Numerical Analysis of Flow Field and Performance of Water Jet Pump (수분사 펌프의 유동 및 성능 해석)

  • The three-dimensional numerical study of a water jet pump was carried out to investigate the relationship between performance and the geometric variables of nozzle space, area ratio, and throat length. Because of the complex geometry, the multiblock technique was adopted for numerical analysis and a special treatment for transferring data from each of the block interfaces was implemented in order to maintain the conserved properties. To validate the present code, flow passing through a square duct with a 90-deg bend was computed, our results show good accordance with other experimental and computational results. The numerical simulation was done with the flow of the water jet pump having a 180-deg bend in order to calculate the performance at different operating conditions. The performance of the water jet pump can be improved by study of parameters which clarify the relations between the geometric variables and the flow characteristics of vortex strength and location.

  • 토양수분은 생태수문학에서 식생과의 상호작용의 중요한 인자이자, 대기와의 상호작용으로 인한 총체적인 물 순환에 밀접한 관련이 있다. 수문학적으로는 증발, 침투, 지하수 함량, 토양 침식, 식생 분포 등을 지배하는 중요한 요소이고, 특히 시 공간적 분포특성은 강수 사상 후 토양으로의 침투 및 토양수분의 재분포, 증발산과 불포화대에서의 오염물의 이송을 예측하는데 매우 중요하다. 또한, '07년 하천법 개정으로 증발산량 및 토양수분량이 신규 수문조사 항목으로 추가되어, 토양수분 측정에 대한 필요성이 높아졌다. 따라서, 2008년 5월, K-water연구원에서는 현재 시험유역으로 운영하고 있는 용담시험유역에 토양수분관측망(6개 관측소)을 구축하였다. 토양수분계는 토양수분을 결정하는 가장 중요한 인자인 강우자료의 획득이 이루어지는 지점에 설치하여 정확도와 신뢰도를 높일 수 있도록 용담시험 유역 내 6개 우량관측소에 설치하였다. 하지만 장비의 노후화에 따른 자료 취득의 어려움으로 인하여 2013년 4월, 토양수분계를 전면 교체하였다. 토양수분계는 기존의 FDR 방식에서 EC 농도에 대한 영향이 가장 적고, 플럭스 타워에 위치한 토양수분계 센서와 동일한 TDR 방식의 센서로 장비를 전면 교체하였다. 센서 설치 장소 변경에 따른 TDR 센서의 검증과 그리고 흙의 종류, 입도, 다짐도, 온도 등에 의한 오차가 발생 여부를 판단하기 위하여 이에 대한 보정을 실시하였다. 원지반 시료채취를 통하여 토양수분량을 측정하였고, TDR 센서에 의해 측정된 토양수분량과 채취된 시료에서 측정된 토양수분량의 결과를 비교하였고, 각 지점별 토양구성비와 전기전도도 조건을 고려하여 각 토층별 계수적용을 달리하여 센서 보정을 실시하였다. 그 결과 기존 센서 제조사에서 제안한 방정식을 그대로 사용하는 것 보다는 센서 검증을 통하여 얻은 계수보정에 의한 토양수분 변환식을 사용하는 것이 정확한 현장 자료를 확보할 수 있고, 신뢰도 높은 자료를 얻을 수 있다고 판단된다.

  • 의복 쾌적감은 착용자가 환경변화에 대하여 쾌적한 감정을 갖는 것을 의미한다. 직물의 쾌적성은 접촉감 뿐만 아니라 공기, 열, 수분을 전달하는 직물의 물리적 특성과 관계가 있는데 특별히 직물의 표면특성과 관련하여 변화하는 쾌적인자는 온냉감과 열, 수분 및 공기전달성이다. 따라서 직물의 표면 형태 및 두께에 따라 열, 수분 및 공기전달 특성은 달라질 뿐만 아니라 인체에 접촉하였을 때 접촉면적이 달라지므로 촉감에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 의복의 쾌적성 향상의 중요한 인자로 대표적인 직물의 역학 특성과 열 및 수분전달특성을 직물 구성사의 단면형상을 달리하였을 때의 그 상관 관계에 대하여 알아보았다. Study on the Continuous Composting Process to Reduce the Use of Bulking Agent in Pig Slurry (톱밥 절감형 돈분 슬러리 연속 퇴비화 공정 연구)

  • To develop the composting system to reduce the use of bulking agent, continuous composting was performed with farmer scale facility, The plant comprises a horizontal pit reactor closed inside a greenhouse and equipped with a turning machine moving on rails. The pit was 9m wide and 50m long and the maximum height of loaded materials was $1.8m^2$. The materials remained in the reactor for 5 months. During the composting process, temperature and water content measured and water balance was evaluated. The reaction temperature of composting was changed $30{\sim}50^{\circ}C$ and high in the middle and low in under composting piles. The moisture contents of the compost were approximately 70% during the experiment. The amount of effluent was 10.6% and $3.16m^3$ of pig slurry per $1m^3$ of bulking agent was treated during continuous composting process. BOD and SS reduction of the effluent in continuous composting was 86.5% and 92.2%, respectively. Indoor relative humidity in night time was changed between 80 and 100%.

Studies on the Calculating Method of Conditioned Weight by dry Weight after Boiling-off in Raw Silk (생사정량산정에 있어서 연감후 무수량의 도입에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the method of conditioned weight test by which the dealing weight of raw silk can be calculated from true fiber in order to do the fair trading. The results of this study were as follows. 1. It is more reasonable than the current test that conditioned weight as a dealing weigh can be calculated by boil-off and moisture regain which is a percentage of boil-on and moisture regain to net weight. Because the boil-off and moisture regain can show directly the amount of true fiber and reproductibility in raw silk. In this study the boil-off and moisture regain is to take dry weight after boiling-off from net weight. 2. To calculate the conditioned weight from boil-of and moisture regain it would be proper that the standard additional ratio is 44 per cent of dry weight after boiling-off. 3. Boil-of percent of the sizing sample skein used in the size test did not show a statistical significance comparing with the boil-off percent of sample skeins (24 skeins) which may represent that of a lot. To observe this result boil-off percent of the sizing sample skein may represent that of a lot. 4. In Korea if conditioned weight test substitute for test of boil-off and moisture regain, we make a profit of two billion won in a year at the current market-price.

  • A possibility of evaluation of the major internal quality factors-Brix, moisture contents, firmness and acid content in the Korean domestic 'Fuji'apple fruits by near-infrared reflectance spectroscopic (NIRS) methods were investigated. A multiple linear regression(MLR) analysis between the data obtained by physico- chemical analysis method using refractometer, freeze drier, texture analyzer and titrater and NIR spectral data was carried out to make a calibration. The standard error of prediction(SEP) of Brix, moisture, firmness and acid content were $0.50^{\circ}Brix,\;0.64%,\;0.14kg/cm^2$ and 0.07%. It is concluded that NIRS methods can be used to evaluate Brix and moisture contents of in a apple non-destructive and rapid way but the accuracy for determination of firmness and acid content was slightly low.

Investigation on the Amount of Water Evaporation from Composting Facilities Operated in Swine Farms (양돈농가에서 퇴비화시설별 수분변화량 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The results of the research on the amount of water evaporation from composting facilities operated in swine farms are below. The number of swine per a farm was 1433 head/farm for a Simple Composting Facility (SCF) and 3500 head/farm for a Escalator composting facility(ECF) system. The capacities of the SCF and the ECF were $0.33m^3/head$ and $0.25m^3/head$, respectively. The ECF had 24.2% less capacity than the SCF. The average water contents in the swine manure for the CP and the ECF of the surveyed farms were 86.8% and 85.7%, respectively, which revealed the ECF had 1.3% less average water content than the SCF. Daily water inputs into the SCF and the ECF were $4.1kg/m^3/day$ and $6.5kg/m^3/day$, respectively. The ECF had approximately 36.9% higher water input than the SCF. Fermentation temperatures during the composting period for the SCF and the ECF were up to $45^{\circ}C$ and $70^{\circ}C$, respectively. The decreases in water contents per each square meter for the SCF and the ECF were 3.7 kg and 5.2 kg, respectively. The ECF lost approximately 28.8% more water content than the ECF, which would be caused by the difference of fermentation temperature between two systems. Fertilizer components after composting were examined. Nitrogen contents of the SCF and the ECF were similar (0.84% and 0.86%, respectively) and ${P_2}{O_5}$ contents were 0.78% and 0.74%, respectively, showing the SCF had slightly higher content than the ECF. However, OM and OM/N did not show the difference between two systems. Hence, efforts to increase composting efficiency with considerations of the water content of swine manure, fermentation temperature, and water evaporation potential should be done when the SCF and the ECF were used in swine farms.
