Estimation of Predictive Travel Times Using Ubiquitous Traffic Environment under Incident Conditions (유비쿼터스 환경에서 돌발상황 발생 시 예측적 통행시간 추정기법)

  • This study presented a novel method to estimate travel times under incident conditions. Predictive travel time information was defined and evaluated with the proposed method. The proposed method utilized individual vehicle speeds obtained from global positioning systems (GPS) and inter-vehicle communications(IVC) for more reliable real-time travel times. Individual vehicle trajectory data were extracted from microscopic traffic simulations using AIMSUN. Market penetration rates (MPR) and IVC ranges were explored with the accuracy of travel times. Relationship among travel time accuracy, IVC ranges, and MPR were further identified using regression analyses. The outcomes of this study would be useful to derive functional requirements associated with traffic information systems under forthcoming ubiquitous transportation environment

  • This paper describes the developed HILS and test equipment in order to test the performances of MMW(Millimeter-Wave) seeker which can detect and track a high speed of short-range ballistic missile and aircraft. This system is used to 141 horn antenna array, array switching, and gain and phase control algorithm to simulate various kind of targets and trajectory of high speed and maneuver moving target. In addition, it simulates not only velocity and range for these targets but also clutter and jamming environments. System configuration and implementation and the measurement results of major subsystems such as target motion simulator, simulation signal generator, high speed data aquisition unit, and central control unit are presented. These systems could verify the detection and tracking performance of MMW seeker through dynamic real-time test based on simulation flight scenario.

The Kinematical Analysis between the Skilled and the Unskilled for Air Pistol Shooting Posture (공기권총 사격 자세에 대한 우수선수와 비우수선수간의 운동학적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effective posture for air pistol shooting. Participants were 3 male athletes of shooting with at least five years of experience and another group of 3 males athletes with less than three years of experience. For the purpose, the shooting motion was analysed using three dimensional image technology. Data from each event for the two groups, competent and less competent ones, were compared to see the differences from the kinematical point of view. Time of period in competent group was longer than less competent group during the shooting posture. Displacement of center of mass and pistol about medial/lateral and antero/posterior in competent group was little than less competent group from aim to shooting. And these result were effect to the velocity. Distance and time in competent group within coaching machine were smaller than less competent group. To the result, it was appear that precision of aim in competent group was higher than less competent group.

  • Conceptual design process is defined for the air-launching rocket by including analysis modules like mission analysis, staging, propulsion analysis, configuration, weight analysis, aerodynamics analysis and trajectory analysis. As a result of the conceptual design, the supersonic(M=1.5) air-launching rocket with hybrid engine for first stage propulsion system is designed. For the best system alternative selection, trade study for the 1st stage engine type and launching speeds using sequential optimization and confirming feasibility of baseline air-launching rocket has been performed. As a result of trade study, all alternatives are competitive in total weight and show only small difference in total weight per unit payload weight. Therefore, it is confirmed that the baseline air-launching rocket which has advantage in system safety especially in supersonic launching is feasible.

  • The nonlinear dynamic behaviors of guardrail established on the local or high way have been investigated using BARRIER VII program with respect to four design variables such as section type of beams and posts, impact angle, impact velocity and vehicle weight. Computer simulation programs are sophisticated analytical models for analyzing dynamic vehicle/barrier interactions and provide a relatively inexpensive alternative to full scale crash testing. This study has been focused on the structural adequacy, occupant risk, and vehicle trajectory. For this purpose, the maximum defection and impact force have been calculated to design the clear zone and to analyze effect of impact attenuation. Also, the acceleration of vehicle and exit angle after collision have been computed to estimate the occupant risk. From this study, it is suggested that we should strengthen the design criteria of guardrail to prevent from disastrous traffic accidents.

  • Using the 3-D analysis, this study winpared and analyzed the 'fade-shot swing' which is one of the golf technique. The subjects of this study were 3 male pro golfers they experimented with only a 7 iron. The purpose was to enhance their performance by producing the important kinematical parameters, finding out the features in them and providing the data to a coach and players. As a result, the position of the club head showed from the outside orbit to the inside orbit. When position of the center of mass moved backwards, the probability of the failure of the fade-shot increased. Cocking angle had an effect on easing the wrist for a smooth follow-through after the impact. It showed that the changes in the shoulder movement was made first and followed by the waist. The hip joint angular velocity achieved a smooth fade-shot motion due to the hitting delay also the velocity of the club-head was faster when uncocking was released at the time of impact.

  • 본 연구에서는 제트 추진 기관의 터빈 익렬에서의 유동과 대기 중에 부유되어 있는 입자 또는 연소 생성물들이 제트엔진 내부로 유입될 경우 이에 따른 압축기 및 터빈 날개의 마모 및 충돌 부위를 예측하기 위하여 수치해석을 수행하였다. 일반적으로 각종 항공기의 추진 기관용 가스 터빈 엔진은 대기중에 부유되어 있는 각종 입자들의 영향을 받게 된다. 특히, 확산 지역을 통과하는 항공기나 먼지 입자 부유물이 많은 공업지대 또는 사막지역을 비행하는 항공기의 경우는 모래 알갱이, 먼지 및 연소 입자의 직접적인 영향을 받아 각 요소들에 심각한 부식 및 마모가 발생됨으로써 성능 저하 및 냉각 통로의 막힘, 압축기와 터빈 날개의 손상 등이 예측되어진다. 특히 항공기용 추진 기관은 엔진 입구에 유입 공기를 정화하기 위한 여과장치의 설치가 불가능하며, 자동차용 가스터빈 엔진의 경우는 여과 장치를 부착하여도 미세한 입자들이 여과 장치에 여과되지 않고 엔진 내부로 침투하게 되므로 치명적인 손상이 예상된다. 이러한 손상들은 초기에는 미세하게 발생하지만, 손상 정도가 점점 누적됨에 따라서 항공기의 안전 운전에 심각한 위험 요소로서 작용할 수 있으며, 경제적으로도 기관의 유지 보수비용의 증가를 가져올 수 있다. 따라서 압축기에 화산재 또는 대기중에 부유되어 있는 금속 입자나 먼지입자 등이 유입되었을 경우, 압축기 날개의 손상 부위와 정도를 예측하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Lagangian방법을 적용하여 압축기 날개위의 부유 입자 충돌 부위를 예측하고, 설계 시 이를 보완할 수 있는 기준을 제시하였다. 아울러 설계 입구각과 크게 벗어난 유동의 유입시에 발생되는 박리 현상과 이에 따른 입자의 유동 및 날개의 입자 접착 부위를 예측하였다. 본 연구에서는 여러 크기의 입자(다양한 Stokes 수)들을 주어진 속도에서 유선을 따라 압축기 입구에서 압축기 유로로 여러 위치에서 부유 시켜서 그 입자들의 궤적 및 충돌, 점착 위지를 고찰하고, 정량적인 충돌량을 해석하기 위하여 입자 충돌 계수를 정의하여 압축기 날개 표면의 충돌특성을 알아보았다. 이러한 예측을 통하여 압축기 날개 표면의 충돌 부위를 예측하고, 날개의 표면을 코팅하는 등 보호 개선책을 제시할 수 있고, 연소의 반응물 입자가 터빈 날개에 충돌하여 발생되는 날개 표면의 파손, 냉각 홀의 막임, 연소 입자의 점착 부위 등을 예측하여 보완책을 준비할 수 있도록 하였다.

Response of Cable-Buoy Systems to Directional Random Waves (다방향 불규칙파랑에 의한 케이블과 정체시스템의 반응)

  • Numerical models of directional wave spectra for the analysis of offshore structural cable responses are verified. Alternative spreading models are used to predict wave-induced flows in water and for mooring systems. Hydrodynamic wave forces upon cable are estimated. using a Morison formula encompassing considerations for drag and for inertial forces both parallel and tangential to the slope of the cable. Numerical analysis for directional random waves. including consideration of displacement and velocity, trajectory, phase plane response. and tension are shown for mooring system cable responses at both the tether point for a buoy and at the anchor point. The effects of wave forces far different drag coefficients, various significant wave heights, and selected wave parameters are considered in the analysis. For the specific systems considered in the examples, it is demonstrated that wave period and height as well as wave spreading function parameters and drag coefficients, have an important effect upon the dynamic responses of the cable-buoy systems.

Minimum-Time Trajectory Control of Ships Using Neural Networks (신경회로망을 이용한 선박의 최단시간 궤적제어)

  • A ship is intended to reach a specified target point in the minimum-time when it travels with a constant speed through a region of strong currents and its heading angle is the control variable. This is called the Zermelo's navigation problem. Its approximate solution for the minimum-time control may be found using the calculus of variation. However, the accuracy of its approximate solution is not high since the solution is based on a table form of inverse relations for some complicated nonlinear equations. To enhance the accuracy, this paper employs the neural network to represent the inverse relation of the complicated nonlinear equations. The accurate minimum-time control is possible with the interpolation property of the neural network. Through the computer simulation study we have found that the proposed method is superior to the conventional ones.

Study on Three-Dimensional Curved-Surface Machining Using Industrial Articulated Robot (다관절 로봇을 이용한 3차원 곡면가공 방안에 관한 연구)

  • NC machines are generally used for machining operations because of their position accuracy, path accuracy, and machining reaction force. However, some NC machines require a very large space and are expensive. Recently, industrial articulated robot arms with large handling capability and wrist torque have been developed and the corresponding sensor technology has been improved. A machining robot for three-dimensional large curved objects was developed on the basis of an automatic-path-generation method. A self-position-compensation method with a laser displacement sensor was adopted for the six-axis robot developed, because the large articulated robot arms had poor position accuracy. An automatic-path-generation method using specific points was adopted to reduce the number of teaching points and time. In order to determine the proper machining conditions, various machining conditions such as tool rotation speed, cutting angle, cutting depth, and tool moving speed, were evaluated.
