  • A social network game (SNG) is the result of a combination of a life simulation game and a social networking service. These types of games are particularly popular among women. This phenomenon calls for research that focuses on the motivation behind playing SNGs, the factors that make SNGs absorbing and, particularly, the space decorating features of SNGs. The current study investigates people's experience with the space decorating features of SNGs and their motivation for playing these games. It observes the behaviors of SNG players, which were typed through Q methodology. Moreover, it specifically analyzes the motivation behind the playing of space-decorating SNGs. The study concludes that most of players were more absorbed in the space-decorating features of these games than they were in their social networking features. This also affects a player's continued playing of these games. This study proves that this phenomenon is related to players' desires for self-representation.

Enterprises have been utilizing an element of 'Gamification' representing a functional aspect and emotional pleasure of a game in order to attract users' attention and increase their voluntary participation since the early social network service marketing. However, social network service system contains functional roles of Gamification components rather than they function separately. Hence, this research intends to examine Gamification elements of social network service and characteristics occurred when enterprise uses several social network services as a marketing channel. Besides, it aims at suggesting a marketing guideline for Gamification based on social network that may induce users' interest and increase an immersion effect. Firstly, this study examined concepts and characteristics of social network service and Gamification centered on literature research. Secondly, it summarized a game mechanics, dynamics and a fun type of Gamification components. Thirdly, based on theoretical research, it collected Gamification marketing cases of 5 enterprises including 'Coca Cola Korea', 'Lotte Mart', 'Canon Korea', "Kolon Sports' and 'Uniqlo Korea' that utilize more than 3 of 4 social network services including 'Kakao Story', 'Band', 'Facebook' and 'Instagram' used the most in our nation, analyzing characteristics of Gamification marketing and deriving a suggestion.

  • Recently, the social network game (SNG) industry is expanding at a fast pace by the increase in the charged item sales. The objective of the present study is to explore factors influencing user intention to purchase charged items. Based on the literature review, flow has been introduced as an influential factor of the intention to purchase and individual influence, social relationship, and social influence as factors of flow. Enjoyment and self-competence are assumed to be measurement constructs for individual influence, social interaction and self-presentation for social relationship, social norm and perceived critical mass for social influence. Empirical analysis show that enjoyment and self-presentation has significant influence on users' flow while self-competence and social interaction has not. Also social norms and perceived critical mass directly influence intention to purchase items. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed by this results.

  • SNG(social network game)은 최근 보편화된 SNS(social network service)를 기반으로 하는 게임으로 단순한 인터페이스와 진행방법을 제공하는 캐주얼 게임 위주로 서비스되고 있다.

  • This study deals with the digital policy proposal through the path modeling study on the effect of the strength of weak ties & emotional perception leading to the user's satisfaction, WOM between game users, and the verification on the effect of the emotional real name SNS on the social network game's diffusion. Researcher confirmed that the effect of the strength of weak ties & emotional perception led to the user's satisfaction, WOM of SNG. Even though weak tie, researchers estimate that the users emotionally interact with the real name relation effect of SNS. And effective factors for WOM are not a tie relationship or emotional interactivity of weak tie antecedently but user's satisfaction. As a result, though antecedent factors (weak tie & interactivity) had a positive effect as real name SNS, eventually powerful factor of making buzz was the SNG user's satisfaction. Thus researchers expect the practical policy proposition for government & corporation, which means SNG service providers more carefully manage the service satisfaction for WOM with SNG user's experience.

  • This study is aimed at comparing and analyzing the response of playfulness level by personality type of players, according to the observations and results of behavior shown in SNG (Social Network Game) players during their play, in particular based on social behavior of SNG players. For this, the behavior of SNG players is classified into SC (Social Connectedness) and NC (Non-Social Connectedness) by space where they play games and the relations between behavior of each SNG player and their playfulness are confirmed by empirical experiment based on big-five personality traits possible standards of disposition expected from players. The results are presented that the playfulness for behavior of SNG players has distinct features by personality types and there is a significant difference between personality types for SC behavior. It could be useful for determining the proportion of playing behavior for Social Connect, generally known as one of main sources SNG provides when designing SNG play and considering personality types of players.
