Classification of Vocabulary for Evaluation on Machine Noise at High Noisy Workshop (고소음 작업장 기계소음 평가를 위한 어휘의 유형화)

  • After the Industrialization of 1960s, while it has greatly contributed to the industrial development owing to acceleration of mechanization, but it is real situation that the countermeasure to noise damage generating at the loud noise workshop is scarcely made. Especially, the machine noise made at factory and workplace is so shocking and repeatedly reiterating terrible noise that most of the spot workers are forcedly imposing such dangers as the severe unpleasant feeling and hearing impairments. On such point of view, this research has attempted to extract the proper rating vocabulary in order for evaluation on machine noise made at the high noisy workshop, therefore it is considering that those extracted vocabularies could be utilized as the useful psycho-acoustic experiment for evaluation on machine noise, also for establishment of regulation standard in domestic high noisy workshop.

  • Recently a number of social surveys on community response to environmental noises have been conducted. Since standardized noise annoyance scales were needed to compare the results from various areas. ICBEN(International Commission on Biological of Noise) Team 6 planned a international joint study and constructed comparable standardized noise annoyance scales using the same method. In Korea the survey was conducted in four areas such as Seoul, Taejon, Taegu and Kwangju. About 100 subjects participated in each area approximately. The 21 adverbs were first in the carly survey, and five verbal annoyance modifiers were finally constructed as follows; 1(Jeonhyo), 2(Jokm), 3(Bikyojerk)m, 4(Ajoo), 5(Umcheongnage)

  • This study aims to select the proper vocabularies for evaluation about the noise emission from water supply and drain installations in apartment bathroom. As a result of surveying overlapping vocabularies and scores of them for each sound sources, 'annoying', 'noisy', 'dynamic' and 'strident' are main unpleasant vocabularies to the noise from water supply and drain installations in apartment bathroom. And vocabularies such as 'dynamic', 'sudden', 'loudness', 'noisy' are classified into the first factor by analysis.

On such point of view, this Research has attempted to extract the proper Rating Vocabulary in order for valuation on Instrument Noise made at the terrible noise-workplace, therefore it is considering that those extracted Vocabularies could be utilized as the useful materials for appraisal on Instrument Noise, also for establishment of Regulation-Standard with regard to Acoustic Psychology Experimentation and Instrument Noise.

  • For the accurate evaluation of traffic noise with various spectrums and fluctuation characteristics, evaluation systems should reflect not only physical quantities but also the psychological respects of individual persons. In this study, adequate words for evaluating traffic noise have been extracted by reviewing the existing vocabularies and augmenting this with the results of a questionnaire prepared especially for apartment dwellers. As a result of this study, followings are suggested. 1) Vocabularies such as 'disagreeable', 'annoying', 'strident', 'disturbed', 'irritate', 'unpleasant', 'dislike' are classified into the first factor by factor analysis. 2) As a result of surveying overlapping vocabularies for each sound sources, 'noisy', 'annoying', strident', 'unpleasant', 'loudness' are main unpleasant vocabularies to franc noise occurring in our domestic apartment houses.

  • 본 연구는 통제적 모델에 의한 연속 숫자음의 인식에 관한 것으로 4 연속 숫자음을 인식 대상으로하여 실험한다. 시스템은 크게 음향 음성 처리부 및 어휘 해석부 두 부분으로 나뉜다. 음향 음성 처리부에서는 입력 음성으로부터 특정 벡터인 12차의 LPC cepstrum 계수를 구하여, 프레임 레이블링과 소음소 레이블링 (phone labelling)을 한다. 프레임 레이블링인 베이스 분류법을 이용하였으며, 소음소 레이블링은 프레임 레이블과 사후확률 (posteriori probability)로 부터 이루어 졌다. 어휘 해석부분에서는 소음소 단위를 입력으로 받아 음운규칙을 통해 작성된 소음소 망을 거쳐 연속 숫자음 출력을 얻도록 했다. 본실험은 화자 3 명이 발음한 35 개의 4 연속 숫자음을 인식 대상으로 하였으며, 4 연속 숫자음을 평가단위로 80%의 인식율을 얻었고, 각 숫자음의 음절을 단위로 95%의 인식율을 얻어 제시한 알고리즘의 유효성을 입증하였다.

  • This experimental study deals with the characteristics of LCD or PDP TV set noise, which are differ form those of CRT TV set. These characteristics are most important for establishing the effective method to reduce noise level, searching for the appropriate exposure level and evaluation method of LCD or PDP TV set noise. This study adopt two measurement method to specify the power level of LCD or PDP TV set noise in anechoic room(ISO 3741) and reverberation room(ISO 3745) . Comparing with each results of the two method, the reverberation room method is more simple in measuring and calculating the power level. And the subjective response test are carried out to select the pair of appropriate adjectives to present the characteristics of LCD or PDP TV set noise. The pair of 17 adjectives are selected from the 168 adjectives which are used in presenting the sound and noise form literature.

  • In this study, the extracted words from the former study such as annoying, loud, noisy, irritating, disagreeable, strident, disturbed, and dissonant are given to subjects in psycho acoustic experiment lab. And then, correlation analysis between the words and floor impact noise rating method were carried out. As a result of this study followings are suggested ‘Annoying’ is the word most accurately expressing the subjects’ unpleasant feeling of domestic floor impact noise. The results of this study could be basic materials for psycho acoustic experiments for criteria on floor impact noise and Sound Classification on Floor Impact Sound Insulation Performance.

Analysis of Emotional Characteristics on Life Environmental Noise I: Structural Analysis of Noise Adjectives (생활공간음의 감성 특성 분석 : 소음 형용사에 대한 차원분석)

  • 본 연구는 우리말 형용사를 이용하여 각종 생활공간음에 대해 느끼는 사람들이 감성적 반응의 차원을 밝히기 위한 기초 연구로 수행되었다. 형용사 사전에서 추출된 어휘들에 대한 적합성 및 유사성 평가를 통해 14개의 형용사가 최종적으로 선정되었고, 이 형용사들의 유사성 점수에 대해 요인분석, 다차원 척도 분석 및 군집분석을 시행하였다. 연구 결과 생활공간음에 대한 사람들의 감성적 반응은 크게 3가지 차원, 즉 쾌-불쾌, 민감-둔감 및 지각된 크기가 추출되었고, 소음에 대해 느끼는 감성은 이들 차원 상에서 측정될 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이들 차원들은 서로 직선적인 관계가 있는 것으로 보인다. 즉, 소음에 대해 민감한 사람은 그 소음에 대해 불쾌하거나 짜증을 일으키기 쉽지만 소음에 대해 불쾌하거나 짜즈을 일으킨 사람이 소음에 대해 민감한 사람이라고 볼 수는 없을 것이다. 따라서 이들 차원간에 구체적인 통로분석이 이루어져야 할 것으로 보이며 이는 후속연구에서 밝혀질 것이다. 또한 실제 소음을 제시하여 각각의 소음을 평가하는 경험적 연구도 수행될 것이다.
