Experimental Investigation on the Enhancement of Methane Hydrate Formation in the Solid Transportation of Natural Gas (천연가스 고체화 수송을 위한 메탄 하이드레이트 충진율 증대에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Fossil fuels have been depleted gradually and new energy resource which can solve this shortage is needed now. Methane hydrate, non-polluting new energy resource, satisfies this requirement and considered the precious resource prevent the global warming. Fortunately, there are abundant resources of methane hydrate distribute in the earth widely, so developing the techniques that can use these gases effectively is fully valuable. the work presented here is to develop the skill which can transport and store methane hydrate. As a first step, the equilibrium point experiment has been carried out by increasing temperatures in the cell at fixed pressures. The influence of gas consumption rates under variable degree of subcooling, stirring and water injection has been investigated formation to find out kinetic characteristics of the hydrate. The results of present investigation show that the enhancements of the hydrate formation in terms of the gas/water ratio are closely related to operational pressure, temperature, degrees of subcooling, stirring rate, and water injection.

  • In an estuary, mixing and transport of contaminant sometimes occurs in the salt finger favorable condition (Hwang ang Rehmann, 2004). Linearized theory is applied to predict flow dynamics in salt finger favorable condition. The simulated results match well with previous laboratory experiments. When the density ratio is larger than 2, the heat and salt system shows $0.55{\sim}0.57$ as Turner (1967) found, and the salt and sugar system produces 0.87 of Griffiths (1980). As the ratio of molecular diffusivities of two scalars increases, the flux ratio increases. The flux and eddy diffusivity ratios decrease with increase of density ratio, and it takes longer time for flux ratio to be steady state at the higher density ratios.

  • An experiment was conducted to determine the reaction of boric acid with lime and the drying of its product using a reactor-dryer. no characteristics of dried products were observed. The major chemical species of dried Products was calcium borate of 2CaO.B$_2$O$_3$. From the particle size distribution of the dried products, it was found that quick lime was better than slaked lime as an additive. The Ca/B mole ratio of reaction was determined to be 3/4 considering the cohesion and agglomeration properties of dried products. The flowability of dried products up to 8 wt% of water content was acceptable for transport process and to reduce drying time.

A Study on the Improvement of the Electron Transport Properties in $SF_{6+}Ar$ Mixtures Gas ($SF_{6+}Ar$혼합기체의 전자수송특성 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the electron swarm parameters in the 0.5% and 0.2% SF\ulcorner+Ar mixtures are measured by time of flight method over the E/N(Td) range from 30 to 300(Td). The measurements have been carried out by the double shutter drift tube with variable drift distance from the cathod. A two-term approximation of the boltzmann equation analysis and Monte Carlo simulation have been also used to study electron transport coefficients. We have calculated W, $ND_L,\;ND_T,\;\alpha,\;\eta,\;\alpha-\eta$, and the limiting breakdown electric field to gas mixtures ratio in pure $SF_6$+Ar mixtures. The electron energy distribution function has been analysed in $SF_6$+Ar mixtures at E/N : 200(Td) for a case of the equilibrium region in the mean electron energy. The measured results and the calculated results have been compared each other.

  • Rail-road intermodal freight transport is a transoortation system that rail and road transport are utilized between origins and destinations. The roles of road(truck) in rail-road intermodal freight transport are pick-up and delivery that are keys parts of total transportation process. The objective of this study is to develop and evaluate the pick-up and delivery strategies for container trucks in order to increase their productivity. Two different strategies are developed : One is aimed for minimizing the total traveling distance of container and the other is to reduce the waiting time at client site. The comparative studies are performed on the actual network of Paris metropolitan. The simulation analysis shows that the proposed strategies are quite efficient in various performance measures.

  • This paper studies the method of delivering munitions using both drones and UGVs that are developing along with the 4th Industrial Revolution. While drones are more mobile than UGVs, their loading capacity is small, and UGVs have relatively less mobility than drones, but their loading capacity is better. Therefore, by simultaneously operating these two delivery means, each other's shortcomings may be compensated. In addition, on actual battlefields, time constraints are an important factor in delivering munitions. Therefore, assuming an actual battlefield environment with a time limit, we establish delivery routes that minimize delivery time by operating both drones and UGVs with different capacities and speeds. If the delivery is not completed within the time limit, penalties are imposed. We devised the hybrid genetic algorithm to find solutions to the proposed model, and as results of the experiment, we showed the algorithm we presented solved the actual size problems in a short time.

  • Radar is a ground defense system that detects enemy aircraft and receives power from a mobile power supply in an emergency. Serious problems may occur if the equipment is damaged by impact during transportation for use. The US military standard MIL-STD-810H contains information on environmental tests such as shock and vibration applied to munitions. Therefore, in this study, the transient analysis of ANSYS 19.2 was performed using the impact data specified in MIL-STD-810H as an input value. Through this, the maximum stress generated in the impact environment of the mobile power supply container was derived, and the safety margin was calculated to confirm the reliability of the container.

  • Baengnyeongdo, located within the Asian dust stream, is an ideal place to analyze Asian dust moving into the West Sea due to its low emission of artificial pollutants. Baengnyeongdo is being used to analyze the vertical distribution of dust from the lower atmosphere to the upper layer through remote observation. This study compared the ground concentration of dust between Baengnyeongdo and the metropolitan area, estimated the lag time of transport of Asian dust from Baengnyeongdo to the metropolitan area, and examined the homogeneity of upper winds using the rawinsonde method. The results showed that the cross correlation coefficient was higher and the lag time was shorter for each observation station when the distance from Baengnyeongdo was shorter. The upper wind at Baengnyeongdo is dominated by the west/northwest wind. It is the basis for the correlation of dust concentration between Baengnyeongdo and the metropolitan area located to the east. In the future, upper wind data and Asian dust concentration data over the West Sea and Baengnyeongdo are expected to contribute to research related to the movement and prediction of Asian dust and preparation for Asian dust in the metropolitan area.

  • Mulberry fruit is common to keep a frozen storage because of the very high water content. Because freezing-storing cost is generated before the processing or sales, farmers of mulberry fruit production are weighted in financial burden. In addition, mulberry fruit has difficulty in expanding consumption by made in the simple processed products like the mulberry jam, mulberry juice, mulberry enzyme, alcohol, etc. Recent, frozen fruits including frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, frozen mango, frozen rich, frozen mulberry fruit has been started to sell in the large discount stores and convenience stores. However, there is restricted sales in only special place that have the frozen distribution facilities. So, for the income improvement and consumption promotion of mulberry farmers facing these difficult situations, we developed the processing method of semi-dried mulberry fruit using the vacuum freezing dryer. The frozen mulberry fruit which was stored below $-40^{\circ}C$ is to dry in a vacuum freeze dryer, at $30{\sim}35^{\circ}C$, 23 ~ 24 hours. Semi-dried mulberry fruit seperated respectively. It had soft texture, and maintained shape, size and flavor. In particular, semi-dried mulberry fruit can be stored at room temperature.

Effect of Steroid Hormones on Expression and Localization of Aquaporin-4, -5 and -8 Genes in Mouse Uterine Endometrium (스테로이드 호르몬이 생쥐 자궁내막에서 Aquaporin-4, -5와 -8 유전자의 발현과 존재부위에 미치는 영향)

  • 연구 목적: 난소에서 분비되는 스테로이드 호르몬인 에스트로젠과 프로게스테론은 포유동물의 생식기관 발달과 정상적인 생식 기능, 수정과 배아의 착상에 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히 에스트로젠은 자궁내액을 내강으로 분비하여 자궁부종 기작에 중요한 역할을 한다. 자궁내액은 정자의 수정능력 획득과 착상전 배아의 발달에 매우 중요하다. Aquaporin (AQP)은 막관통 물수송 단백질로서 여러 조직에 넓게 분포되어 있으며, 세포간 또는 상피세포간 물의 이동에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 생쥐 자궁에서 스테로이드 호르몬에 의해 조절되는 자궁내액의 이동에 AQP 유전자가 관여하는지를 알아보았다. 연구 재료 및 방법: 난소 절제술을 시행한 생쥐에 스테로이드 호르몬을 피하주사하고 6, 12, 24시간 간격으로 자궁조직을 적출하였다. 대조군은 sesame oil만을 주사한 후 6시간째에 수획한 자궁조직을 사용하였으며, 실험군은 시간대별과 스테로이드 처리별로 채취한 자궁조직에서 역전사중합효소반응을 수행하였다. 역전사중합효소반응을 통해 막관통 단백질인 AQP-4, -5, -8 mRNA의 발현양상을 살펴보았다. 또한 mRNA의 위치를 살펴보기 위해 laser microdissection을 이용하여 RT-PCR을 수행하였다. 마지막으로 자궁조직내에서의 단백질 발현 부위를 관찰하기 위해 면역조직화학염색을 실시하였다. 결 과: AQP-4, -5, -8 mRNA은 프로게스테론을 처리한 군보다 에스트로젠을 처리한 군에서 많이 발현되었으며, 에스트로젠을 주사한 지 6시간째 발현정도를 대조군과 비교할 때 AQP-4, -5, -8 mRNA가 각각 7.9배, 2.8배, 3.8배로 나타났다. AQP-4, -5, -8 mRNA는 간충조직보다 자궁내 상피조직에서 스테로이드 호르몬의 영향을 받아 발현양상의 차이가 나타났으며, 주로 에스트로젠의 영향을 받아 발현이 증가하였다. AQP-4 단백질은 에스트로젠을 24시간 처리한 후 프로게스테론을 처리한 군의 자궁내 상피조직에서 많이 발현되었으며, AQP-5와 -8 단백질은 에스트로젠을 처리한 군의 자궁내 상피조직에서 발현이 증가하였다. 결 론: 이상의 결과를 통해 AQP-4, -5, -8은 주로 에스트로젠에 의해 자궁내 상피세포에서 발현이 증가되는 것으로 보아 에스트로젠의 영향하에 일어나는 자궁내액의 이동으로 인한 자궁부종기작에 이동통로로서 관여하는 것으로 사료된다.
