Dynamic Characteristics Recovery of Delaminated Composite Structure (층간 분리가 있는 복합재 구조물의 동적특성 회복)

  • In this paper, feasibility of dynamic characteristics recovery of delaminated composite structure is numerically studied by using active control algorithm and piezoelectric actuator. Macro-fiber composite(MFC), which has great flexibility and high actuating force, is considered as an actuator in this work. After construction of finite element model for delaminated composite structure based on improved layerwise theory, modal characteristics are investigated and changes of natural frequencies and mode shapes, caused by delamination, are observed. Then, active control algorithm is realized and implemented to system model and control performances are numerically evaluated. Dynamic characteristics of delaminated composite structure are effectively recovered to those of healthy composite structure.

Diagnosis of Power and Control Cables Using Change of Reflection Coefficients Due to Weak Fault (미약한 결함에 의한 반사 계수 변화를 이용한 제어 및 전력 케이블의 상태 진단)

  • Since power and control cables have narrow bandwidth due to their loss at high frequencies, it is difficult to detect the weak fault using conventional reflectometry. It is because the reflected wave caused by the weak fault is overlapped and hidden by the ripple of the strong reflected wave from the end of the cable. This paper proves that the reflected wave from the weak fault can be considered to be linearly superposed on the strong reflected wave from the end of the cable based on the transmission line theory. Then, the weak fault point is experimentally diagnosed using the difference between reflection coefficients before and after the fault generation.

  • When a tunnel or an underground structure is excavated in deep geological environments, the failure process is affected and eventually dominated by stress-induced fractures growing preferentially parallel to the excavation boundary. This fracturing is generally referred to as brittle failure by spatting and slabbing. Continuum models with traditional failure criteria such as Hoek-Brown or Mohr-Coulomb criteria have not been successful in prediction of the extent and depth of brittle failure. Instead cohesion weakening and frictional strengthening (CWFS) model is known to predict brittle failure well. In this study, CWFS model was applied to predict the brittle failure around a circular opening observed in physical model experiments. To obtain the input parameters for CWFS model, damage-controlled tests were carried out. The predicted depth and extent of brittle failure using CWFS model were compared to the results of the physical model experiment and numerical simulation using traditional model.

  • 본 연구에서는 건물의 규모, 용도 및 형식 등에 따라 다양하게 요구되는 성능에 대응할 수 있도록 하기 위한 성능설계에 대한 개념을 검증하고, 강구조 건축물의 특성을 고려한 성능레벨 및 성능한계에 대한 분류방법을 제안하였다. 또한 강구조 건축물의 경우 강도가 높고 경량인 특성에 의해 다른 구조형식에서는 크게 고려하지 않아도 되는 거주성능 및 진동특성을 제어하여 기능을 유지하기 위한 성능레벨을 설정하여 구조물이 항복하기 전의 성능레벨을 기능유지 및 무손상의 2단계로 제시하고, 이 때의 한계치를 기능한계 및 손상한계로 구분하였다. 강구조 건축물의 손상한계를 정의하기 위해 강구조 건축물의 설계 예를 이용하여 항복 층간변형각을 조사하였다. 그 결과 구조물의 손상발생을 억제할 수 있는 손상한계를 규정하기 위해 주로 사용하고 있는 층간변형각은 구조형식 및 설계방법에 따라 편차가 크게 나타나고 있으므로 손상한계치의 층간변형각을 임의로 설정하는 것은 매우 어려우며 향후 이에 대한 해석적, 실험적 검증이 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

  • The core technology of a starting device in the packaged power system is the pinion gear shifting device and to limit the initial starting voltage. Although the conventional products have been used the starting controller using mechanical contactor, these have a big problem such as the uncertainty for the start of starting motor after a pinion gear is completely shifted or the arc demage due to high current. In this study, in order to solve these problems, we designed and fabricated a new product to achieve the safety and reliability as follows: the pinion gear-shifting control circuits to eliminate the uncertainty of the start, the starting control system using semiconductor device to prevent the arc demage of contactor caused by high current, a start safety devices for soft starting of series motor. In addition, we obtained the electrical safety by separating the pinion gear control circuit and the source circuit of motor.

  • 한전에서 운영중인 요르단 알카트라나발전소에서 발전기 고정자권선 전계완화 절연물의 손상되었다. Overlap 부위의 정비를 수행한 결과를 분석하였고, 손상원인을 규명하여 불시정지로 인한 손실을 최소화하기 위한 단기대책과 장기적인 대책을 제시하였다.

  • 현재의 전자제어 차량 정비에 있어서 각종 센서 및 엑츄에이터의 전압파형을 측정, 분석하여 원인을 진단하는 사례가 일반화 되어 가고 있다. 이러한 추세에 맞추어, 자동차 정비 실습 교육시 전압 파형 측정을 위하여 학생들이 직접 각 센서 및 엑츄에이터 커넥터에 탐침을 연결, 측정하고 있으며 이 과정에서 커넥터의 전선피복이 손상되는 사례가 빈번히 일어나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 트리즈의 6단계 창의성 기법을 적용하여 전선피복이 손상되는 원인을 찾아내고 혁신적인 해결책을 제시하였다.

A Study on the Immunity Improvement of Semiconductor Switching Components (반도체 스위칭소자의 내성특성 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The switching components to control the speed of dc motor, which perform vital fuction in a modern motor vehicle or a ship, are susceptibile to suffer damage or upset by switching transient. An equivalent circuit was derived, in this paper, to select an ideal component having immunity against the switching transient among varisotor, zenner diode, etc. Furthermore, we have carried out the optimal improved transient protection circuit design in the view of cost effectiveness, proper wave form of transient defined by the international regulations. The process and cause of the damages in the switching components were examined. Then, the immunity improvement of semiconductor switching components to control a dc motor has been achieved considering impedance condition accoring to the variation of the diverting transient current.

Vibration Control and Cost-Effectiveness Evaluation of Cable-Stayed Bridges with Semi-Active Control System (준능동 제어시스템을 이용한 사장교의 진동제어 및 비용효율성 평가)

  • This paper presents cost-effectiveness evaluation of semi-active control system for cable-stayed bridge under earthquake excitations with various magnitudes and frequency contents. Semi-active control system, which is operated by using Bi-stale control method on the basis of linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) optimal controller, is designed for the benchmark control problem proposed by Dyke et at. The cost-effectiveness of the proposed control system is defined by the ratio of life-cycle costs between a bridge structure with shock transmission units and a bridge structure with the semi-active control devices. The simulated results show that the damper cost has little influence on the cost-effectiveness of the semi-active control system while the cost-effectiveness is quite sensitive to the damage cost induced by the bridge failure. It is also found that the semi-active control system guarantees relatively high cost-effectiveness for the cable-stayed bridge subject to the ground motions in the regions of moderate seismicity with soft soil condition and strong seismicity with stiff soil condition.
