An Optimal Intermodal-Transport Algorithm using Dynamic Programming (동적 프로그래밍을 이용한 최적복합운송 알고리즘)

  • Because of rapid expansion of third party logistics, fierce competition in the transportation industry, and the diversification and globalization of transportation channels, an effective transportation planning by means of multimodal transport is badly needed. Accordingly, this study aims to suggest an optimal transport algorithm for the multimodal transport in the international logistics. As a solution for this problem, first of all, we have applied a pruning algorithm to simplify it, suggesting a heuristic algorithm for constrained shortest path problem to find out a feasible area with an effective time range, which has been applied to the Label Setting Algorithm, consequently leading to multiple Pareto optimal solutions. Also, in order to test the efficiency of the algorithm for constrained shortest path problem, this paper has applied it to the actual transportation path from Busan port of Korea to Rotterdam port of Netherlands.

Experimental Study on the Dissociation Characteristics of Methane Hydrate Pellet by Hot Water Injection (열수 주입법에 의한 메탄가스 하이드레이트 펠릿의 해리 특성에 관한 실험 연구)

  • Gas-to-Solid (GTS) technology is composed of three stages: hydrate production, transportation, and regasification. For efficient operation of regasification plants, it is crucial to predict the temperature and flow rate of hot water necessary to dissociate the hydrate pellets. Dissociated gas escaping from the pellet surface, when in contact with hot water, will alter the flow field and consequently alter the heat transfer rate. Methane hydrate pellet dissociation characteristics in low- to moderatetemperature water were investigated by taking images of the changes in the hydrate pellets' shapes in a pressurized reactor and measuring the total time required for complete melting of the pellets. The effects of water temperature, hydrate conversion rate, and flow speed on the dissociation completion time were also investigated. Bubbling gas released from the pellet surface induced a secondary flow that enhanced the heat transfer rate and thus decreased the dissociation time. It was also found that a considerable flow rate was needed to significantly decrease the dissociation time.

  • In this paper, as a follow-up PRT studies of "J. Lee & K. Kim[2]", in terms of public transportation systems, economic feasibility of PRT systems was investigated. Based on previous studies, PRT demand was estimated and the required number of PRT vehicles has been calculated and the benefit was estimated. To ensure the economic feasibility, construction cost of a PRT system should be the level of 8 billion won per km, and the annual operating costs of the PRT system construction should be approximately 4.63% level. As a result, how much to reduce PRT construction costs, depending on whether decisions are considered to be economically feasible. Thus, PRT technology development will be conducted by targeting the most lightweight and by minimizing the infrastructure and vehicles of PRT.

These nation according to great circle navigation is contiguous geographically in order to confront Pacific Ocean. Specially Korea will become the hub-port of Northeast Asia and South America, which is caused by direct logistics lines's establishment.

  • This paper proposes the ITMS(Intelligent Transport Monitoring System) which manages the route and state of freight by using the Meteorological Office, the Transportation Management Center, GPS and Sensors, etc. The ITMS consists of the CIMS(Container Inner Monitoring System) transmitting the inner temperature and humidity of a container, the TMM(Transport Management Module) computing an estimated time of arrival with Freight Vehicle location information and transmits the result to the CIMS, the FMM(Freight Management Module) checking and managing the freight freshness by using the temperature and humidity of the collected containers, and the SMM(Stevedoring Management Module) selecting the container loading and unloading places with the information transmitted from the CIMS, the TMM, and the FMM and attaching the freight formation to containers using an RFID label. The ITMS not only checks the freight condition at intervals but also acquires and manages the freight information with RFID labels rapidly and accurately.

  • During the sporulation stage in Saccharomyces cerevisiae J170, the incorporation of D$^{14}$ C-glucose into starved cells of sporulation stage as well as the vegetative one is appeared higher at pH 6.0. Glucose transport system, in both the vegetative and sporulation stage, is associated with "energy dependent" as the result of repression by such a respiratory inhibitor as 2,4-dinitrophenol. The Km value of glucose uptake in vegetative stage and sporulation stage was 2.1 mM and 2.5 mM respectively, indicating that the glucose is considerably reuqired for vegetative growth. Competition and countertranspoer of glucose by frutose and galactose are more distinct in vegetative stage, comparing with sporulation stage. The main sugar components of yeast cells consists of ribose, mannose, and .apha., .betha.-glucose. Amounts of mannose is lower in the aporulation stage than that in the vegetative stage.ive stage.

Characteristics of [$^{18}F$]fluorodeoxyglucose Uptake in Human Colon Cancer Cells (사람 대장암 세포주의 [$^{18}F$fluorodeoxyglucose 섭취의 특징)

  • Cancer tissues are characterized by increased glucose uptake. $^{18}F$-fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG), a glucose analogue is used for the diagnosis of cancer in PET studies. This study was aimed to compare the glucose uptake and glucose transporter 1(GLUT1) expression in various human colon cancer cells. We measured FDG uptake by cell retention study and expression of GLUT1 using Western blotting. Human colon cancer cells, SNU-C2A, SNU-C4 and SNU-C5, were used. The cells were incubated with $1{\mu}Ci/ml$ of FDG in HEPES-buffered saline for one hour. The FDG uptake of SNU-C2A, SNU-C4 and SNU-C5 were $16.8{\pm}1.36,\;12.3{\pm}5.55$ and $61.0{\pm}2.17cpm/{\mu}g$ of protein, respectively. Dose-response and time-course studies represent that FDG uptake of cancer cells were dose dependent and time dependent. The rate of FDG uptake of SNU-C2A, SNU-C4 and SNU-C5 were $0.29{\pm}0.03,\;0.21{\pm}0.09$ and $1.07{\pm}0.07cpm/min/{\mu}g$ of protein, respectively. Western blot analysis showed that the GLUT1 expression of SNU-C5 was significantly higher than those of SNU-C2A and SNU-C4. These results represent that FDG uptake into human colon cancer cells are different from each other. In addition, FDG uptake and expression of GLUT1 are closely related in human colon cancer cells.

Early Changes after Death of Plaice, Paralichthys olivaceus Muscle -4. Effect of Killing Methods on Rigor Index and Breaking Strength of Muscle- (넙치(Paralichthys olivaceus)육의 사후 조기 변화 -4. 치사 방법이 육의 사후 경직도와 파괴 강도에 미치는 영향-)

  • This study was undertaken to clarify the effect of killing methods on physical and rheological changes of plaice, Paralichthys olivaceus muscle at early period after death. Plaices killed by the four different methods(1. spiking at the brain instantly. 2. drowning in air. 3. dipping in 1,000ppm ethylaminobenzoate dissolved sea water as an anesthetic. 4. electrifying in sea water.) were stored at $5^{\circ}C$, and the rigor-index and breaking strength through storage were monitored. The longest onset time of rigor-mortis and full rigor was in the samples killed by dipping in sea water with dissolved anesthetic among all samples, where rigor-mortis began at 20hrs after killing and maximum tension was attained after 56hrs. However, in the cases of plaice electrified in sea water or drowned in air, the onset of rigor-mortis began just after killing and maximum tensions were attained after 9hrs and 13hrs, respectively. The level of breaking strength in the muscle of fish killed by spiking the brain instantly was $950.30{\pm}50.23g$, immediately after killing. The value and time reached around the maximum breaking strength for each of the samples were $1,230.60{\pm}30.32g$ and Ohr (immediately after killing) for samples killed by electrifying in sea water, $1,235.83{\pm}35.37g$ and 2.5hrs for drowning samples, $1,186.29{\pm}55.90g$ and 10hrs for spiking samples, and $1,189.67{\pm}50.32g$ and 15hrs for samples dipped in anesthetic, respectively. From the results above, it could be concluded that electrification in sea water is the most effective method in accelerating rigor-mortis and shortening times of reaching the maximum breaking strength of fresh plaice flesh of all the killing methods at early periods after death, whereas dipping in sea water treated with anesthetic was the most effective way in delaying those changes.

  • This paper propose an efficient algorithm for selecting electric bus charging facility location. In nature, the optimal charging facility location problem is similar to Set Covering Problem. Set Covering Problem is the problem of covering all the rows of an $m{\times}n$ matrix of ones and zeros by a subset of columns with a minimal cost. It has many practical applications of modeling of real world problems. The Set Covering Problem has been proven to be NP-Complete. In order to overcome the computational complexity involved in seeking optimal solutions, this paper present an enhanced greedy algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm. In this paper, we apply the developed algorithm to Seoul's public bus system.

Influence of Benzocaine as an Anaesthetic for the Grading of Tilapia (Tilapia 선발을 위한 Benzocaine의 영향)

  • Anaethetics are needed for handling fish, especially for transportation, tagging and grading. Among them, MS-222 has been popular in aquaculture since it has an excellent anaesthetic effect. However, MS-222 is more expensive than other chemicals. Benzocaine (Ethyl-p-aminobenzoate) has a similar molecular formula and equivalent anaesthetic effect to MS-222, and is cheaper. The purpose of this study was first to compare anaesthetic effects (Benzocaine) under various conditions : temperature, concentration, pH and body weight. Second purpose was to compare actual anaesthetic effects at 50 ppm benzocaine at ambient temperature and pH for the grading of tilapia. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The effect of anaesthesia at $24^{\circ}C$ was better with low pH, that is 5.6 than high pH 6.6 and 7.6. 2. The anaesthetic effect was not different at different body weight form 11g to 1,350g. 3. The fish were anaesthetized in 4~10 minutes at 50 ppm benzocaine at temperature. $20{\sim}24^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.8~7.3 and recovered in 4~6 minutes when they were put back in the fresh water after 30 minutes anaesthesia. 4. Benzocaine was more sensitive at pH fluctuation than temperature. 5. Twenty four hour-TLm of Benzocaine was 50 ppm at $24^{\circ}C$, pH 6.8 when the fish were put back in the fresh water after 120 minutes.
