System Reliability Analysis of Midship Sections (선체 중앙 횡단면의 시스템 신뢰성해석)

  • A structural system reliability analysis is studied for the safety assessment of midship section. Probabilistically dominant collapse modes are generated by Element Replacement Method and Incrimental Load Method. In order to avoid generating the same modes repeatedly, it is branched at final plastic hinge. Using first and second order bound methods, system failure probability of midship section is computed and compared with deterministic load factor method to show the usefulness of the proposed method.

  • Plastic strength analysis using plastic failure mode as a limit state is adopted instead of a conventional elastic structural analysis to predict the ultimate strength of Web frame idealized by a plane frame. Linear programming arid Compact procedure are developed for determining the collapse load factor. It is found that the final results are good agreement with the results of Elasto-plastic analysis. Besides, the redundant structures like Web frame is known to have multiple failure modes. Web frame may collapse under any of the possible failure modes. Thus, the identification of these possible failure modes is necessary and very important in the reliability analysis of Web frame. In order to deal with multiple failure modes, automatic generation method of all failure modes and basic failure modes is used for selecting the dominant failure modes. The probability of failure pastic collapse of Web frame is calculated using these dominant failure modes. The safety of Web frame is asscssed and compared by performing the deterministic and probabilistic analysis.

A Study on Failure Mode of Pipe Elbows with Wall Thinning (두께 감소된 배관 엘보우의 파손 모드에 대한 연구)

  • Difference of failure modes was studied by finite element analysis for elbows with local wall thinning area particularly at inner surface of intrados of the elbow. Longitudinal wall thinning length, minimum thickness were kept constant but circumferential wall thinning width was varied to get $90^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$ and $360^{\circ}$ thinning width. Elastic-plastic analysis were carried out under the combined loading conditions of internal pressure and in-plane bending moment closing the elbow. Von Mises stress were obtained from the outer surface central surface location in intrados, extrados and crown parts in elbow. The results showed that the plastic deformation and failure started from the crown location when the thinning width small ($90{\sim}180^{\circ}$). However, plastic collapse started from the intrados location when the thinning width is approaching $360^{\circ}C$. This should be reflected to assess structural integrity of elbows after wall thinning measurement is made.

  • Cup drawing test and U-bending test were performed to evaluate the friction characteristics of sheet materials for the different deformation modes involved in stamping process. The coefficient of friction calculated from the each test was compared to that obtained from the draw bead friction test. It was clarified that the cup drawing test could be simply used for evaluating the friction characteristic of sheet material in deep drawing process with high contacting pressure. However the U-bending test is suitable to evaluate the frictional characteristic of sheet material in bending process with low contacting pressure.

  • The number of parts made of ceramic materials has gradually been increasing in field of from mechanical engineering to electronics engineering and, mechanical engineering ceramics have spread because of three very favourable characteristic features of their application, namely, heat, wear, and corrosion resistance. therefore, the elaboration of suitable grinding technologies is Important. grinding is problematic because crack-free ceramics are difficult to process owing to their particular micro structure. In this paper we report on the application of advanced precision grinding process, elaborating continuous wheel dressing. The removal rate can be increased significantly and surface roughness is improved. Various problems(roughness, ground surface etc)encountered in grinding of ceramics are also discussed.

  • 자동차의 안전에 대한 연구는 객실의 변형제한과 승객의 감속도 축소를 위한 여러가지 구조부재의 에너지 흡수능력 및 흡수 메카니즘을 연구하는데 초점이 맞추어져 왔다. 그 이유는 충돌사고시에 인명을 보호하기 위해서는 차제변형에 의한 물리적 접촉의 회피 뿐 아니라 충돌에너지를 적절히 흡수조절하여 충돌력을 감소시키도록 구조부재를 설계함으로써 충돌안전성이 확보되기 때문이다. 충돌에너지 흡수 특성은 구조부재의 단면 형상과 재질에 따라 달라지며 압괴모드도 구분되어진다. 즉, 복합재료의 압축붕괴특성은 금속이나 플라스틱 재질과는 다르다. 일반적으로 복합재는 재질의 파손으로 에너지가 흡수되지만 금속재는 소성변형으로 에너지를 흡수한다. 이때의 붕괴양상은 작용하중에 따라 축방향 붕괴, 굽힘붕괴, 측면붕괴의 경우는 정규압괴모드(compact mode) 및 불규칙압괴모드(noncompact mode)로 나뉘고, 원통쉘의 경우는 축대칭모드 및 다이아몬드형 모드 등으로 나뉠수 있다. 원형 및 사각 튜브는 광범위한 형상비와 후폭비를 가지도록 제작할 수 있으며 산업전반에 걸쳐 널리 쓰이므로 충돌특성 연구의 대상으로 많은 연구들이 진행되어 왔다. 또한, 충돌특성의 해석을 위한 이론적 모델이 제시되었으며 계속적인 보완이 이루어져 오고 있다.

  • 좌굴하기 쉬운 구조물을 설계할 때는 반드시 좌굴특성에 대한 어떤 직관을 가져야 한다. 이글의 목적은 셸 구조물이 비선형붕괴(nonlinear collapse), 분기좌굴(bifurcation buckling) 또는 이들 모드의 조합에 의해서 어떻게 좌굴될 것인가에 대한 감각을 전하는데 있다. 이 불안정에 대한 직관적 이해는 보강되고 여러 요소들로 조립되며 분지셸(branched shell)을 갖거나 복잡한 벽구 조를 갖는 실제 셸 구조물 등의 많은 예에 의해서 얻어질 수 있다. 이 글에서는 수식의 개발이 아니라 불안정의 예측에 주안점을 두고 있으며, 큰 처짐과 소성의 조합에 의해 발생되는 비선 형좌굴과 결함민감도가 특히 강조된다. 또한 최적화된 구조물의 국부 및 전체 불안정, 좌굴모드의 상호작용, 그리고 결함민감도(imperfection sensitivity) 등이 예시된다.

Nondestructive Bending Strength Evaluation of Woodceramics Made from Woody Part of Broussonetia kazinoki Sieb. -Effect of Carbonization Temperature- (닥나무의 목질부로 만든 우드세라믹의 비파괴휨강도평가 -소성온도의 영향-)

  • Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technique method using a resonance frequency mode was carried out for woodceramics made by different carbonizing temperature (600, 800, 1000, $1200^{\circ}C$) for Broussonetia kazinoki Sieb. Dynamic modulus of elasticity increased with increasing carbonizing temperature. There was a close relationship of dynamic modulus of elasticity and static bending modulus of elasticity to MOR. Therefore, the dynamic modulus of elasticity using resonance frequency mode is useful as a nondestructive evaluation method for predicting the MOR of woodceramics made by different carbonizing temperature for B. kazinoki Sieb.

  • In this research, wish to suggest method to embody system that can accommodate defect of PLC and find actual propriety. Defect permission control system minimizes production damage because enables repair and checking without discontinuance and improve believability about whole system. Propose duplexing of system to embody this fault tolerant system. Therefore, composed control system that can permit defect or breakdown duplexings of various module proposing this system, and confirms to simulation and actuality kiln of defect permission control system through an application experiment, and compares for mean time between defect by estimate and defect special quality and system configuration of failure(failure) to improve believability of PLC control system together. In proposed system expression method and system mode and relation with operation mode, error discovery mode and switching tube of duplexing mode, and PLC's central processing unit of node study algorithm about master-standby conversion driving and continuous operation of 2 channels method that have 2 that is not one and deduced continuous operation method and result about defect permission in this algorithm and applies this result to actuality kiln control system and confirms continuous operation about PLC defect permission.
