To develop the fruits of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) producing high yields of superoxide dismutase (SOD), the MnSOD cDNA from pea (Pisum sativum) under the control of the cauliflower mosaic virus 35S promoter was introduced into cucumber using Agrobacterium tumefaciens (strain LBA 4404)-mediated transformation. The kanamycin-resistant shoots were selected on the selection medium containing MS basal salt, 1.0 mg/L zeatin, 0.1 mg/L IAA, 300 mg/L claforan, and 100 mg/L kanamycin. After 6 weeks of culture on the selection medium, the shoots were transferred to MS medium containing 0.2 mg/L NAA to induce roots. PCR analysis using the primers for neomycin phosphotransferase (NPTII) gene revealed that three plantlets were transformed. The fruits of one transgenic plant had approximately 3.2-fold higher SOD activity than those of non-transgenic plants. MnSOD isoenzyme band was strongly detected on native gel in fruits of transgenic plants.

In vitro shoot tip culture technique was established in pear (Pyrus pyrifolia 'Niitaka') as related to tree vigor, sampling time, and plant growth regulators and sucrose supplemented to medium. Shoot tips excised in June from the tree having medium-vigor developed good shoots. BA (1.0 and 2.0 mg/L) without NAA produced shoots suitable for proliferation, and NAA supplemented to medium resulted in poor shoot growth and excessive callus formation. BA of 2.0 mg/L combined with 0.01 mg/L NAA provided shoots suitable for rooting and sucrose of 30 g/L was recommended for proliferation medium. A fourth strength MS medium supplemented with 0.1 mg/L NAA produced plantlets in good quality of root number and root length.

Toegye pursues a life of pleasure, joy and nobility. Anyone who is a scholar shall feel a joy in learning and practicing. However, not everyone can enjoy true pleasure or true calling through self-cultivations. Everybody wants "a joy of distant friends' visitations." But most of Confucian scholars prefer forests as a place of learning and self-cultivation. Toegye especially likes a forest life and then gives same value to walking as to reading. "Not to be angry even if not recognized" must be a high stage of self-cultivation. Toegye does not pursue fame or glory and always resign into a country life. His life-time resignation makes him obtain great after-death fame and glory. Thus, nobody feels jealousy against him but adores him.

As performance and feature set of mobile devices are getting better, the scope of things for which they can be used is also getting widened. More than simply browsing information using mobile web, now these devices can interact with users. It requires various features to manage a web site; supporting full-browsing alone is not enough since there are problems such as processing speed, user interface restriction. However, using mobile devices to manage a web site has its own merits since the can be used without restriction of time and location. In this paper, we introduce a mobile web site administration software that provides both online and offline features. It supports CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations for news and users. These operations can be executed both offline and online. A user can do most of things offline; It connects to online only when it's absolutely necessary and does those in batch mode.

There has been a steady study of unmanned vehicle. So far, continuous research has brought news of the commercialization of unmanned vehicle. In addition, it has been applied in a variety of fields with another industry. A lot of research has been done, too, to apply inert driving indoors. Using LoRa network, which is a network dedicated to IoT, unmanned vehicle control system that is applied to LoRa network from a small space, or from an office hospital to a factory, is installed to increase efficiency when the performs special tasks. This paper presents solutions to a variety of problems by using LoRa network, which is dedicated to IoT, to recognize an unmanned vehicle as a single object, to communicate with surrounding objects, and to receive information necessary for driving indoors from a cloud server.

Securing a safe place to keep its collections in Busan, the interim capital during the Korean War, the National Museum of Korea could fulfill its mission to protect the national treasures. Right before Seoul was recaptured by the Communist forces, the museum managed to evacuate its collections to Busan in December of 1950. Until the armistice in 1953, a Korean government warehouse in Busan had to function as a temporary museum building. Protecting the national treasures in this small building, the National Museum of Korea had to maintain its role as a national museum and contribute in revitalizing cultural functions of Busan, the interim capital. The efforts led to hope for reconstructing the museum.

This study was conducted to explore the experience of emotional change among senior citizens aged 65 and older experienced COVID-19 social situation. COVID-19 not only directly affects the elderly as a high-risk infectious disease, it also causes social isolation and depression caused by social distinctions, decreased cognitive skills, and worsened chronic diseases, and has indirect effects. As a result of the study, one component and four sub-components were derived, and the components were emotional changes. As the elderly experienced COVID-19, fear of spreading, fear of increasing the number of deceased and dead, and social distance I experienced depression, tightness, and anticipation for ending due to self-control. No matter how hard you try 'technical prevention', without 'psychological prevention', the anxiety of the elderly will inevitably increase. In this study, mediators for negative emotions experienced by the elderly are provided by providing accurate information to prevent the spread of fear caused by COVID-19 and proving emotional support programs such as 'psychological prevention' as well as 'technical prevention'. I think it will be necessary.

This study intends to apply the concept of reputation as a tool to positively build an evaluation of the CEO, the CEO of a company. It aims to develop tools to manage the reputation of the CEO and empirically explore the value of the tools use. As a result of the study, reliability, customer management, strategic vision, employee management, and social responsibility were derived as the constituent factors of CEO reputation, and it was confirmed that the relationship between CEO reputation and organizational favorability was statistically causal. Furthermore, the relationship between CEO reputation and product purchase intention was also statistically significant. It was confirmed that if the CEO's reputation was positively managed, it could help the stakeholders to evaluate the company to which the CEO belongs, as well as to purchase the products provided by the company. One of the ways to be well-received by various stakeholders in a corporate environment where uncertainty is intensifying is a reputation management system for CEOs, and CEOs themselves should recognize that their reputation can affect the organization and pay attention to reputation management.

This study was carried out to investigate the lodging patterns and the direct and indirect effects of several agronomic characters upon lodging of soybean plants. Most of the lodged plants had bent main stem above first stem node at higher plant density. Lodging was significantly correlated with plant height, internode length and shoot fresh weight in two soybean cultivars, Paldalkong and Jangyeobkong. Root fresh weight was also significantly correlated with lodging in Paldalkong, Jangyeobkong and Kwangkyo. Length of internode showed the greatest direct effect on lodging in Paldalkong and Jangyeobkong.

The Korean Meteorological Society had published the 'Journal of the Korean Meteorological Society' as an academic journal representing the society, and has been currently publishing 'Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences (APJAS)' and 'Atmosphere'. The Journal of the Korean Meteorological Society was published for 1963~2007 since the society was established, and has been renamed to APJAS since 2008 as a manner to make an international leap forward. The 'Atmosphere' was first published in 1991 and has been using the same name to date. In the early years of publication, it served as a newsletter to announce the activities of society members, but it is now publishing valuable research articles. As part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the society, this paper has summarized the footsteps of several academic journals published in the past and still publishing, and proposed future development plans.
