Fabrication of Al2O3/Fe-Ni Nanocomposites by Atmosphere-controlled Sintering and their Properties (소결분위기 제어에 의한 Al2O3/Fe-Ni 나노복합재료의 제조 및 특성)

  • To investigate an effect of sintering atmosphere on microstructure and properties of metallic particle dispersed ceramic based composites, the powder mixtures of $Al_2O_3$/Fe-Ni, synthesized by chemical solution process, were hot-pressed under different atmospheres such as hydrogen or argon gas and different sintering temperature. Hot-pressed composite in a hydrogen atmosphere exhibited less reaction phase of $FeAl_2O_4$ and enhanced mechanical properties than that in an argon atmosphere. Furthermore, decreasing hot-pressing temperature produced a refinement of ceramic matrix and metallic dispersion particles as well as improvement of mechanical properties. The change of mechanical properties in the composites with different sintering conditions was explained by microstructural characteristics relating to reaction phase formation.

Synthesis of Titanium Hydride Powder Via Magnesiothermic Reduction of TiCl4 in H2 gas Atmosphere (수소분위기 내 사염화타이타늄의 마그네슘 열환원을 이용한 수소화타이타늄 분말 합성)

  • A novel method for the synthesis of titanium hydride powder from titanium tetrachloride via the magnesiothermic reduction in an hydrogen gas atmosphere was investigated. To examine the influence of temperature on the formation of titanium hydride, the reduction was conducted at 1023~1123 K under 1 atm of hydrogen gas atmosphere for approximately 30 min. Subsequently, the titanium hydride powder was sintered by maintaining the temperature for 0~120 min, and the decrease in the oxygen concentration of the powder was investigated. The experimental results showed that TiH1.924 was produced at 1023 K, whereas mixtures of TiH1.924 and TiH1.5 were produced at 1073 K and 1123 K. In addition, the hydrogen concentration in the powder decreased with increasing temperature. The concentration of oxygen in the powder decreased with increasing temperature and sintering time owing to the decrease in the specific surface area of the powder. The minimum concentration of oxygen was 0.246 mass% when the mixture of TiH1.924 and TiH1.5 was obtained at 1073 K and a sintering time of 120 min.

Hydrogen Embrittlement of TRIP Steel Charged with Hydrogen Under Two Type Electrolytes (2종 전해질 분위기하 수소주입된 TRIP 강의 수소취성)

  • The hydrogen was charged TRIP steel by electrochemical method under 0.5M $H_2SO_4$ electrolyte and 0.5M NaOH electrolyte with hydrogen charging conditions respectively. The degree of hydrogen embrittlement of TRIP steel was evaluated by using micro Vickers hardness tests. These results showed that the degree of hydrogen embrittlement in acidic electrolyte with hydrogen penetration and hydrogen diffusion through the depth of specimen was more sensitive than its alkaine electrolyte between two type electrolytes. However, it was investigated that micro Vickers hardnesses of surface in acidic electrolyte under two electrolyte were higher than those of alkaine electrolyte. It was thought that in case of hydrogen embrittlement in acid-ice electrolyte, hydrogen charging time was more effective than current density, in case of alkaine electrolyte, hydrogen current density was more effective than charaging time.

Preparation of tetragonal phase L10 FePt thin films with H2 annealing atmosphere (수소 분위기 중 열처리법을 이용한 고자기이방성 L10 FePt 박막 제작)

  • Fe thin films exhibited (100) preferential orientation when they were deposited at low deposition rate of $0.1{\AA}/s$ on glass substrates by using facing target sputtering system. The (100) oriented Fe layer induces (100) orientation of Pt layer deposited on it owing to hetero-epitaxial growth. After annealing at $600^{\circ}C$ in $H_2$ atmosphere, FePt films exhibited f.c.t. (001) texture in the whole film caused by inter-diffusion between atoms. We have also confirmed that the homogeneously inter-diffused compositional modulation in the film after the annealing process. Furthermore, annealing process in $Ar+H_2$ atmosphere at $400^{\circ}C$ during Pt deposition was effective for attaining Pt (100) texture. The annealing process during Pt deposition also induced in low annealing temperature and decreased annealing time for attaining the FePt f.c.t. (001) structure.

Effect of hydrogenation surface modification on dispersion and nucleation density of nanodiamond seed particle (수소화 표면 개질이 나노다이아몬드 seed 입자의 분산 및 핵형성 밀도에 미치는 영향)

  • Two hydrogenation surface modifications, namely hydrogen atmosphere heat treatment and hydrogen plasma treatment, were found to lead to improved dispersion of nanodiamond (ND) seed particles and enhanced nucleation density for deposition of smooth ultrananocrystalline diamond (UNCD) film. After hydrogenation, the C-O and O-H surface functionalities on the surface of nanodiamond particles were converted to the C-H surface functionalities, and the Zeta potential was increased. As the degree of dispersion was improved, the size of nanodiamond aggregates decreased significantly and nucleation density increased dramatically. After hydrogen heat treatment at 600℃, average size of ND particles was greatly reduced from 3.5 ㎛ to 34.5 nm and a very high nucleation of ~3.9 × 1011 nuclei/㎠ was obtained for the seeded Si surface.

수소 이온 조사와 후 열처리 공정에 따른 InGaZnO 박막 트랜지스터의 소자 특성과 반도체 박막 특성 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 a-IGZO 활성층에 다른 dose량의 수소 이온을 조사하여 박막 트랜지스터 소자의 효과를 알아보고, 수소 이온 조사 후, 이온 조사에 따른 불안정한 소자 특성을 안정화시킬 목적으로 후 열처리에 따른 소자 특성을 알아보았다. a-IGZO 활성층에 수소이온을 110keV의 에너지로 가속하여, 수소 이온 조사량을 $1{\times}10^{14}\;ion/cm^2$, $1{\times}10^{15}\;ion/cm^2$, $1{\times}10^{16}\;ion/cm^2$로 조절하였고, 후 열처리 공정은 a-IGZO 활성층에 $1{\times}10^{16}\;ion/cm^2$ 이온조사 후, 대기 분위기로 $150^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$, $350^{\circ}C$ 각각 1시간 동안 열처리를 진행하였다. Spectroscopy Ellipsometry (SE)로 측정된 3eV이상의 광학적 밴드 갭은 기존에 보고 되었던 비정질 산화물 반도체와도 유사한 밴드 갭을 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. IGZO 박막을 활성층으로 사용하여 수소 이온 조사 공정 후 제작한 박막 트랜지스터는 3.89 $cm^2/Vs$의 전계효과이동도와 0.59V/decade의 문턱전압 이하 기울기를 보았다. 수소 이온 조사 공정을 통한 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터의 output curve가 다소 불안정함을 보였으나, $1{\times}10^{16}\;ion/cm^2$ 이온조사 후, 대기 분위기로 $150^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$, $350^{\circ}C$ 각각 1시간동안 열처리를 진행한 박막 트랜지스터의 특성은 소자의 불안정성을 보완해줄뿐만 아니라 $350^{\circ}C$ 열처리에서는 16.9 $cm^2/Vs$의 전계효과이동도와 0.33V/decade의 문턱전압 이하 기울기와 같이 더 향상된 박막 트랜지스터의 전기적 특성 결과를 관측하였다. 기존의 연구 되어진 a-IGZO 활성층에 수소이온조사와 후 열처리 공정에 따라 광학적 밴드 갭 에너지 준위의 변화와 박막 및 박막 트랜지스터 특성을 변화시킨다는 결과를 도출하였다.

A Study of Hydrogen Embrittlement on a Material of CNG Storage Tank (CNG 저장용기 재료의 수소취성에 관한 연구)

  • A set of test was conducted on a SA-372 steel for CNG storage tank to study the effect of hydrogen embrittlement. Tensile tests were carried out several conditions such as CNG, HCNG and H2 gas environment including air and Ar under the 35 MPa. Also, the test speed was set at 4*10^-4/s and 4*10^-5/s respectively. To maintain the high pressure for environmental gas during test process, we chose MTS which was installed autoclave. Test results showed that tensile stress, elongation rate and cross sectional contraction under Ar and CNG charging condition were similar to that of reference of air. And there was little bit change with test speed variations. However, hydrogen added conditions such as HCNG and H2 were revealed noticeable change in elongation rate and cross sectional contraction. Tensile stress was still uniform for all conditions. From the results, the effect of hydrogen embrittlement was confirmed on the hydrogen enriched conditions. Also its effect was showed more strong with much hydrogen concentration and slower test speed.

대기압 플라즈마를 이용한 ZnO 박막 형성 연구

  • DC Arc Plasmatron을 이용하여 대기압에서 ZnO 박막을 형성하였다. Zinc acetyl acetonate, diethylzinc, zinc power들을 precursor로 사용하여 박막을 형성하였다. 100 nm/min에 달하는 박막 형성 속도가 관측되었다. 기판의 온도와 압력, 플라즈마트론의 파워 등에 따라 박막은 amorphous와 poly-crystal 상을 나타내었다. XRD, SEM, XPS 등을 이용하여 박막의 특성을 조사하였고, 박막의 전기전도도를 증가시키기 위하여 수소분위기에서의 annealing 효과를 조사하였다.

  • The Because of its high thermal efficiency, the direct injection (DI) diesel engine has emerged as a promising potential candidate in the field of transportation. However, the amount of nitrogen oxides ($NO_x$) increases in the local high-temperature regions and that of particulate matter (PM) increases in the diffusion flame region during diesel combustion. In the de-$NO_x$ system the Lean $NO_x$ Trap (LNT) catalyst is used, which absorbs $NO_x$ under lean exhaust gas conditions and releases it in rich conditions. This technology can provide a high $NO_x$-conversion efficiency, but the right amount of reducing agent should be supplied to the catalytic converter at the right time. In this research, the emission characteristics of a diesel engine equipped with a micro-reformer that acts as a reductants-supplying equipment were investigated using an LNT system, and the effects of the exhaust-gas temperature were also studied.
