition, and slowed times on failure-acceptance, failure-rejection, and success-rejection condition in order. On the other hand, no significant differences between high and low attachment group were found in males, but significant three-way interactions were found in females. In highly attached females, lexical decision times in success-acceptance condition were not differed from ones in success-rejection condition, and slowed times in failure-rejection condition. Low attached females showed very rapid times in success-acceptance condition, but very slow times in success-rejection condition. The results were discussed in terms of self-positivity and success/failure scheme depending on gender and attachment styles.

  • This study aims to reveal whether attachment relationship with parents can differ from children being accepted and rejected in peer relations, and whether children's rejection sensitivity can differ from children having secure and insecure attachment relationship with parents. Subjects were 218 students in fifth and sixth grade of primary school. Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment(IPPA), Children's Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire(CRSQ), and peer relation sociometrics were used as measurements. The results showed that children in secure attachment with parents had lower scores on the subscales of CRSQ, such as anxiety, anger, belief, and psychological reaction, than children in insure attachment relationship with parents. And IPPA scores were higher in children being accepted in peer relation than children being rejected. These results can be considered that early attachment relationship with parents may influence children's rejection sensitivity and peer relation.

  • This study examined that the effects of fathers-in-law's and mothers-in law's acceptance-rejection on husbands' and wives' psychological well-being using APIM. Participants were 265 couples living Seoul KyungKi-do and JeJu Island, and their mean age was 39.16 (husbands, SD=7.39) and 36.45 (wives, SD=7.36), respectively. The results of APIM showed that, in father-in law model, actor effects of husbands (the influence of fathers in law acceptance-rejection for husbands on husbands' psychological well-being) were more significant than actor effects of wives (the influence of fathers-in-law's acceptance-rejection for wives on wives' psychological well-being), while partner effects of wives (the influence of fathers in law acceptance-rejection for wives on husbands' psychological well-being) more significant than partner effects of husbands (the influence of fathers' in law's acceptance-rejection for husbands on wives' psychological well-being). In mother-in law model, there were no significant differences both between actor effects of wives and actor effects of husbands, and between partner effects of wives and partner effects of husbands.

  • With the evocative interests in food safety, food traceability has been spotlighted by researchers as well as consumers. However, food traceability systems are not yet in reality even though there are continuous needs from market. Also, studies about food traceability focus on technical aspects without considering the spectrum of the adoption. In this study, we chose ginseng whose traceability systems are not easily adopted. Innovation-resistance model is employed to find out factors affecting either adoption, resistance or both. As results, we find out the followings. First, relative benefits and reasonableness of cost do not affect adoption and resistance of innovation. Second, there is difference between continuously resisting group and adoption-postponing group.
