  • In the recent, as a world demand of energy resources has been transformed from fossil fuels to hydrogen-based clean energy resources, a huge attention has been attracted to increase the performance and decrease a production cost of core materials in fuel cell technology. The utilization of reinforced composite membranes as electrolytes in the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells can reduce the use of high cost perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA), mitigate the cell impedance, and improve the dimensional stability as well as the interfacial stability, giving rise to achieve both an improved performance and a reduction of production costs of the fuel cell devices. In this study, we investigate the effects of physical characteristics and cell performances according to the various ionomer solvents in the solution based manufacturing process of reinforced composite electrolyte membrane.

  • NMHC (non-methane hydrocarbons)는 $C_2$- $C_{l2}$의 탄화수소로 구성되며 NOx와 함께 오존을 생성시킨다. NMHC에 카보닐 화합물과, 카본수가 증가하여 휘발성이 떨어지더라도 광화학 반응성이 있는 탄화수소가 추가되면 우리에게 보다 익숙한 VOC (volatile organic compounds)가 된다 (Watson et al., 2001). NMHC는 자동차, 가스 및 석유 정제시설, 주유소, 세탁공업, 산업공정 등으로부터 배출된다. 안전현장스케치 - 화학사고 대응의 최전선 '구미119 화학구조센터'

  • 2년 전인 지난 2012년 9월 27일 경북 구미4공단에 소재한 휴브글로벌에서 불화수소가 누출되는 사고가 발생했다. 이 사고로 근로자 5명이 사망하고 23명이 부상을 당했다. 사고 후 불화수소가 공기를 통해 대량 퍼지면서 인근 지역도 막대한 피해를 입었다. 사고는 안전관리측면에서 많은 허점을 드러냈다. 사업장은 물론 관할 소방서, 구미시 모두에서 화학사고에 대한 대응 매뉴얼과 협조체계가 제대로 구축되지 않아 피해의 확산을 막지 못했다. 너무나 허술한 화학사고 대응체계의 현실에 구미시민은 물론 전 국민이 분노했다. 이에 정부는 화학물질관리 및 사고대응 시스템 전면에 대한 대대적인 개선에 돌입했다. 그리고 그 결과물이 지난해 12월 초 모습을 드러냈다. 관계부처, 지자체, 소방당국, 안전보건공단까지 한데 모여 효과적인 화학사고 예방과 대응을 전담하는 화학재난 합동방재센터가 전국에서 처음으로 구미에 문을 연 것이다. 그로부터 반년이 흐른 지금 구미에는 어떤 변화가 생겼을까. 달라진 화학재난 안전관리체계를 확인해보고자 구미119화학구조센터를 찾아가봤다.

  • In preparation of NBD dimer, one of the industrially useful multicyclic hydrocarbon compound, various catalyst, solvent and byproducts were included in reaction product at the end of dimerization reaction. In order to increase the yield of NBD dimer mixture, first of all, effective separation process development was required. The research for improvement of NBD dimer yield were performed by use of eco-friendly and recyclable separation solvent.

  • In this paper, an experimental study was conducted on the performance of the cooling tower. In order to improve reliability in the cooling tower performance test, the measurement uncertainty of the instrument was estimated. Measurement uncertainty refers to the uncertainty of a measurement, estimates the range in which the expected value of the measurement can be within a certain confidence level, and suggests a range in which the measured representative value is incorrect. Therefore, the measurement result of the performance experiment is not an actual value, but a reasonable estimated value. The measurement uncertainty for the test was calculated and the measured results were presented.

  • In this study, we proposed the necessity of reusing the battery industry after domestic use, preparing legal arrangements by step for recycling, clarifying responsible materials by processing stage, and establishing infrastructure and screening diagnostic rating system. The purpose of this study is to establish a life cycle integrated management system for electric vehicle batteries and to find suitable ways for improving the lifespan of electric vehicle batteries, reuse, and recycling in stages to avoid other environmental pollution problems due to batteries after using electric vehicles used to reduce environmental pollution due to climate change.

  • In this paper, an experimental study was conducted on the energy efficiency ratio of performance for air source heat pump.   • 도금에 따른 공업용수의 사용량이 단순히 PCB의 세척만을 위한 세척수 투입으로 인하여 도금 전 과정의 처리 비용에 비하여 과도하게 사용됨에 따라 도금에 소모되는 실제 비용보다는 오히려 공업 용수의 사용량과 같은 부가 비용으로 산업현장에 많은 부담이 되고 있다. 따라서 제조 산업의 경제적 비용 부담은 기하급수적으로 증가하고 결국 생산 단가의 상승으로 이어진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도금 공정에서 사용되는 세척 작업시 산.알카리에 따른 수소 이은 농도(H+)와 수산이온농도(OH+)를 제어 하기위한 방법으로 각종 제어기법을 이용하여 최적의 제어기를 설계하고자 하였으며, 이 결과는 세척수를 효율적으로 투입하여 귀중한 수자원을 절약함은 물론 생산 단가를 낮추어 경쟁력에 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

Trend on Development of Polymeric Organosilicone Surfactants (고분자 유기실리콘 계면활성제의 개발 동향)

  • Silicone-based surfactants consist of a hydrophobic organosilicone group coupled to one or more hydrophilic polar groups, while the hydrophobic groups of hydrocarbon surfactants are hydrocarbons. Silicone surfactants have been widely used in many industrial fields starting from polyurethane foam to construction materials, cosmetics, paints & inks, agrochemicals, etc., because of their low surface tension, lubricity, spreading, water repellency and thermal and chemical stability. A wide range of silicone surfactant structures are required to provide the functional diversity for reflecting the necessities in the various applications. This review covers the basic properties and the synthetic schemes of polydimethylsiloxane and reactive polysiloxanes as hydrophobic siloxane backbones, the main reaction schemes, such as hydrosilylation reaction, for coupling reactive polysiloxanes to hydrophilic groups, and the synthetic schemes of the main polysiloxane surfactants including polyether-, ionic-, carbohydrate-type surfactants.

Effect of Oxidation-reduction Pretreatment for the Hydrogenation of Caster Oil over Ni/SiO2 Catalyst (산화-환원 전처리에 따른 Ni/SiO2 촉매의 캐스터오일 수소화)

  • Castor oil can be used as a useful raw material for chemical industries such as intermediates of surfactants through hydrogenation reaction. In this study, effects of the preparation method and pretreatment condition on the nickel catalyst for the hydrogenation of castor oil were investigated. The nickel catalyst was supported on the silica carrier by the precipitation method with different Ni contents, solution pH values, and precipitants. Repeated pretreatments of oxidation and reduction cycles were then carried out. The activity of the nickel catalyst was measured by comparing the iodine value of the castor oil. The dispersion of nickel on the catalyst was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), $N_2$ adsorption-desorption, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The activity of nickel catalyst was also compared by CO oxidation experiments. The redispersion of nickel occurred on the silica by repeated oxidation and reduction cycles, and this effect contributed to promoting the castor oil hydrogenation activity.
