Research Trends in Teaching-Learning Methods for Home Economics Education (가정과 교육의 교수.학습 방법에 관한 국내 연구 동향)

  • This study aimed to examine the research trends and to suggest future research directions in teaching-learning methods for Home Economics education, by analyzing articles published in three major academic journals in the field. From each of the research studies, the teaching-learning method, the related content area, and the learning effect measures were quantitatively codified. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis and cross-tabulations. According to the results, the number of teaching-learning method studies steadily increased since 1998 and peaked in 2010 and 2011. The most frequently studied content areas were combinations of more than two content areas, and the most frequently studied teaching-learning method was the Content-Based methods, followed by Practical Thinking/Problem Solving, and IT-Based methods. The most frequently used measures of learning effect were Knowledge/Understanding, Attitudes toward Home Economics subject, General Attitudes/Competencies, and the Attitudes toward the Instructional Method, in the order of frequencies. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the teaching-learning method research and also provide implications to the documentation of Home Economics curriculum for secondary education.

Analysis of the Content Connectivity of the 2009 Revised Technology & Home Economics Curriculum 'Consumption' Area (2009개정 기술·가정교육과정 '소비생활' 영역의 내용 연계성 분석)

  • This study analyzed contents of 12 kinds of middle school technology Home Economics(1) textbooks, 9 high school Technology Home Economics textbooks and 2 high school home science textbooks based on the 5 areas and 9 subject areas of 'Understanding of market and consumer', 'Reasonable consumption', 'Resolution and prevention of consumer problems', 'Formation of desirable consumption culture', 'Career and occupation related to consumption life' for the purpose of analyzing connectivity of contents in the area of 'consumption life' in the Technology Home Economics curriculum revised in 2009, and analyzed connectivity of contents on the basis of 'developed', 'repeated', 'different' and 'reduced' based on the results of analysis on the contents of the textbooks. Analysis results show that middle school Technology Home Economics(1) textbooks are mainly dealing with problems related to consumption life and ways to practice healthy consumption life, high school Technology Home Economics textbooks emphasized understanding of consumption culture in modern life and practice and method of sustainable consumption life, and high school home science textbooks contain overall contents of household financial management and consumption life. In general, contents were distributed as 'developed' 11 times (32.4%), 'repeated' 6 times (17.6%), 'reduced' 13 times (38.2%), 'different' 4 times (11.8%). Contents of the majority of textbooks are composed suitable for the curriculum achievement standard, but connectivity of 'developed' cannot be considered a desirable type of connectivity. various formation plans as suggested shall be devised not to let learning elements of 'consumption life' area discontinued considering school levels and achievement standard of curriculum.

A Study on the Experience Design and Practical Use of Experience by On- and Off-Line Environment (온 오프라인 환경에 따른 경험의 활용과 경험디자인에 관한 연구)

  • In the past, consumers sought utilitarian and defensive consumption in an attempt to move to a balanced state. However, today's consumers go beyond this to consume more for hedonic and creative reasons if not for sheer pleasure. There is an obvious shift from the type of consumption that satisfies basic desires through the characteristics, convenience and quality of goods and services to an era of 'experiential consumption,' in which consumers pursue distinctive value systems and way of life along with a total 'experience' provided by such goods and services. Such a sign of the times has given birth to the experience design that aims at maximizing the strategic use of experiences in design. Research on this subject is gradually increasing. The research and application peformed even without the proper understanding about the concepts and purposes of experience design, however, is likely to deviate from the true nature in its process or method. Also, they are likely to cause rather than solve problems. Accordingly, this study examined the meaning of experience from a spatial aspect, focusing on areas that recognize the experience as economically valuable, making the most of it substantively. The main concept of experience practical used on-line is enhancement of the usability of a medium by reflecting the experience of users accustomed to both off-line and on-line environments and materializing the environment doser to and more familiar with the users, thus allowing them to comfortably use the medium. This is to allow the users to feel more comfortable. The experience practical used pertaining to off-line is a tool to fulfill the sensitivity of users, with efforts to create new, future-oriented consumer values. This, based on the understanding of consumer behavior, seeks to maximize the consumption experience of consumers by providing a combination of sensual and sensitive experiences as well as to enhance the existing experiences by permitting users to create new, extended experiences from the fixed characteristics of products. Furthermore, it aims to provide consumers with the hedonic experience of play through the joy, fun and uniqueness of alternate experiences.

  • It is an aim of this study to analyze a relation between modern medicine advertisements and body. Recently the academic world has discussed how comes it that the modernity had been formed. This trend is remarkable in the field of the history of everyday life. Because everyday life is connected with people's vivid experience. Especially in modern advertising it is in existence such as popular culture, consumer culture, sexuality, family, food, clothing and housing, disease. Since modern times the body has been reorganized into a new shape. Namely the premodern body that had been regulated by a status system is changed into modern body that have to form itself after the customs and values. We analyzed medicine advertisements in the early modern times and hoped to explain how modern people had understood their body. We applied Foucault's theory of discourse as a methodology. As a result of research, we came to the conclusion that there were several rules in the texts of medicine advertisements, which had formed a modern subject of pain. There was a disciplinary power such as a internalization of clinical eyes, self-watch in medicine advertisements. These advertisements contributed to the formation of subject of pain and related to the state power.

  • With the development of IoT technology, the scope of object controls and sensor information has expanded and services have been diversified. Energy saving efforts in buildings with high energy consumption is increasing, and services are being extended over life safety, security and convenience. However, Existing smart building services are dependent on IoT devices and are difficult to change or expand. In this paper, we have implement of workflow based smart building services to modify or extend services according to user's needs.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors of importance in the medical field from the perspective of the consumer, using "Consumption Life Indicators in Korea." Methods: We examined the general characteristics, economic conditions, information acquisition, complaint-provoking experiences, cognitive score on dispute resolution, and factors affecting medical domain importance selection, using SAS 9.4. software. Results: It was found that "age" among general characteristics and "income" among economic conditions were important factors in selecting medical domain importance. Thus, it was possible to reaffirm the poor health of socioeconomically vulnerable people and their socioeconomic difficulties. Conclusions: The medical domain selection group needs the attention of the government, medical institutions, academia, consumer groups, community service groups and professional organizations, and needs substantial economic support and customized education.

Analysis of the Content and Components of Consumer Competency Presented in Home Economics and Other Subjects of Middle School (중학교 가정교과와 타 교과에 제시된 소비자역량의 내용과 구성요소 분석)

  • This study aims to identify implications for the role of home economics in consumer education in middle schools focusing on building consumer competency. To this end, the content in middle school textbooks of home economics and other subjects, written according to the 2015 revised curriculum, were analyzed. This study examined consumer education content based on the consumer competency measurement index developed by the Korean Consumer Agency, and reviewed different foci presented by subjects. This study also investigated how the knowledge, attitude and practice, which are components of consumer competency, are presented. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows: First, consumer competency content, presented in textbooks of home economics and other subjects, were comprised of citizenship competency(65.3%), transactional competency(27%), and financial competency(7.7%). Second, in terms of content on the consumer's citizenship competency, little attention was paid to consumer rights, revealing an imbalance between responsibilities and rights. Third, despite its importance, the "utilization of information and communications technology" in transaction competency, and "consumer participation" in citizenship competency are insufficiently covered in the home economics. Fourth, social studies was the subject that most extensively covered the content of consumer competency. In terms of scope, home economics dealt with most of the sub-fields. Fifth, even when the same content of consumer competency was covered, it was presented differently by subject. Sixth, there was a lack of connection between components of consumer competency-knowledge, attitude, and practice, with a disproportionately high emphasis on knowledge. In conclusion, this study concluded that consumer education content of middle school subjects is insufficient to enhance consumer competency.

Spatial Characters of Workplace and Everyday Life of Immigrant Workers in S. Korea (한국 이주노동자의 일터와 일상생활의 공간적 특성)

  • This paper considers some kinds of socio-spatial constraints and strategies for overcoming them which immigrant workers in Korea have experienced in their work-place and life-space, with an analysis of questionnaire data and of direct interview materials on them. Though they appear somewhat satisfactory or positive with their work-place, this can be seen as a hypocritical or false attitude rather than a real one: they are forced to work with long hours (more than 70 hours per week) and rigid controls in the other' territory. Their daily life-spaces also are severe: they can be hardly embedded in an existing community with a sense of place due to serious institutional and interaction constraints, even though they seem to have a basic mobility to survive in life-spaces. In order to escape or alleviate such local constraints, they try to constitute multi-scalar (local, trans-regional, and transnational) networks, and to find informations and means to resolve or cope with them. However, this kind of endeavors of immigrant workers to make a trans-national network and social space has a limitation for them to be free entirely from constraints, which might be strengthened with a lack of geographical knowledge of them. Then immigrant workers in Korea live ineluctably with not only hybrid national identity but also with disturbed local identity in an aliened workplace and life-spaces.

여성의 피부건강 관리의 인식과 실천행위 연구

  • 오늘날 경제 성장의 발전은 현대인의 삶의 여유를 가져오게 되었으며, 그 중 뷰티산업의 발전은 국가 주력의 산업으로 발전하게 되었다. 이에 뷰티산업의 구성원인 여성의 사회진출의 기회가 증가 되었고, 이로 인해 여성들은 사회 적응을 위한 하나의 방법으로 외모적인 경쟁력을 가져야 했다. 외모에 대한 관심은 물론 매스미디어의 증가, 사회적, 문화적 분위기, 미용기술의 발달 등을 들 수 있다. 외모의 사전적의미로는 겉으로 나타나는 모습으로 외모관리를 위한 영역으로 피부 관리를 꼽을 수 있다. 피부 관리는 미에 관한 현대 여성의 관심의 증가로, 시간과 비용을 투자하여 외적으로 보여주는 관리로서 외모관리의 대표적 부분으로 중요시 되어오고 있다. 피부의 건강관리는 인식도 중요하고 실천도 중요하다. 그러나 인식과 실천의 관계를 구체적으로 연구한 논문은 부족한 실정이다. 특히 성인여성들을 대상으로 건강관리 인식과 실천을 연구하여 피부건강 관리에 대한 올바른 방안을 제시해준 논문이 필요하다고 생각하여 본 연구자는 이 논문을 설계하게 되었다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 서울지역에 거주하는 20세 이상 60세 미만의 신 성인여성을 대상으로 2017년 5월 02일부터 7월 30일까지 2달 동안 설문조사를 실시하였다. 모집단은 서울지역에 사는 성인 여성을 대상으로 총 400부의 설문지를 배포하였다. 그 중 응답이 불량한 사람 49부를 제외되고 351부가 최종 자료로 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사대상자의 인구통계학적 특성을 알아본 결과, 연령은 '21-30세'가 85.2%로 가장 많았고, 결혼 상태는 '미혼'이 89.5%, 직업은 '학생' 67.0%, 최종학력은 '대학교 재학/졸업'이 68.1%, '가계의 월 소득은 '200만원 미만'이 71.8%로 가장 많이 소비되는 것으로 나타났다. 이상은 이혜원 (2009)의 논문과 같이 연령이 낮을수록 피부인식이 높아지며, 이들은 잠정고객으로서 피부 건강에 대한 비용을 높게 지불한다는 결과와 유사하다. 피부 관리실의 특성은 다음과 같다. 피부유형은 '복합성'이 47.6%, 적정 피부 관리 횟수는 '주 2회'가 32.5%, 적정 1회 피부 관리 비용으로는 '5만 원 이하'가 가장 많았으며, 피부 관리의 목적으로는 '여드름관리'가 32.8%, 피부 관리에서 중요하게 인식하는 부분으로는 '생활습관'이 79.8%로 대부분이었고, 피부의 유해요인으로는 '스트레스' 42.7%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 이상은 유유정(2013), 장은영(2013)와 같이 생활습관과 스트레스가 피부 관리에 영향을 준다는 결과와 유사하다.
