Effects of Aeration Level to Root-zone on the Growth and Fruit Yield of the Hydroponically Grown Cucumber Plants in Spring Season (춘계재배시 양액재배 베드내 통기수준 차이가 오이의 생육 및 과실수량에 미치는 영향)

  • 초장과 엽수에 있어서는 별도의 배수판을 설치한 Bio-2처리구에서 높게 나타났고 fan을 이용한 강제환기를 시킨 Fan처리구에서는 낮게 나타났다. 경경과 엽면적에 있어서는 무통기처리구인 대조구에서 높게 나타난 반면 경경에 있어서는 Fan처리구와 배수구 통기구인 Bio-1처리구는 생육후기에 있어서 크게 차이가 나지는 않았으나 본 실험에서는 낮게 나타났다. 엽면적은 Fan처리구가 가장 낮게 나타났다. fan을 설치하여 강제환기를 시킨 Fan처리구가 과실수량과 과중, 과장에 있어서는 다른 처리구에 비해 높게 나타났고 무통기구인 대조구가 가장 낮았다. 전반적인 생육이나 과실수량 및 과실품질에 있어서는 근권의 수분함량비율이 비교적 안정적인 Bio-2처리구가 가장 좋은 것으로 나타났다.

  • 일반적인 알루미늄 표면처리 방식중 De Smut 는 질산 50~60% 용액에 상온에서 수초에서 수분 침적으로 Smut가 거의 제거가 되므로 도금공정에서 문제가 되지않았다. 단지 NOx 의 발생으로 작업공간 에서의 환경이 열악해 질 수 있다는 것이 문제 였다, 그러나 환경문제에 있어서 정부의 질소 규제 가 시작 되면서 알루미늄을 재료로 표면처리 하는 업체 에서는 질산 사용이 곤란해 해졌다. 그러나 질산이 금속과 의 친화력은 스테인레스, 알루미늄, 등 많은 금속에서 소지금속의 용해를 방지 하면서 산화스케일( De Smut)을 제거하는 데 유용한 산이어서 아직도 이용되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서 는 우선 스테인레스 강의 산세시 불산과 질산의 혼산을 사용 하는 것을 불산, 불화암모늄, 황산, 과산화 수소 혹은 불산, 염산, 과산화 수소 등으로 전환 사용 하는 것 에 착안 하여 황산, 과산화수소 시스템에서 혹은 불산, 황산, 과산화 수소, 등으로 Smut 제거가 가능 한지 알아보고 그 효과를 살펴보았다.

검은비늘버섯을 첨가한 국수의 품질특성

  • 충청북도농업기술원 균이팀에서 재배한 검은비늘버섯 국수를 제조하기 위해서 밀가루에 3, 5, 7%의 버섯분말을 첨가하여 국수를 제조하고 그 품질 특성을 조사하였다. Farinograph를 이용하여 최고점도와 최종점도 및 노화도를 조사한 결과 무처리보다 버섯첨가구에서 모두 낮은 값을 나타내었으며 첨가량이 증가할수록 낮아지는 경향을 나타내었다. 버섯분말 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 수분 흡수율은 약간 증가하였다. 색도는 버섯분말의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 분말, 반죽, 국수 등 모든 처리구에서 명도는 낮아졌으며, 적색도와 황색도는 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 버섯국수 조리 후 중량과 부피는 버섯분말 및 식초 전처리 농도가 증가할수록 감소하였으며 국물의 탁도는 큰 차이가 없었다. 조리면의 물성 측정 결과 버섯분말 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 부착성, 탄력성, 씹는감은 증가하였으며, 부착성은 식초 0.2% 처리구보다 0.5% 처리구에서 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 관능검사 결과 식초 0.2%액에 침지한 후 건조한 버섯분말 5%을 첨가하여 제조한 처리구에서 기호도가 가장 높게 나타났다.

Effect of Self-incompatibility Control Substances on the Quality and Fruiting of Apple (사과에 있어서 자가불화합 제어제 처리 효과)

  • This study investigated the effect of self-incompatibility control substance 'Apple plus' in improving self-fertilization and quality on apple. Results showed that the rate of fruit setting of disc florets of Fuji apple in the open field increased from 17.2% in 2004 to 44.4% in 2005 for the treated plots and from 0.5% in 2004 to 3.0% in 2005 for the control. In the case of using net covering, the rate of fruit setting increased from 3.3% in 2004 to 5.2% in 2005 for the treated plots and from 0.4% in 2004 to 0.1% in 2005 for the control. For the quality of apple fruits, results showed that there was no significant difference on the fruit L/D and firmness for both control and treated plots. However, the number of seeds was affected by the different substances which produced the following average number of seeds: control, 0.9; IS-1, 1.2; IS-2, 1.2; IS-3, 1.5 and IS-4, 0.7. The SSR genetic analysis showed that the rate of self-fertilization was highest for IS-1 (100%), followed by IS-2 (73%), IS-3 (68%), IS-4 (62%) and control (0%).

Effect of no-tillage and green manure practices on the nitrous oxide emission from cropland (농경지에서 무경운 및 녹비 투입에 따른 아산화질소 배출특성)

  • Cropland is a major source of atmospheric nitrous oxide (N2O) and we need technologies in the field of agriculture that can reduce the presence of N2O. In this study, a field experiment encompassing six treatments was conducted to determine the efflux of N2O in cropland during the growing season. An experimental plot was composed of two main sectors, no-tillage (NT) and conventional tillage (CT), which were subdivided into three plots according to types of nitrogen (N) sources: CF, chemical fertilizer; HV, hairy vetch+chemical fertilizer; and RY, rye+chemical fertilizer. The cumulative N2O emissions were 179.8 mg N2O m-2 for CF-CT, 108.1 mg N2O m-2 for HV-CT, 303.5 mg N2O m-2 for RY-CT, 86.7 mg N2O m-2 for CF-NT, 73.8 mg N2O m-2 for HV-NT, and 122.7 mg N2O m-2 for RY-NT during the fallow season. The CT, HV, and RY of no-tilled soils were reduced by 51.8, 31.7 and 59.6%, respectively (p<0.001). Our results indicate that the use of no-tillage and hairy vetch practice rather than conventional tillage and chemical fertilizer practice can decrease N2O emission.

Comparison of Packaging Methods to Prolong the Freshness and Quality of Korean Head Cabbage (Brassica rapa). (알배추 포장 방법에 따른 품질 및 선도 비교)

  • The effect of packaging and storage methods in enhancing the shelf life and improving the postharvest quality of the Korean head cabbage (Brassica rapa) used for wrapping vegetables was studied at 10℃. The wrapping cabbage was packed using four types of packaging and storage materials: (A) Perforated PP film; (B) Non-perforated PP film; (C) PVC film for wrapping; and (D) non-packaged as control. The quality parameters, such as fresh appearance, weight loss, hue angle, moisture content, hardness, and SSC of wrapping cabbage were investigated. The weight loss of wrapping cabbage showed a significant difference between the one packaged with film and the non-packaged as control. The general appearance of Korean cabbage stored at 10℃ was not significantly affected by the packaging treatments. However, Korean head cabbage packaged with perforated film tend to show a better external appearance compared with those exposed to the other packaging during three weeks of storage at 10℃. The inside appearance, hue angle, moisture content, hardness, and SSC, gradually decreased during the storage period. No remarkable change in the measured items were observed in Korean cabbage packaging methods. In this experiment, the Korean cabbage packaged inside a PP film with holes, and stored at 10℃ temperature had the most desirable outcome of extending the head cabbage's shelf life and appearance quality. Results suggest that perforated packaging treatment combined with low storage temperature could be an effective method in prolonging the shelf life of Korean cabbage for wrapping vegetable.

Weed Occurrence According to the Density of Water Foxtail in No-tillage Seeding Rice Paddy Fields (벼 무경운 직파 논에서 뚝새풀 발생밀도에 따른 잡초 발생)

  • No-tillage direct seeding of rice is consumed less labor and oil energy by no plowing and rotary tillage. And it has other advantages of soil and water conservation and accumulation of organic matter on paddy surface due to crowded water foxtail (Alopecurus aequalis var. amurensis). When no-tillage seeding of rice, many water foxtail occurred in winter paddy field. In this experiment their covering degrees were 97.6% and 95.2% in clay loam and sandy loam paddy soils, respectively. Because of this, Stellaria alsine var. undulata, Cardamine flexuosa, Rorippa indica and Ixeris chinensis etc. annual and perennial wintering weeds occurrence was reduced. And annual weeds Chenopodium serotinum and Polygonum hydropiper that occurred early in spring were also reduced. As well as Echinochloa crusgalli var. praticola, Cyperus difformis, Monochoria vaginalis and Lindernia procumbens etc. summer annual weeds that occurred after irrigation were also reduced. In conclusion, no-tillage direct seeding of rice has another advantages of weed management by water foxtail.

Estimation of Potentially mineralizable nitrogen of organic materials (유기자원의 무기화량에 의한 질소 공급량 추정)

  • 유기농업에서 유기자원을 이용하여 적정량의 양분을 공급하기 위해서는 먼저 유기자원의 무기화특성을 고려하여야 한다. 토성, 기온, 재배형태 등 다양한 요인을 고려하면서 무기화모델을 이용하여 유기농업에서 많이 사용되고 있는 유기질비료와 작물잔사 등을 대상으로 잠재 무기화가능 질소량(PMN, Potentially mineralizabe nitrogen)을 추정하였다. 실험은 실내에서 항온 배양하여 유기자원별 질소 무기화 양상을 분석함으로서 대상 유기자원의 PMN 및 무기화 속도를 도출하였다. 실험재료는 팜박, 피마자박, 팽화왕겨, 토마토, 수박, 감자, 마늘 등 7종을 대상으로 $20^{\circ}C,\;25^{\circ}C,\;30^{\circ}C$ 조건에서 하였으며, 최대수분보유량의 60% 수준으로 하여 사양토 및 식양토 조건에서 실험하였다. 유기자원은 토양 100g에 질소 30kg/10a 해당량을 시용하여 112일까지 항온하였다. 토성별 무기화량은 식양토 보다 사양토에서 다소 높은 경향을 보였다. 또한 항온온도가 높을수록 무기화량이 증가하였다. 유기자원별로는 피마자박에서 높았고, 팽화왕겨는 낮은 경향이었다. 유기자원이 처리된 것에서 토양 자체의 무기화량을 뺀 순무기화량은 피마자박, 토마토잔사, 감자잔사가 항온초기부터 무기화가 진행되었으며, 수박잔사, 마늘잔사는 항온 초기에 음의 값을 가지는 유기화 과정을 거친 후 항온 60일에서 80일 사이에서 무기화가 진행되었고 팽화왕겨의 경우 항온 11일까지 유기화가 계속되었다. PMN 및 무기화속도를 추정하기 위하여 반응속도식을 이용하였으며, 모델의 적합도를 높이기 위하여 이중지수모형을 이용하여 매개변수를 결정하고 무기화경향을 예측한 결과 PMN은 피마자박>마늘잔사=팜박>수박잔사=토마토잔사>감자잔사의 순이었다. 또한 유기자원의 무기화량과 C/N율과는 부의 상관관계($r^2$=0.8653)를 나타내었다. 요소의 PMN(135.6mg/kg)에 대한 유기자원별 PMN의 상대적 비율은 피마자박이 100%, 팜박과 마늘잔사가 81%, 토마토, 수박 및 감자잔사가 28~65% 수준이었다.

Influence of the Biodegradable Packaging Material on the Rheological Properties of Eggs (생분해성 포장재질이 달걀의 물성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • The changes in rheological properties of egg white stored in biodegradable package were investigated by pH change, failure stress and stress relaxation curve, and compared with control without package and complex PE. Initial pH of egg white stored in biodegradable package changed from 8.39 to 9.3 after 8 day storage, showing similar trend in pH change as that of control without package. Initial 14.25 N failure stress was changed into 6.76 N in biodegradable package and 9.31 N in control. Complex PE, having a relatively low gas permeability compared to biodegradable package, showed less pH changes from 8.30 to 8.81, but a greater decrease in failure stress into 5.29 N, indicating more deteriorating effect in complex PE package. Viscoelastic constants, such as elastic constant and viscous constant, obtained from stress-relaxation curve by three element Maxwell model were not significantly different between control and biodegradable package, but eggs stored in complex PE showed greater changes during storage. Therefore, the permeability seems to be the major factors to influence the rheological properties of egg and biodegradable packaging materials showed a potential substitute package for eggs.

Studies on betterment of flue-curing of tobacco by using Ethephon (Ethephon (2-Chloroethylphosphonic acid)을 이용한 담배 건조법개선에 관한 연구)

  • Five different levels of Ethephon were treated on tobacco cultivar yellow Special A and Coker and harvested for curing. Changes in dehydration properties, yellowing, chlorophyll, nicotine, sugar and starch contents during the processes of curing were studied in order to justify feasibility of adoption an idea of 3-stage-curing method instead of the 5-stage. Ethephon-treated-tobacco leaves showed marked degradation of chlorophyll, greater dehydration and greater reduction in nicotine contents while little change in either sugar, starch and other chemical components. They showed also shorter hours of curing period allowing possible curing response at a relatively low temperature than those without treatment. Thus they undergo only 3 stages of flue-curing processes, yellowing, calor-fixing and vein-drying, and need 72 hours to finish curing, but the ordinary leaves need 100 hours for it.
