Development and Application of Internet-based Consumer Education Program for Children (인터넷 기반 아동소비자 교육프로그램 개발 및 적용)

  • This study presents a development of internet-based consumer education program for children. We also investigate how this program affects on the children's consumer competency and how much children are interested in this program. This program consists of 6 domains: the concept of consumer. wants and scarcity. advertisement, tips on purchasing. consumer's rights. and consumer's problem imd solutions. In order to attract children. multimedia data such as pictures. drawings. and animations were included in designing the screens. The subjects of this study were 40 children at forth grade to participate in consumer education program. Surveys were conducted twice to collect data for consumer competency and children's interest in the program. According to the results of t-test. We found that consumer education has a positive effect on consumer knowledge and consumer-role attitude but has not a positive effect on consumer skill. We also found that children's interest on this program was very high.

Comparison of Learning Effect between Cyber Home Study and Teacher's Lecture in Class - Focusing on the Unit of 'Consumer Life for Youth' in Middle School Technology.Home Economics Subject - (교사의 면대면 수업과 사이버 가정 학습의 학습 효과 비교 - 중학교 기술 가정 교과의 '청소년과 소비 생활' 단원을 중심으로 -)

  • The purposes of this study are to develop cyber home study program on consumer life for youth in middle school students and to compare the learning effect of this program with that of teacher's off-line lecture in class. The contents of the middle school Home Economics. Technology textbooks was analyzed. Based on this analysis 4 cyber home study lesson plans on youth's consumer life were developed. The topics of lesson plan were as 'youth and consumer behavior', 'utilizing consumer information'. 'effective consumer choice', 'resolving consumer problems'. The cyber home study were composed of 5 steps which were 'guiding' $\rightarrow$ 'learning activities' $\rightarrow$ 'evaluation' $\rightarrow$ 'further study' $\rightarrow$ 'summery'. The second grade middle school students as an experimental group participated in cyber home study through on-line class. The control group of students who had same condition with the experimental group were taught by home economics teacher using traditional instructional methods in off-line class. After the experiment, the changes in consumer's attitudes and knowledge of both groups were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance. The significant improvements of consumer's attitudes and knowledge were found in both the experimental and control groups of students. However, the consumer's attitudes and knowledge of the students who were taught by the teacher in off-line class improved more than those of the students who studied using cyber home study program in on-line class. Thus, the following conclusion is made that the cyber home study could be one of the useful learning methods to aid traditional off-line teaching in class.

  • This study was to develope and applicate the consumer education program with appropriate level for middle school students so that they could take systematic consumer education by using creative-discretionary activity. The procedure of this study was researching and analyzing the degree of learner's need and choosing the contents of education involved with the characteristics of adolescent consumers. This education program was performed at creative-discretionary activity class with the 3th grade of middle school. To evaluate the effect of education program, we compared with the difference of student's knowledge and attitude before and after this program was performed. Although there was no significant difference, student's knowledge and attitude was improved much better. And there marked a high satisfaction rate of 3.87 about the overall method of consumer education.

  • 본 논문은 개인의 정보를 외부로 유출하지 않고, 소비자 방송 수신 단말 장치에 저장된 데이터를 이용하여 머신 러닝 모델을 학습하고, 소비자가 원하는 맞춤 방송 정보를 제공하는 시스템을 구글의 연합 학습[1] 을 기반한 설계에 관한 것이다. 이를 위하여, 소비자 사용 패턴 및 행동 데이터를 수집하고 저장하며 머신 러닝 학습을 진행 하는 단말 구조와 단말에서 생성된 학습 모델 파라미터 정보를 수집하고 평균화 하는 중앙 서버의 구조를 연구하고, 연합 학습을 이용한 학습 정보를 이용하여 개인 맞춤형 방송 정보를 제공하는 시스템을 연구한다.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop practical problem-based home economics teaching.learning process plans about a unit 'the youth and consumer life' of middle school eighth-grade Technology and Home Economics by applying blended learning(BL) strategy. According to ADDIE instructional design model, this study was conducted in the following procedure: analysis, design/development, implementation, and evaluation. In the stage of design and development, the selected unit was converted into a practical problem-based unit, and practical problem-based teaching. learning process plans were designed in detail by using BL strategy. An online study room for practical problem-based home economics instruction grounded in BL strategy was prepared by using Edunet(http://community.edunet4u.net/${\sim}$consumer2). Eight-session lesson plans were mapped out, and study aids for students and materials for teachers were prepared. In the implementation stage, the first-session teaching plans that dealt with a minor question 'what preparations should be made to become a wise consumer' were utilized when instruction was provided to 115 eighth graders who were in three different province, and the other one was in a middle school in the city of Daejeon. The experimental teaching was implemented for two weeks in the following procedure: preliminary program, pre-online learning, main instruction and post- online learning. The preliminary program was carried out in a session in the classroom, and pre-online learning was provided before the main instruction was given in a session in the classroom. After the main instruction was completed, post-online learning was offered. In the evaluation stage, a survey was conducted on all the learners and teachers to find out their opinions and suggestions.

  • As we enter into the 21C, it is important to reassess the knowledge and skills that are necessary for individual consumers and consumer professionals to be able to function efficiently in the rapidly changing society, and also to develop teaching tools fit to enhance the teaming of such knowledge and skills. The Purpose of this study is three-folds: 1) to identify key competencies necessary in the 21C consumer education, especially in higher education institutions, 2) to suggest 'experiential learning' as an ideal pedagogical tool for consumer education in the 21C century, and 3) to provide an example from an undergraduate classroom in the U.S. that applies 'service learning' as a teaching tool in a consumer studies curriculum. Discussions about the potentials for expanding this learning strategy are also provided.

User Sentiment Analysis on Amazon Fashion Product Review Using Word Embedding (워드 임베딩을 이용한 아마존 패션 상품 리뷰의 사용자 감성 분석)

  • In the modern society, the size of the fashion market is continuously increasing both overseas and domestic. When purchasing a product through e-commerce, the evaluation data for the product created by other consumers has an effect on the consumer's decision to purchase the product. By analysing the consumer's evaluation data on the product the company can reflect consumer's opinion which can leads to positive affect of performance to company. In this paper, we propose a method to construct a model to analyze user's sentiment using word embedding space formed by learning review data of amazon fashion products. Experiments were conducted by learning three SVM classifiers according to the number of positive and negative review data using the formed word embedding space which is formed by learning 5.7 million Amazon review data.. Experimental results showed the highest accuracy of 88.0% when learning SVM classifier using 50,000 positive review data and 50,000 negative review data.

  • This study tried to establish a base level for the form of ginseng in order to prevent fraud in which novice consumers, who have no information on ginseng and mountain ginseng, regard ginseng as mountain ginseng. To that end, researchers designed a service design in which when a consumer takes a picture of ginseng with an APP dedicated to a smartphone, the photo is sent remotely and the determined results are sent to the consumer based on machine learning data. In order to minimize the difference between the data set in the research process and the background color, location, size, illumination, and color temperature of the mountain ginseng when consumers took pictures through their smartphones, the filming box exclusively for consumers was designed. Accordingly, the collection of mountain ginseng samples was made under the same controlled environment and setting as the designed box. This resulted in a 100% predicted probability from the CNN(VGG16) model using a sample that was about one-tenth less than widley required in machine learning.

  • In the massive online fashion market, it is not easy for consumers to find the fashion style they want by keyword search for their preferred style. It can be resolved into consumer needs based fashion recommendation. Most of the existing online shopping sites have collected cumtomer's preference style using the online quastionnair. In this paper, we propose a simple but effective novel model that resolve the traditional method in fashion profiling for consumer's preference style and needs using implicit profiling method. In addition, we proposed a learning model that reflects the characteristics of the images itself through the deep learning-based intelligent preferred fashion model learned from the collected data. We show that the proposed model gave meaningful results through the qualitative evaluation.

Development of the ICT Consumer Education Program for the Second Grade of Middle School Students (중학교 2학년 기술 가정교과 '청소년과 소비생활' 단원의 ICT활용 교육프로그램 개발)

  • The purposes of this study were to develop ICT consumer education program for the second grade middle school students using in the Home Economics and Technology class and to test the effect of this program in terms of learning the knowledge and forming the attitude to be a wise consumer. The contents of a middle school Home Economics curriculum and 10 different textbooks were analyzed. Based on these analyses 5 ICT lesson plans on consumer education were developed. The second grade middle school students as an experimental group participated in 5 ICT consumer education classes during the middle school Home Economics and Technology classes. The control group of students who had same condition with the experimental group were taught by traditional instructional methods. After experiment, the changes in knowledge and attitude to be a wise consumer of both groups were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance. The significant improvements of knowledge and attitude of it were found among the experimental group of students compared with control group of students. Thus the conclusion is that the ICT consumer education program conducted in this study was found to be more effective than traditional one in terms of learning the knowledge and forming the attitude to be a wise consumer.
