  • This study aimed to comprehensively assess the demographic characteristics, health behaviors, subjective health status, health-related restriction of life, and quality of life of male and female elderly aged 65 years older using data from the 2013-2015 Korean Community Health Survey (KCHS). The results showed that compared to the male elderly, the female elderly was less educated, did not have a spouse or had less household income, had poorer health behaviors, and had lower quality of life caused by restrictions in life. The female elderly had significantly lower quality of life than that of the male elderly. Various factors were found to affect quality of life in both sexes. The presence of spouse and BMI did not affect quality of life of men but did affect the quality of life of women. On the other hand, smoking affected the quality of life of men but not of women. Based on these results, more in-depth studies are needed on the female elderly, who have been reported to have lower health-related quality of life, and sex-specific services and programs that could more effectively improve the quality of life among the elderly should also be developed.

In a previous survey from 1998 to 2010, repeated cultivation of the plant increased root rot disease incidence and severity. The disease has been recognized as critically limiting factor for crop production. However, control method has not been established for the disease of P. grandiflorum and C. lanceolata. In this study, control efficacy of Tebuconazole EC, Trifloxystroim SC and grapefriut extract was evaluated on the root rot disease of these plants in two different field conditions. Three of different fungicide were non critical effect to the disease severity and the control value, but grapefriut seed extract (GSE) was more ability to control the disease in C. lanceolata. In most things, soil drainage was the most important to decrease the disease severity and to improve the control value.

The government legislated the Promotion of Industrial Education and Industry-Academic Cooperation Act and the Technology Transfer and Commercialization Promotion Act in order to improve the research productivity of universities and industrial-academic collaboration via transferring the technologies. However, the confusion with taxation on the compensation of employee invention from the university has been incurred due to the difference of legal interpretation between government bureaus. In this research, bureaucratic conflict on the non-taxation scheme is examined in a legal aspect and the effect of non-taxation scheme is also studied in aspect to personal tax exemption. Finally, some suggestions are provided for the purpose of settlement of the non-taxation scheme in order to improve employee invention from the university.
